I have picked up to go orders from here many times now, and have not had a negative experience. The food is consistent with other locations. The customer service is on point. The food comes out quickly and correctly. I can always find decent parking. This is a new location and thus set up differently than older locations. It does not have the long bar to walk down with tray in hand, or have the salads and other foods on display. I prefer to come to this location to pick up food than the one on Woodway due to better parking. read more

My previous experience here only involved their chocolate cake, this was my first time dining in. Walked in, got in line for the counter service. The lady helped the gentleman in front of me, and then left for about a minute. She returned with a rack of glassware, and then took my order. They may have been short staffed, she seemed slightly stressed out/indifferent to my order. I ordered the salate sampler, I chose the Tomato Basil soup, the Strawberry Spinach Salad, and the Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salade. I also got a mini lemon tart. The woman gave me my tart and cup for my beverage, and a numbered buzzer like device. I sat at a table after getting my beverage and some bread from the beverage station. My food did not take long to get to me, and the guy who brought it was very friendly. He did comment on the fact that they sent him out with a tart, despite the fact that I already had one. Miscommunication maybe? Tomato Basil Soup was good, hot and creamy and just enough basil. The Tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salade was just average in my opinion, but was improved greatly when I dipped it in the soup, which I'm sure is considered sacrilege, but it tasted much better that way. The Strawberry Spinach Salad was not good at all. Underdressed, and it had slices of mushroom that had definitely seen better days. I couldn't eat more than 1 fork full of it. The lemon tart was a delight, the texture was on point, and the lemon flavor was present but not cloying. Probably the best thing about my whole visit. Overall, I would visit again, but I would make different menu choices, and maybe stick to desserts as my primary directive when visiting. read more

Really good as usual. La Madeleine recently opened at this location. It's food is the great la Madeleine quality I've come to love. I was able to order my dinner online and pay for it online. I have never eaten a sandwich to date so tonight was the night to try it out. I ordered the turkey and a Brie. It was amazingly delicious. It contained Caramelized onions, apples and Brie. I visited this establishment yesterday for lunch; the food was very tasty & generous portion sizes. I was disappointed in the precautions that were being practiced or not to prevent the spread of Covid19. There was one dispenser of hand sanitizer on a table just inside of the entrance. I did not see any employee sanitizing any tables or chairs during the time that I was there having lunch. When a few customers got up to leave after dining, some employee came by to clear the dirty dishes & did a quick swipe of the table top with a dirty rag. If restaurants want to be open for business they are going to have to improve their practices for safe dining. read more

Brand new location. They have done a great job with the interior. Nice ironwork accents, fireplace, and compartmentalized rooms give a cozy feeling for your meal. Their staple french onion soup was very tasty on this cool night. The special mini cinnamon creme Brule was the perfect desert size and taste. We came in late, 20 mins before closing. I had a difficult day and I was very hungry. Usually, when I come in to any restaurant before they close, I get bad service, restaurant crews get upset with me. At la Madeleine was a completely different story. Server 10094 Robinson was extremely welcoming, kind, offered us suggestions, I mean what an outstanding service! Her smile was priceless! My pesto pasta was delicious, everything was perfect!! Here is my story: Let me start by saying that I am someone what of a habitual person. I go to La Madeline to get the same meal when I want it- Spinach Pochette, Tomato Basil soup & a side Caesar salad. Today they tell me that the Spinach Pochette is no longer on the menu, after nearly 2 decades of me ordering it... After having to get out of line to read the menu and apparently annoying the cashier... I just get a chicken caesar salad and a cup of soup since nothing else sounds good at all... me and my coworker sit on the outdoor patio, we get our meals. The chicken on my salad is as dry as a desert and looks like roadkill- it was a bunch of cold chicken pieces SQUISHED TOGETHER. Gross? so after trying it I just pushed it to the side and continued to eat the lettuce... When I had enough, I placed my fork across my plate, waiting for a server to come collect it so I could let them know how terribly sad the chicken was. Instead... a random man walked up to us from the other side of the patio fence - he looked fairly put together but very dazed- he mumbled to me, looked at out table, mumbled some more as we tried to ask him what he needed- then he proceeded to reach across the patio fence, across the entire patio table, GRAB MY CHICKEN from my plate... and walk away without another word. No employees could be found to tell about this- so my coworker and I ...just ... left... a random patron of the cafe commented to us that he has seen than man at the bar across the street so he isn't homeless... so he must just be a drunk. Pretty decent food for dinner. I go here sometimes for dinner when there is a BOGO free promotion. The place is clean and service is fast, which makes La Madeleine a good spot if you want to grab a quick dinner at a sit-down restaurant. Lovely upscale atmosphere doesn't help the weird vibe @ this location. Stingy portions, rude staff, dirty tables, poor service. All their servers--and most male managers, especially STEVEN who spends more time gabbing w/ the help than working--seem to have an attitude, like they're doing you a favor. I'm a loyal "Level Up" member and more than once I've been shafted by the managers and their staff, as if I'm trying to get away with something. Half the time they don't even know what the promotions are or how to apply the discount. DUH--get some training! Like the concept and food--but not this location. I have been going to this location since they opened and was pleased at first. The last three times I have placed and order for pickup it has been a nightmare when you go pick up the order. After waiting 20 minutes to go pick up the order I have to wait another 20+ minutes after arriving to receive the order which has been all 3 times. They use a call center to get the orders to the location and it looks like they don't get submitted as soon as you call. There is one of the ladies who usually works the pick up order area and she does not work well under pressure. While standing in line today for over 20 minutes to pick up my order, 2 other people standing in line waiting for a while to pick up their call in orders also, stated how un professional she was. The quality of service has deteriorated greatly at La Madeline. I wish the location on Voss were still open instead of this one. The cashier has a bad attitude and was incredibly rude when my friend and I went in for lunch today. My friend wasn't ready to order as soon as we had walked in, and the cashier yelled at us to "let her know when you're ready." The line cook in the back was unprofessional and mocked us loudly, stating that she was ready. The sausage felt like it was just defrosted. The cappuccino was made from a machine where you press a button which was also average. This is the worst La Madeleine in Houston. It is always jammed with people and service is slow. Parking is practically impossible and if you have a to go order there are no reserved spots where you can park and run in and pick up your order. The tile floor makes it loud and noisy. The chefs are hidden in a dark room behind the counter preparing food which reminds me of fast food places like IHOP, Denny etc., Tray are not there and causes inconvenience to pick up bread and butter and cream and paraphranalia. I come here a handful of times every month because I work a couple business suites away. When I first came to this location around the end of May, the service was pretty bad. I ran into a few rude people, however as of lately, I have been getting nothing but genuinely kind people ringing me up. They had a small line forming, and they opened a second cash register to remedy the problem. The girl bringing my food out had a smile on her face two feet wide and thanked me for coming in.
