I ordered a chicharrón it comes with cabbage, tomato, sour cream & cueritos. Avocado also but when I went I was told they ran out, which I said was okay. I dont recommend it, It was all soggy. My plate looked like soup from how much juice it had. I'm guessing from the cueritos when he scooped it on there. It gave me asco I ended up throwing away. I think even the dude that made it knew it looked nasty because I went back, asked if he can put cucumbers because it just seemed too plain. He said yes & he even offered to add more cueritos at no charge. I also got a single cone bubble gum ice cream, my son liked it. Over all, I wouldn't come back. Really bad customer service, I asked the guy behind the counter what I wanted, which was strawberry ice cream and he then was going to give me pre-scooped ice cream. I love esquimales and this place had them! I had the vanilla one with peanuts. It was $3, a bit pricier than other places, but it was also bigger in size. It was super delicious! My daughter had the mango paleta de agua and she also enjoyed it very much because she was done with it before we got home and she usually doesn't finish her paletas. This place is so GOOD!! They give free sample taste of their ice cream and drinks! I've tried their strawberry milk drink and it was so tasty! It's more on the sweeter side but the creamy-ness balanced it out. I also tried their moca ice cream which tasted similar to Vietnamese coffee! Also, their prices are very cheap! Español or English - friendly and happy service!!! Recommendations: Ice cream: Nanche, limon, beso de angel (beware if you're allergic to raisins or walnuts) or mamey. Their ice cream is made straight from fruits and sometimes, you can see the fruits right outside. Paletas: Nanche/Mamey. Cons: Their ice cream prices are expensive based on the location. Like, other ice cream places base their prices based on cup size, which is more logical. So you can get two flavors as long as they fit in the cup, but here, even tho the cup is small, if you ask for two flavors, you get less ice cream for the price. And it's in a Styrofoam cup, so it's not environmentally friendly (and cheaper for them, so it should be cheaper for us customers?) Another negative change is that they now add a lot more sugar to the ice cream and food coloring. I wish they would had kept the prior recipe- sticking to the natural, delicious sweetness and colors of the fruits. :'( (that's the only reason why I'm scoring 4/5) I've been coming to here for the past 10 years, until college temporarily separated us. The Good: Their paletas are amazing, you can't go wrong with a water based fruit paleta for less than $2. Their service is also great, nice employees and they let you taste ice cream flavors if you ask. The Bad/Room for Improvement: This place is tiny, you walk in, order and walk out because it can get crowded in there. I went on a hot day and some of the ice creams were melting. I came her once over a year ago then at that time didn't have Yelp. But I can say for sure with no doubt they have a great selection of real Mexican Pop Sickle. This isn't a crapy ice water junk you but at the grocery store. This is real Coconut and Mango, Fruit with Sugary Chile Limoncello type flavoured. Nobody has this in the store unless you go to Northgate, or Cardenas Mexican Markets. It's not unusual to see this type of places in the Suburban Cities but if your in East Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Santa Ana, Eastside San Diego, you'll see these types of markets. Yummmm!!!! I rarely get to come by El Monte area, but when I do, I look for a paleta place to try. It was a very hot day and I was worried if I came around 8pm, a lot of the options would be sold out like other paleterias I've been to. Lucky for me, they still had quite a number of options to choose from! I tried the Guayaba con leche and my tastebuds exploded with happiness and approval. They used real chunks of guava in their paleta! It was $1.25 for the one I got. I would definitely come back again when I'm in the neighborhood. I wish the cashier spoke more English though, or maybe I should learn how to order in Spanish. It was really difficult for her to let me know in English what ingredients were inside which paleta. But at least I managed to know how to say "Guayaba" and "con leche" lol. read more

My family and I stumbled upon this place after going to Great China Buffet nearby. So many flavors you can't find anywhere else: guanabana, mamey, nanche - and the paletas cost $1.75 each so you can save enough money to try them all! The fruity flavors actually have the fruit inside the paletas! So you know they're authentic, as opposed to some popsicles from the grocery store that are purely sugar, corn syrup, and dye. For the less adventurous, they also have cookies n cream (which is not shown on the menu). You also have the option of paletas con agua and paletas con leche, which is great for those lactose intolerant. The service was also so friendly and helpful with explaining the flavors. I was very disappointed on my last and only trip to this location. The clerk was not familiar with the types of ice cream that they had available. I requested a fresas con crema and he served us a rainbow sherbet (completely different ice cream). When I brought it to his attention he said that that's the type of ice cream that was available in the labeled area per managers label. He was not apologetic nor did he care to correct the order. Came here about 2 weeks ago and it was as good as all the other reviewers say. It's not some cutesy shop so there's its not really a place to sit and hang out. We bought about 10 paletas and just took them home. We store them in our freezer and just eat them throughout the week. Prices are decent. Definitely recommend :) read more

Definitely located in a sketchy part of town. I came here with friends craving ice cream and mangonadas and were very disappointed in the selection here. The paletas were icy and overly frozen and lacked variety. The mangonadas we pre-made and iced over as well. We ended up getting the mocha and guava ice cream and a strawberry agua fresca. The ice creams were too sweet and the Agua Fresca was watered down. This place gets two stars because the service was great and staff was very friendly. read more
