House special pancake and cheese omelette.
    Alexander G.

Liked the place, nice wine, not a bad menu. Pancakes are huge and tasty, omelets are soft and have just the right amount of cheese. I wish there was an option of cream cheese as a side order, coffee could be better. Fast and friendly service, so at the end it was a good experience.

I have never had a bad or a mediocre breakfast from First Watch. Always, always have had the most delicious breakfast. I am not a coffee drinker but every so often I do get a coffee and it is so darn good absolutely enjoyed it. My server Joshua, was so kind. He poured my coffee for me, and left the carafe of coffee for me to refill my own. He let me look over the menu for a few minutes and then came back. I gave him my order. Biscuits and eggs. I also added a side of bacon. Only a few minutes went by and my food was sitting in front of me, piping hot. I can't even describe how delicious everything was. The biscuits, who ever makes these is a genius. How are they so fluffy inside with just a very slight crunch on the outside then they're smothered in turkey sausage gravy. It's epic. Mind blowing. Bacon, that's cooked to perfection. There are people who like crispy bacon, and then there are people who like it done right. And First Watch does it right. It's crispy, but not crunchy crispy. Still a little soft and chewy. Eggs, I asked for fried over medium, and that's exactly how they came out. Soft, a little runny, but not too runny. Perfect. I eat eggs daily and they were cooked just like I cook them at home. The hash brown potatoes were great too. Firm and crisp on the outside but firm/soft inside. They didn't fall apart when I stuck my fork in them. They still held together nicely. Was pretty quiet this morning. The day after Christmas and it was pretty early still when I got there. I was trying to figure out how to do a Google review. And Joshua was so kind to help me. I think because I've done one before a long time ago, I can't redo a review unless I delete my old one and write a new one. I'm more of a Yelper reviewer. So here I am, giving another 5 star review update. Joshua was a delight. Thank you for helping me and giving such great service.

1/2 - From traditional egg platters to omelets and healthy menu choices, First Watch is a sure bet for breakfast in Austin. The food is consistently fresh and delicious -- an easy five stars for flavor and quality. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and speedy with pouring coffee when sitting down. Where it falls a bit short is in attention to detail where most true diners shine. Small things like empty sugar packets, used plastic creamers, and a bit of trash left around the plate kept it from being a perfect five-star experience. With a little more focus on those finishing touches, it would easily be one of the best restaurant-diner in town.

My friend and I split the chicken pesto quinoa bowl and the strawberry tres leches french toast. I was pleasantly supprised at how much I enjoyed the chicken pesto bowl and I thought it was seasoned well. I wish the strawberry tres leches french toast was a bit creamier and less airy though. There was plenty of seating inside and it wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately.

Food is always delicious! Have been here 3 times now and the servers are extremely kind and accommodating. Lost my phone in the restroom and the waiter that went in after me saved my phone at the front desk! Place can seem a bit crowded sometimes but have always gf a good experience

the Star rating for this visit,It's strictly related to the shrimp and grits plate. The service was quick, fast and great. But the food was not Okay, here's my rating of the new dish that first watch put out, which would be the shrimp and grits plate. being a Southerner, shrimps and grits is something That's you indulge in every so often not every day, not every week, sometimes not every month. But when you do indulge in shrimp and grits, you want it to be immaculate, you want it to be flavorful, you want it to be busting with season. Well, first watch this will be the first time that I will rate a dish from you all with two thumbs down. This dish taste it as if someone cooked it in someone church's basement with limited access to seasoning. The presentation of the food was too much. You couldn't see the grits because of all of the extracurricular vegetation that was surrounding the grits, and covering the grits and hiding the grits.. This is a southern dish. This is a dish that you do not put on a menu unless you know you can really come with it. I'm going to take this as a trial era and give this dish another try. If it's still around in a couple of months and see if it's been improved, and also to see if you actually listen to your customers Recommendations. I took a loss on this.I felt like I wasted money. reviews like this can only help to improve the business. You gotta have customers who tell you the truth. When you're good, we'll let you know when you're good when you bet. We'll let you know that you're bad

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this place so I went in with very low expectations. The food was pretty good! I enjoyed the breakfast sandwhich with the chicken sausage. The place looked and felt very clean and service was attentive though I will say it took almost an hour to get our food on a slow Tuesday morning. Other than that it was good and would come again!

Good menu with a nice variety of options. I especially appreciate the wide range of healthy choices, including plenty for vegetarians, like the bowls and other lighter dishes.

    Million Dollar Bacon
    Celeste N.

Came here a few times and it has always been consistently good. I usually start off my meal with some coffee and move into a juice. I love the different options they have for your meal (breakfast and brunch menu all day). I highly recommend the million dollar bacon if you like syrup on your bacon at home and also the pancakes!

    Brunch time

We returned as our start to our Staycation. I tried the breakfast tacos with cajun chicken and chorizo with black beans. Side of Chicken sausage patties and ham. The chicken sausage was amazing as usual. The tacos were large, stuffed to overflowing but kind of bland. If the chicken or chorizo hahad spice you couldn't taste it. The ham was also good. Shana tried the black beans as she prefers them and they were ok. She got fresh market veggie oomelet and stated it was delightful and that the eggs were fluffy af. The staff was pleasant and fast. Less Christmas decor at this place then others. The alcohol is VERY limited so keep that in mind. It is usually busy but we got lucky and had a less busy time. The last visit didn't go as well but this one and previous ones before that did.

    Chile Chorizo

I got Chile Chorizo Omelet, it was a perfect breakfast combo. A bit of salad, savory toast and delicious Omelet. Our server (Brittney) moved quick like a lightning. Tip: You can get in line on their website.

    Owen M.

I expect 3 things from a breakfast joint: eggs, bacon, and a view of McDonalds. First watch had all three! This place is a consistently good breakfast or brunch spot that is always lively and friendly, with basic breakfast dishes as well as some interesting pancakes and juices. First Watch has good service, and is a great spot if you are looking for a weekend breakfast or brunch without having to cook or clean.

I chose the fresh burrito to avoid simple carbs. The food was a bit mild in flavor, so I asked for salsa. They have a delicious homemade habanero salsa that's bursting with flavor, and I especially appreciated that it wasn't smoky. That salsa alone earns five stars from me! But four was perfect. The reservation process was easy and the staff was super accommodating. I requested an area that was a little secluded with less noise so we could all catch up with each other. And they picked the most perfect table that was tucked away in its own little private area but you could still see everything that was going on in the restaurant. Chef's kiss! Our server was so friendly and fun and everything came out at the right time and on time. It's Italian so of course I ordered a red wine, Cabernet to be exact. We ordered a few shareable bites for the table and I really enjoyed the bruschetta and the meatballs! For dinner I had the butter lettuce salad (so good!) and then a butternut squash ravioli that was absolutely amazing. I would order that again and again and again but... There are way too many delicious options to get the same thing every time you go. Everyone ordered something different and everyone had the same reaction. Delicious! I cannot wait to return and try more things off of the menu. Note, it's always best to make a reservation but keep in mind they also have a full bar with seating around the bar. I definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try and make sure you're hungry when you go because there's so many delicious menu items to choose from.

Review for Juliette's Restaurant - Arboretum Location…read more On August 7, 2026, my husband and I visited Juliette's in the Arboretum, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The food itself was just alright -- nothing memorable or worth praising -- but the real issue was the environment and how we were made to feel. We were seated in a secluded area of the restaurant, noticeably apart from the main dining space. As the evening went on, we saw that nearly all the guests being ushered into the main area were Caucasian, while we remained the only minority couple placed off to the side. It was hard not to feel singled out. Our primary waitress was wonderful -- kind, attentive, and professional. However, when another staff member brought out our food, she looked at us and said, "Why you all hiding?" My husband almost responded, but I stopped him. She did not know that her comment hit a sore spot, especially when we didn't choose to be seated away from everyone else. As more guests arrived, the pattern continued: they were guided to the main dining area while we remained isolated. The entire experience felt discriminatory, and it left us with the impression that we were not "good enough" for the rest of the restaurant. My husband still left a generous tip because we believe in treating service staff fairly -- regardless of how we are treated. We will not be returning to this location. Perhaps the Barton Springs restaurant is different, but the Arboretum site left us feeling unwelcome. Even the promotional photos for this location show no minority representation, which sadly aligns with how we were made to feel. I do not recommend this restaurant at this site.

This isn't necessarily an every-week dinner for us price-wise--hibachi can definitely be a splurge--but if we could justify going every week, we absolutely would. It is hands-down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. And hibachi seems simple enough: great meat, fried rice, fresh vegetables, sauces. But when it's done REALLY well, apparently there is a huge difference, because Japon has completely ruined mediocre hibachi for me. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the meat is always cooked beautifully, the vegetables are perfect, the rice is ridiculous, and I could probably consume an irresponsible amount of their sauces. The food is actually so good that it inspired me to start buying fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, yum yum sauce and sriracha and making my own little version at home. It isn't Japon, obviously, but that's how much we love this food. What really deserves recognition, though, is their consistency. We've visited both locations, they've been absolutely SLAMMED, and somehow the service is still exceptional. We've never sat around forever waiting to be acknowledged or wondering where our server went. The staff is attentive, friendly and efficient every single time we've gone. The atmosphere at both locations is beautiful and lively, and of course there's the whole experience of watching your meal prepared right in front of you. Even the little details make it feel like a complete dining experience--from sitting down with a cold Topo Chico and fresh lemon to the little orange treat at the end. It's one of those restaurants where you leave already thinking about the next time you can justify going back. Yes, dinner for two can turn into a splurge. But we've never walked out feeling like the experience wasn't worth it. The quality of the food, atmosphere and consistently excellent service keeps us coming back. If you're craving hibachi in Austin, Sushi Japon is absolutely worth trying. Both locations have been fantastic for us. 10/10. If my budget had its way, we'd be regulars. When we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess said that she didn't have the reso on her end; rather than apologizing or making a single effort to fix the issue, she just stared at us. We had to prompt her for clarification and next steps, and had to continue to prompt her through the process of getting us sat. When we finally sat down at a regular table, we waited about 15 minutes without a server coming by. I eventually flagged a server down, and we got our order under way. We requested the manager stop by to tell him about the issue with the reservation and the fact that his hostess needs additional training, and surprise, the manager was also not helpful. He did apologize for our reservation being lost, but blamed it on the system and denied any responsibility for taking care of it - basically just told us that "life is life". He did not offer a discount or any kind of relief for the setbacks or bad service. I wasn't expecting the world or anything, but good hospitality dictates that you do more that basically tell us to just deal with it. For the food: the sushi was pretty gnarly - it looked like somebody was angry at the fish when they were slicing. Most things needed salt. Steak and fried rice was good, but the vegetables were pretty much raw. I can forgive quite a bit when it comes to service, especially on graduation/mother's day weekend. But honestly I'm a little impressed at how little the entire staff cared about their guests.

When I arrived, there was plenty of parking available. They had a private room space reserved for our group. The servers were friendly and attentive to our needs. They brought out complimentary bread and butter, which was served warm and fresh. We had a prefix menu to choose from which consisted of a salad, petite filet and a side item. I ordered the Caesar salad and filet cooked rare with flash fried green beans and paired it with a mezcal cocktail. The filet that I was served was a bit smaller than others, but my filet was cooked as requested and topped with butter. The filet was tender and exactly the protein I needed before race day. The green beans were so flavorful and had the perfect texture. The Smokey and the Bramble cocktail featured Fósforo Ensamble Mezcal, Bombay Sapphire Gin, lemon juice, blackberry purée, and club soda. It was a very refreshing and flavorful craft cocktail that paired well with my meal. Great atmosphere for a group dinner and the service kept everything moving smoothly for our team. Definitely a great choice for an event!

The Seafood Fondeaux was excellent, easily the standout of the night, but the garlic bread…read moresituation was baffling. When we needed more, it was brought without hesitation -- and then quietly added to the bill. If the ratio of fondue to bread is that mismatched, maybe adjust the portioning instead of nickel‑and‑diming guests for something that should accompany the dish in the first place. The steaks were a consistent miss. A New York Strip ordered medium rare came out closer to medium, and both the bone‑in ribeye and the filet followed the same pattern. The flavor was fine, but every cut was cooked past the requested doneness, which defeats the point of ordering specific temperatures at a steakhouse. The chicken fried chicken was decent but forgettable, with the texture of something that spent a little too long under a heat lamp while the steaks were being overcooked. Nothing about it stood out. Aside from the amazing fondue, nothing reached the level of exceptional -- and in a city surrounded by genuinely great steakhouses, this felt like exactly what my associates expected when they pushed for a chain instead. The whole experience fit the standard chain‑restaurant aesthetic a little too well. And since this is another Landry's property, I'm already prepared for the standard corporate message they paste under every non‑glowing review. I've seen it enough times recently to recite it, so they can save themselves the keystroke.

The biscuits were amazing, and both the spinach omelette and the over‑easy egg were cooked perfectly. The whole place felt bright, clean, and relaxed. Our server, Malcom, was fantastic and really made the visit stand out. The coffee was solid too, and it looks like they've got plenty of gluten‑free options. We'll definitely be back to check out their brunch.

New items! How exciting: I had not been here for a couple of months. This time I decided to try their matcha- it comes topped with a chocolate pistachios cream (this was a bit too much for me, my daughter liked it) and the matcha was also too sweet for me, but very flavorful. For our main dish I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my daughter ordered biscuits and gravy. My dish had 4 small shrimp (which I ate) a lot of anduille sausage bits, and a lot of flavorful sauce over these soupy cheesy grits that was not what I expected. It was served as a "soup" with a spoon. There was some toasted bread on the side of the bowl. While everything was very flavorful, I did not like the soupy consistence, it was unexpected for me. My daughter's biscuits and gravy, on the other hand, needed more gravy... she liked the dish but she felt her gravy was too little for the serving. Then she also ordered a half order (1) pancake with cinamon roll French toast and we took that home. It had good flavor! Overall, I enjoyed the food, the flavors were good, the prices have definitely gone up a LOT. 3 stars for good flavor as expected- but I was not "blown away"... but yes of course I would come again! Enjoy!
