Honestly pretty surprised to find all the negative reviews on here about this location, but hey, maybe I've just been lucky on my multiple visits here. I've never had a problem with service at all. Nothing stellar, but definitely far from bad service. I'm greeted, and my order has always been taken kindly and promptly, that's always a plus in my book. The food....is GREAT. No matter if I come for breakfast or lunch or dinner, I always always always get the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad, simply because they're so damn good. Lately I've been getting the combo where I pick a sandwich, soup, and side. I forget what the sandwich is called but it has shredded chicken and bacon along with some other toppings, and get the tomato basil soup and Caesar salad as my sides. I love it! I'll definitely be coming back, especially since it's relatively close to where I live. read more

While I was waiting to place my to-go order, the employee who was slicing bread, was eating pieces of the bread as she sliced and sorted it! She did have gloved hands, but used those same gloved hands to eat the bread she was cutting for customers. When a different employee came to take my order, I told her about the other employee eating bread. She responded that the other employee "did that all the time" and that they had "told her not to do it before." I was disgusted, but placed my order, and then asked the cashier to speak with the bread-cutting employee now. She did, but they were both nonchalantly taking it as a big joke! I tried to get the attention of one of the employees behind the other counter and was not successful - two employees were talking to each other and ignored me. Ladies who lunch on a budget lunch at La Madeleine in Meyerland Plaza. As a lady luncher who's introducing her youngest sister to the world of lunching (happy 13th, sis!), we stopped by the neighborhood spot this afternoon. I wanted to go somewhere nicer, but in 13 year old world La Mad is as nice as it gets and the birthday girl gets to choose. The food is pretty whatev, nothing too special, but the soup...oh the soup! You can't go wrong with the tomato basil, drizzled with cheddar cheese, and accompanied by delicate bread slices. I've been ordering this bad boy since I was a wee teen, one who used to think La Mad was as fancy as it got in the Meyerland burb. And since it was little sis's birthday, I sent her off to the pastry section to pick her treat. She ordered a chocolate croissant and I order a mini strawberry cheesecake parfait. I really appreciated the mini sizes of everything--from tiramisu and muffins, to croissants and cake. It makes the guilty pleasure a little less guilty. read more

I usually start a review of a place at three stars and work my way up or down. Just a bit of back story on why this location gets one star. I went in to purchase a loaf of fresh baked bread to go with a home cooked meal. They had four types of loaves, Sourdough, Country Wheat, Seven Grain and something that looked like Rye but didn't have a label. While I waited in line to order, I decided to go with the Sourdough to compliment the meal. I then waited at the register as three employees engaged in small talk...which is fine if the bread was FREE. Ok, so I'm upset at this point and a manger had to point out that "someone" was at the register. I get my bread and leave thinking about how the bread better be mighty tasty to off set the sub standard service I received. No such luck. I would recommend the Sourdough at Randall's or HEB before ever going there again for the sourdough bread because it was not sour enough. If you're looking for a very mild tasting sourdough then this is the place to get it. I've looked at the menu and the current reviews indicate an average experience so I don't think I'll be going back any time soon. edit: This is for service at the counter and not while dinning in. edit2: I was contacted by the manager and received an apology and a free meal due to the service so I bumped up the review a star because they are trying. I like this place for lunch, and so does everyone else in Meyerland. We're talking hand to hand combat to get a table in the noon hour. Ordering is a bit chaotic. You're expected to know to place an order for hot entrees with the lady holding a palm pilot but stand in line to get salads, quiche, and soup, and if you don't know that, people can be a bit snippy. Once you've fought for a place to sit and eat, the food is pretty good. Nobody is going to mistake this for dining in Paris, but it's reliable and good. The soup is perfect for a winter day. Just know what you want when you get in there and know how to order, because the regulars in line have no patience for those who do not. read more

So I ate here today. I really enjoyed it. I also have no idea this is a chain and I guess they are all over the place, which is good to know considering when I think of "fast food" chains it is more on the unhealthy side of things. But I got the smart choice roast beef deal. This is a 1/2 sandwich and fresh fruit with either soup or a salad all for under 500 calories. Not bad for a quick light type of lunch. I got the vegetable soup which was pretty good and the fruit was fresh. The sandwich was alright, nothing to really write great things about. But the decor is nice and had fun learn french titles in the bathroom. Overall I would come back or go to another location. The food isn't the greatest but not bad at the same time. If you are in the area or see one on the road and are hungry I'd say you should check it out. read more

Well, I can't comment on the food at this particular one, because the service was deplorable so we left. We lived near the one in Rice Village so would walk up there often. They are excellent. We were shopping in Meyerland so stopped in to have lunch. They were jam packed. Their set up is different from the one in Rice Village so we asked one of the employees preparing food where to order. He literally ROLLED his eyes at us!!!! What just happened? Another employee intervened and told us where to order. We told the manager and he didn't have much to say so we left. I guess from the volume of customers that were in there, they don't need the business. I emailed the company and never heard back. Rice Village location...MUCH better! read more

While waiting at the front counter to pick up my "to go" order, I saw a roach on the counter and told the cashier. He nonchalantly put a plastic cup over it to drag it onto the floor and stomp on it. Needless to say, I told him I no longer wanted the food, which of course he did not have a problem with, and I left. What a pity...I used to love eating at La Madeleine. FOOD POISONING REPORT #2 My girlfriend had eaten at this restaurant on a Wednesday, and it was the only establishment she had gone to that day. She got the turkey and provolone, a cup of french onion soup, and a cup of pasta salad. It is now Saturday, and she is STILL suffering from symptoms of SEVERE food poisoning. I'll spare the details, but everything that Joe K. mentions down below has been prevalent. We've sworn off this place now and will certainly not return. There does seem to be a wide variety of types of food in total, but the sandwich and 2 sides combo does give you a nice sample of what seems to be the signature menu items: the sandwiches and the soup. The turkey bistro sandwich tastes nice but is a little tough to handle due to the bread type and cut. The tomato basil soup was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. This place just keeps going down. Food quality is poor, salads come out wilted, customer service is horrible. We use to come here once a week but as the service turned we stopped coming as often. Today mom wanted soup so we decided to come here. No one in line so they are not busy. The guy at the computer was rude and couldn't take our order properly. After about 5 mins he got the first time in and another 5 mins he got the second one it but wrong. I wanted a salad and they lady was trying to make the same salad for as long as we were in line if not longer. They were there before we got in the line. To order. We waited and waited for her to make the salad as she kept staring over and over. Some guy in a blue shirt with grey hair and a beard. I assume the manager just stood at the register and stared at us waiting. After about 5 more mins I gave up on the salad and decided I didn't need to eat lunch and went to the guy to pay for my moms food. He asked if I needs anything else and I said well we could start off with better customer service and I wanted a salad but I got tired of wishing in line. He looks at my letter and goes ok a crepe and mushroom soup your total is $$$ I was like well even worse Serive from the manager. Got the food we did order and the soup wasn't good and the crepe was made wrong. The only good thing about this place is the nice guy that buses the tables. He's always nice. EMPLOYEES MOVE AT A LETHARGIC SLOW PACE at the to go section. Employees should consider hustling when they see the line getting larger, but instead they choose to move at a snail pace and some of them look like they are on something. They are not attentive or cheerful at all and forget to put utensils in the bags for to go. Overall good food but poor customer service and the employees should consider the customers needs and should be more alert. I was expecting to be in and out since I had ordered it online but ended up standing there for an unusual amount of time which further disappointed me. We love La Madeleine but this location has problems. We went yesterday about 4 PM with a party of four. We gave our order at the front and when we got to the register it was all screwed up. They finally got it right and we went to our table. Then the waiter brought over only one sandwich. I went to inquire and stood about 10 minutes waiting and gave up. Then after another 10 minutes the manager came over and finally got it right and gave us a $10 gift card to make up for the mix up. Then I went to the bakery display to redeem my card and was ignored for at least 10 minutes. Two customers waiting behind me gave up and left. It's a shame because we love the location on Westheimer. Went to breakfast after church. The line was very short and moved rather quickly. It is cafeteria style where you order, grab a tray, move down the line, and find your own seat! I created my own egg white omelette with bacon, spinach, mushrooms, and tomato's. This came with a croissant, which who doesn't love buttery bread. Lol I also ordered a potato gallette and a lemon tart. Potatoes, cheese, and onions how can you go wrong? It was yummy and not overly cheesey. Now I love lemon tarts. This one was creamy, not very tart at all. I could have gone for a little more tart. The whip cream was good...but there was a LOT of it. I will definitely go back. read more

I have been going to La Medeleine for years now, and let me just explain to you how delicious their Chicken Ceasar Salad is..... No words can explain! It is simply delicious, you have to try it. Hands down my favorite Chicken Ceasar Salad I have ever had. The chicken is so warm that it goes perfectly with the cold lettuce. It is pretty big, so if I am not very hungry I will get a small salad and small Tomato Basil Soup which is also outstanding. Its pretty casual so you can pick up or go sit down. Their deserts and bread are also very scrumptious. Just a warning though, dont hang your purse on the chair....there are some snatchers that hang out there! read more

I had ordered la Madeline from door dash for my little girl and she was disappointed with how her order turned out. I called the location and Chelsea couldn't find my order, so I said screw it nevermind. A couple minutes later Chelsea calls me back because she took the initiative to call door dash and figure out what the problem was even though she didn't have to, that's like unheard of. Then she remakes my order and gives me a refund just to make sure I was satisfied. Chelsea you went above and beyond! I ordered a pasta la Madeline with salmon and halfway home I realized they gave me chicken. Due to lent I cannot eat red meats or chicken at the moment therefore I had to drive back to get my meal redone. The manager approached me in a very unprofessional way stating "what's wrong with your pasta " no apology or even a greeting.... I understand it can get busy before noon but waiting over 20 minutes for my order to be fixed is outrageous.
