I was in town for the Artomobilia Event. I walked in around 3:30 in the afternoon and was greeted immediately and offered a table. The place was extremely clean for a place that I have seen packed all day. My waitress was an amazing young lady who took great care of me. She offered a couple recommendations which I ordered. Not only were the tacos here very tasty but a good value for the money. I also ordered the margarita of the month, which was very tasty. I would come back if in the area and enjoy some more tasty tacos or burritos or bowls. read more

We love the Social Cantina in Carmel. It feels like vacation every time we visit there. I want to highlight our most recent visit when our family of 12 celebrated Father's Day. The restaurant easily accommodated us is a separate area that was near the restaurants and a long booth bench on pine side. Perfect for our four five and under. Our server Hannah was cheerful and knowledgeable and was an asset to our celebration. Our food and drinks were delicious. We got the margarita tower (twice). It is delicious and definitely a statement (And the bartender certainly has a great sense of humor)! We all had delicious food. I tried the Korean chicken bowl as a salad (I love that you can order rice or lettuce for the bowls). I tried avocado with ahi tuna appetizer and could easily make that a meal. If you think Asian/Mexican fusion is not a thing, think again. We will be back to the Carmel location as well as the Indy location. We've been curious about social cantina ever since it opened. I took my mom here for a Mother's Day lunch without a reservation. I was shocked when it was barely busy. Our server was a nice girl, but extremely slow service. We had to ask for everything--straws, more water, more chips. She checked in on us maybe twice during our whole meal and didn't deliver our food. Food was pretty mediocre and had little to no seasoning. I'm still not 100% sure that the Margarita actually had alcohol in it as it was incredibly weak. The chips and dip flight is pretty cool in theory, but the queso and guac are the only dips that I would get. Everything else is just...meh. Your run of the mill Mexican joint at the corner will have better food and service than here. I would probably go somewhere else unless you're just looking for a cool vibe. read more

We love Social Cantina! We love it for a casual night out where we can walk on the monon and grab a bite after. It's family friendly and the patio is dog friendly. My favorite taco is always the ahi taco, but I've enjoyed many others! My husband is obsessed with the birria tacos. I also love the blueberry basil margarita, or sometimes I'll do a flight. Such a vibrant and fun spot! The decor really makes the whole experience feel lively, and the staff was so nice and welcoming. We ordered three drinks for the table, and unfortunately only one person truly loved theirs, which was a bit of a letdown. Randomly stopped in here for what I thought was going to be a cool margarita to help offset the extremely hot day. Upon walking in, it felt like a total vibe. It was a Sunday late afternoon but it felt like a Mexican lounge. The music was ON POINT, the sun was shining in, the staff felt fun, you could tell the people that were there were having a great time. There were couples, girlfriends catching up, first dates (verified by a casual conversation), and solo just sitting in there enjoying a meal. So what I thought was going to just be a drink, quickly made me want to stay longer. We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers, drinks and two meals. All were fantastic. The chicken burrito was definitely my favorite, but the tacos weren't too shabby either. Our server made us feel very welcome and offered suggestions when we were torn on what exactly to order. The bill was a little over $100 with the tip but again that included the chips and salsa sampler, 2 meals and 2 drinks, and in Carmel, so I'd say not badly priced. They do have outdoor seating which is nice and street parking. We lucked up and found a parking spot near by, but not sure where you park if you didn't luck up on a spot. read more

To start - Service was good. We had a party of 6 on a Saturday night, so I can understand them being busy. We ordered chips and salsa and a pitcher of margs at the same time. The marg pitcher came... but not the chips and salsa. The chips and salsa came at the same time as our meals. They did comp it as it took so long. Our meals came out - most were lacking in flavor and some were missing toppings too. Meals were generally disappointing. We've had much better experiences in the past, so we'll likely be back, but will likely give it some time until then. read more

Go here for the birria tacos! They have fun tacos of the month, November is a Thanksgiving taco. Love the creativity. Tried the chorizo appetizer and it was okay. They daily drink specials, we went and they had a $25 margarita pitcher. Great location for the summer as they have outdoor seating. The social nachos are always delicious but it could have been a little more saucy. The chicken quesadillas lacked flavor and the tacos (fried avocado, mushroom, and Baja shrimp) were okay.
