I have been coming to this McAllister's deli for years now and, no shade to anybody who's ever worked here, but they usually get my order wrong. I blame this on the computer system because I get substitutions so they get the list of what I add, but they usually forget items typically on the sandwich thinking the customer wants just new stuff. Well, as per usual, my sandwich was made wrong, BUT not only did Alondra and Benji fix it completely, but were the nicest and most professional ever. Great people working here. McAlister's, if you're reading this, I just want you to know that Jason's Deli kicks your ass all up and down the street, around the corner, and twice on Sunday. I ordered the New Yorker sandwich, which (weird sentence so far) is corned beef and pastrami on marbled rye with Swiss cheese and spicy mustard. This sandwich did not cut the mustard. They forgot the Swiss cheese and the pickle spear. The marbled rye (sounds like a great idea and the picture looks delicious!) was sliced thin and soaked in grease. The meats tasted like they came out of a can. I was going to ask for the Swiss cheese and pickle, but I couldn't wait to get out of there. I normally love McAllister's! However, I was not at all impressed with this location. I tried ordering two different things when I walked in and I was told they were out of both items. I then asked if I could substitute my turkey for chicken and was told that was not an option even though I had been able to before. I like McAlister's a lot and wish there was a location closer to me. I wasn't even aware of this location until we decided to eat here the other night. The employees at the counter were very friendly and patient while we decided on what we wanted to order. I had the McAlister's Club Wrap with chips. The wrap was really good. The honey mustard gave it a nice flavor. I've had the potato salad before and it's really good but I wanted something different for my side this time. My friend had the Ultimate Nachos and said they were good. It's unusual for a deli to have nachos, but it certainly sets them apart from other delis. I love McAlister's iced tea and didn't realize they have flavor options (peach, black cherry, and strawberry). I opted for regular unsweet tea with lemon slices. Their tea is up there with Chick-fil-a. It's never bitter! The employees were so great! They brought our food out to our table quickly and checked on us while we were eating to see if we needed anything. They bused our table so quickly too when we were done eating. Mc Alister Deli National Ice Tea Day My favorite drink is the Arnold Palmer iced tea. It's always fresh brewed tea at McAlister deli. Today I also went for the Harvest Chicken Salad sandwich on a croissant. Chicken salad at its finest. McAlister's needs to bring back the PecanBerry Salad. Like seriously. It's the first thing I had at this location and I'll be honest in saying that I haven't been back since they discontinued it. As delicious as it is, I only gave 4 stars due to the inconsistency in salads each time I ordered. One day, the salad would be a perfect 5/5, whereas other days, they were out of ingredients and I had to inquire about it before being given an alternative option. There was always ample amount of chicken, the fruit was fresh, and I absolutely loved the raspberry vinaigrette. The candied pecans were the perfect addition. I imagine the other salads are the same -- big in size, full of protein (if ordered), and made with fresh ingredients. Customer service was always stellar every time. It's a new location, so I'm glad to see it's off to a great start. I'm sure the PecanBerry will make its way to the menu again (probably a seasonal item), but I'll try to bring myself to try some other menu items in the meantime. read more

Less than an hour later, I had a terrible stomach ache, and vomited and had diarrhea. I'm not sure if it was undercooked or just old and expired but I will never go to any McAlisters ever again. This was a really nice place with very attentive staff, if not overly attentive, because many people don't realize it's open due to all the construction around this place. I like the variety of sandwiches and the combos where you can mix and match things. They do have unique tastes on classics like muchroom soup, which tastes like portobello mushroom, which gives the soup a distinct flavor. The only comparison I'll make to Jason's Deli is that you may not feel full after the combo. With the McAlister's you get the soup and sandwich. Jason's Deli will still add chips, which won't make you feel like you haven't eaten anything. It's not a knock against them, but something you should consider. I'm interested in coming back here again, once it gets busier, because you'll have a better idea of how attentive the staff is once it is busy. For now enjoy it, because once people realize it's open, it'll be packed. read more

I placed a order for lunch and it was not complete in the worst way. My order was missing the pickle spears, what's a BLT or any sandwich from a deli with out the pickle spear on the side! I was missing the raspberry vinaigrette for my salad, I had a dry and unpleasant salad I could not even eat. Obviously, I was at work now so I couldn't go back. I placed 6-8 calls into the store. All I got was ringing no way to leave a message or nothing. Still no fix for their error. The order was an ease to place online and the guy at the counter was extra nice and had great customer service. I just wish more attention was put into completing a order. Forget the napkins or a straw no biggie but the items that tie together a meal and make it complete is a failure. I've been to several McCallister location, but the location in Stafford, TX is horrible. The service is horrendous. No one does curbside. I've always had to get out my vehicle to pick up my food when it's CURBSIDE! There has been a couple times where my food was missing or they "can't find it" & when I went to ask about it the responses I would get is "well I don't know what to tell you" or "I don't know" or "what do you want me to do about it". Like seriously!? And this has happen more than once. I am fed up with the service & will no longer be buying from this location anymore. The staff is horrible, & the atmosphere is horrendous. Went on 7/15 during lunch, and will not be returning. The service was horrible, the food was basic, and at one point the manager said, "Stop taking orders for five minutes so we can catch up." Who does that? The young woman behind the register was drinking a beverage while taking orders, and she scratched her hair as she was making drinks. I understand we were hit by a hurricane last week, but if they were not prepared to open they should have stayed closed because it is not fair to customers...I would have gladly went somewhere else and not waisted my time. First let me say I love McAlister's food. Most of the time their service is impeccable as well. However, I keep coming back to this location and it continues to disappoint. The food is always good (when it's right) but the service has become deplorable. I appreciate that many many service type businesses are struggling right now with staffing and so I have tried to give grace and slack when they take 30 minutes or more to prepare my food (which is usually soup and nachos). I've talked to the manager on duty a couple of times. The first manager was apologetic and personally greeted me the next time I came in (did I mention I go here multiple times a week every other week when I'm traveling). The current manager behaves as if she'd rather be anywhere BUT McAlister's. Today was my last straw and that's why I decided to write the review. I placed an order online for curbside pickup. I arrived to pick my food up. In the past, an employee greeted me almost immediately. Today I wait 5-10 minutes and no one showed. I tried calling. Phone rang and rang with no answer. I thought - wow - they must really be slammed even though the parking lot is essentially empty. So I decided to go ahead and go inside. I found my order sitting on the to-go shelf - incomplete. Missing my drink and several food items. I flagged someone down to get it corrected. The biggest reason why I'm writing this - the place was NOT busy at all. I've been in there when it's busy. There was no line and employees were just standing around. REALLY? Not the standard I think McAlister's is known for and what they expect from their locations. Again food is still good but service has seen a huge decline. Don't go if you have somewhere you need to be. No guarantee you'll get there with food. read more

Just a very unprofessional location, I checked Apple Maps hours and the locations main website hours to see if they were open. Of course it's Friday so their open until 9:00pm. I just got off a 12 hour shift on Friday craving Mccalisters Deli so I arrived by 6:20pm. The whole store is closed, with no reason why it's closed. I checked the store hours online and on the store front (holiday hours flyer) and they said closing time is by 9:00pm on Friday. So the store closing with no explanation just flatlined all my expectations of this place and I hope it stays close and never opens again. What kinda food store closes by 6:00 pm on a Friday at least warn your customers beforehand. Just very unprofessional in my opinion. read more
