    Welcome bottle of wine

I wish I could give a 10 star review. This boutique hotel is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in the door until you depart, you are well taken care of. Breakfast was beautifully laid out, their happy hour was perfect with snacky treats and beer/wine. As of this review that is all included! La Maison is located just a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs and centrally located. So many small restaurants to patronize in the area. I'd rather support a mom and pop establishment rather than a chain. The cherry on the cake for this review is Blanca. She is the heart of the property. Believe every nice thing written about her. Hand-feeding the humming birds is a treat to watch.

One of the baby hummingbirds on the property!

If you are looking for a place in Palm Springs to slow it down and put it into neutral, this is the place! A homey feel from the moment you step onto the property. Blanca is your host and has been with the property for 30 years. She is absolutely WONDERFUL! It has a Mediterranean/European vibe and you can get lost in the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere. It is not fancy or hip, it just sort of feels like home. It punches far above its price tag! From the Continental breakfast, to the afternoon "Happy Hour" when Blanca provides beer, wine and light bites, this place offers a chance to recharge your batteries. The rooms are not to big, not too small. The beds are super comfortable and you really cannot hear other guests. We ended up chatting and getting to know many of the guests. It was a fabulous experience! I highly recommend La Maison Hotel to everyone! Just don't bring your kids please! :)

La Maison was exactly what we had been looking for! The weekend didn't quite start out that way. We planned for a relaxing Palm Springs getaway, checked in to a popular resort Friday evening only to be met with loud crowds and droves of young families. It didn't take long to realize we made a bad choice. A friend suggested La Maison, an intimate, 13 unit, adult only oasis centrally located in Palm Springs! I made reservations on line but called Saturday morning asking about an early check-in. Kyle answered. His kind demeanor and willingness to accommodate was so refreshing! It was clear things were looking up! After arriving, although Kyle was busy, he took time to make us feel at home offering us all he could before our room was ready. In no time we were directed to room # 2, a suite nestled in the corner of this cozy refuge. Our suite was spacious with Saltillo tiles, quartz countertops and plenty of lighting. An inviting over stuffed pillow top king bed was a focal point when walking in! Inside the closet we found thick robes, unique magazines plus a mini fridge stocked with waters (sparkling and still) plus kombucha. A wet bar offered multiple types fine glass stemware accommodating your drink of choice as well as a bourbon decanter ready for your sampling! What a nice touch! Every thing was spotlessly clean and maintained. This being said I would be remiss not to mention Blanca! She's been a fixture at La Maison for nearly 30 years taking great pride in all she does. She wears many hats, you cannot miss her when visiting... she's the one who never sits still! lol!!! She made us lovely cappuccinos in the morning while spiffing up seating areas and watering plants all at the same time while smiling! This place is has so many special touches i can't name them all but most notable is Kyle and Blanca. Hat tip to the both of you. Well done!!!!

    bathroom, so clean!

Loved my stay! Super quiet and relaxing space. It was so clean and staff was so friendly - thank you Kyle!

When I walked in I asked where do I check in because the area was giving bar, the guy with the curly pony tail said right here do you have a reservation. I politely told him no because I wanted to see what the vibes were like before booking & kinda laughed, he didn't crack a smile just looked at me like I was bothering him lol so I'm like ok so can I check in here he then says no, you have to do it online but let me tell you the cheapest room we have. Woah woah woah lol what made you think I was looking for cheap ?!! Umm ok so he gives me the quotes for upstairs and down stairs which has a fire place. Funny enough I had always planned on the patio and fire place which was more expensive because it's my birthday I wanted to get some content. Any ways I went online to start the booking and checking in, the price was significantly cheaper than what he quoted me, no biggie as I was putting in my information he handed me a card and said have a seat over there. I was literally damn near done but I guess he didn't want me at his counter any longer so I took the card and slid out the door and went to my car and drove 3 hours back home lol. I guess it wasn't so much what was said but how it was said. The vibes were just off and it scared me away. I get it sometimes dealing with the public is draining but don't give me the energy I'm not giving you! This was my first solo trip so I was nervous and extremely polite on purpose because I'm traveling alone. In case of emergency I would like to think staff care about their guest.

The pool was filled with cloudy bluish green water... I reported this to management on the second day, they followed up with I'm sorry, I would be disappointed as well, and that they will have their pool and maintenance team on it right away... That was just something to say try to make me feel better, never once during our stay did pool maintenance or pool cleaning company come and test the water or try or attempt to clean the pool or Hot Tub. The whole idea was to get away from the busy world and to come out to Palmsprings to soak in the pool and Hot Tub was a complete failure... Although our check-in process with Paulina was pleasant, the management and the ownership completely dropped the ball, and clearly showed that they do not care about the cleanliness of the pool, I am confident that if sanitary testing measures were taken, the pool would be shut down due to the filthy nature of the water and disgusting body scum ring. There are 1 vending machine only had Diet Coke left, and the snacks were stale. I would not recommend the dunes.

The property is small but quite nice. But there is a spa past the "guests only" sign, away from the pool, so that's at least an option. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Reminded me of a casita. Shower is huge and has great pressure. Pocket doors all around, nice. Hot tub in back is killer and having a fire pit next to it makes the backyard lounging even more inviting on a crisp night. Free breakfast is full of solid choices. Not-free food and drinks are good but, holy hell, is it overpriced. I hate that we're at a place where drinks are $20 on average for alcohol that hasn't been getting more expensive. General hotel layout was nice, felt vintage and was a refreshing twist. Room layout was interesting, tv was placed in front of the couch so you can't watch tv in bed. When first entering our room: 1. Bathtub was paint was chipped and the faucet was leaking as well. 3. The kitchen utensils were not clean. Forks, glasses and even the roll of paper towels were found dirty or used. The extra rolls under the sink were unwrapped. When coming to our room a few hours after check in, calling customer service (calling three times) took more than an hour, just for us to be told that the lighting and cleanliness issues will be solved in the morning. Was really looking forward to the experience but upon our first few hours, we felt unwelcome, uncomfortable and turned off of our whole stay. Especially when faced with the lack of cleanliness in the restroom, if our bathtub could be so apparently dirty, what else could they have missed? We were forced to spend the first few hours fixing up our room before starting to feel comfortable. This meant scrubbing the bathtub, washing every dish and checking every surface. With the lengthy and detailed check in process, we were really expecting a quality, travel worthy experience. Instead, it felt we were greeted with an unclean, uncomfortable welcome. As guests, it was made obvious to us that customer service was not at the forefront of our experience. Having decentralized customer service (through phone numbers and apps) made us feel so unattached from the actual experience.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience.
