Hours of service say until 10 pm

Super unprofessional. Signs say 10 pm closing time on sundays, obviously this is a sign that today wasn't a good day. "Monica" tried to say they were closed, and yet all the doors were unlocked. We walked in and all the workers went straight to the back as if we hadn't. She tried taking out all the garbage bags after removing us from the store with well over ten minutes left. Understandable had it been 10 pm already, but we showed up during business hours with intention of spending good money. Prices here can get hefty, not very understandable why they weren't ready to conduct business.

Back in my hometown for a quick trip and had to stop at one of my favorite places for one of my favorite foods - homemade ice cream. Normally I go to the location on Mannheim Road which is nearer to the airport but when I stopped there the selection this time looked like they melted and got hard again as if something had been wrong with there freezer. Then the one in Mt. Prospect had ice crystals on it like they had freezer issues as well. So I opted for this one instead even tho it was a little out of my way. It was on point! It looks newer and bigger than the other two locations. A disappointing worked out for the better. A few different selections as well which was a bonus. I get to try something new. I had to have my all time favorite classic Rum Raisin. This time I paired it with a newbie which was Ferrero Rocher mixed with Nutella. They also have it without the Nutella which I like at the Mannheim location, ice cream tastes like the candy with candy pieces in it. This one was vanilla based ice cream with pieces of the candy in it. The flavor was a bit bland for me. I'm not a big fan of Nutella but mixed with Ferrero Rocher was a pretty tasty combo and paired well with my Rum Raisin. I always get my ice cream in there waffle cone as it very tasty and with a nice crunch to it. Customer Service was good. He was patient in telling me some of the flavors I didn't recognize and giving samples. Price was reasonable. A great visit and I'll surely return when I'm in town again. I highly recommend you try it too.

5 stars. By far, my favorite ice cream shop! I appreciate how friendly the staff is and how willing to answer questions. Some of the menu items are new to me and so I ask questions. My favorite flavor is nuez... it's chocked full of pecans! So yummy. I also like the pina colada... it's a perfect blend of coconut and pineapples. I put it in my banana spilt! I've tried soooo many flavors! The Nutella is delicious. The Ferraro Roche is fantastic. The tequila is interesting, not my absolute fav tho. The coconut is creamy & cool. So many, I can't even remember them all right now. And they pretty much have a popsicle to match each ice cream flavor. Speaking of...they have a daily special that will save you a few bucks. I think Wednesday is the banana split. I love the fruit waters! The mango, lime with chia, and watermelon are my favorites. Buy the large - you can thank me later! Best nachos in the county! Ask for peppers! The very best part is how clean this shop is! I've never seen it in disarray - even on a busy summer day. Everyone takes time to clean up behind themselves and ensure it looks pristine for the customer. I can only imagine that is the case in the kitchen where we can't see, as well. Be sure to join their new rewards program! Gosh, I really want some RIGHT NOW!

Yummy authentic Mexican ice cream and snacks. It was definitely popping on Friday night. While the wait times are a bit on the long side, the staff is courteous and helpful in explaining the different options available. Fruit and ice cream options are ample and look super fresh. The shop is as clean and well kept as can be! We got a couple paletas (ice cream bars) and they were both super delicious and affordable. Will come back to try more options for sure!

Great place, and I'm not sure why it took us so long to try, except for the novelty of it and all of the American ice cream competition.   On a pleasant summer evening, they were quite popular, duh.  We pass by here regularly and don't ever see much going on in the daytime, but yowsa there were non-stop customers lined up on this evening anyway. They have 53 flavors, many exotic looking, and the value here is quite good.  There's no website, so no studying of the flavors beforehand except via reading some Yelp reviews.  Also, the pricing was slightly cryptic as their e-board menu pricing is in Spanish, and there are no other posted cone prices.  Anyway, wife and I both got their 1.5 scoop waffle cone that the lady said would be about $4.  Wife got mango atop coconut scoops.  I got pecan atop Mexican chocolate.  It turned out the 1.5 scoop waffle cone was only $3.10 pre-tax, nice!  Both were delectable, with mine being maybe on the sweeter side than your typical American ice cream, and with a fresh waffle cone t'was a great deal.  We shall definitely return to try some other flavors.  There's no seating currently, so everyone took their servings back to their cars.  There is an adequately sized stripmall parking lot here so that's convenient.  A lot of customers tonight were also buying for their relatives and friends as there were many multiple item orders. I knocked back one star due to a culmination of a few little factors.  Though there were 3 attendants, service was on slower side tonight, as some more laborious fruity orders took a little time.  Cone pricing as mentioned was not clear.  There are a lot of flavors and it would be nice to have something out there either on a menu or on a website describing the Mexican flavors.  One doesn't want to ask or sample much when there are 20 people in line behind you. Also, in my tasty pecan scoop, there were some tiny but hard pieces (shell remnants?), so just watch your teeth on those.   Little things, but this place could easily be 5 stars.

First time here and I already think way better family ice cream chain than Baskin Robbins! Awesome variety of popsicles, ice cream, Mexican drinks like horchata, agua fresca, etc. There's clearly food coloring, flavors are on the cheaper side but you can taste the fruit in the ice cream too. A small cup can fit two big ice cream scoops and is more than adequate for an adult! Follow my list of recommendations! https://www.yelp.com/collection/8mCXaaKQAQ7hn-PPUG9iXQ?utm_content=Collections&utm_source=ashare

Large and small scoops. Small = 2.5 scoops.
    Tricia D.

Hola, me llamo Tricia y me gusta La Michoacana! Not your run of the mill ice cream shop here! Not only does LM serve fresh fruit popsicles in like 100 varieties (slight overexaggeration), but they have creative Mexican ice cream flavors like Mexican chocolate, arroz con leche, and guayabana. Chips and nacho type creations are also on the menu. I noticed a handful of fun candy flavors like colored M&M, Ferrero Rocher, and Snickers too. Each time I come in, I try a different flavor, but I definitely recommend the Mexican chocolate with its warm spices and twist on the traditional choc. A small size is 2.5 scoops of ice cream, and you can mix 2 flavors, which'll run you $4 and some change. It's a hearty serving!

Mangonada with lime, strawberry and watermelon sherbet
    Ruth H.

My first time at La Michoacana. Pros: I loved the variety of ice creams and fruit drinks and snacks! A few of us in my family were curious about the Mangonada. We tried it and it was good. If you like chile on fruits and tamarindo syrup on top of your ice cream/sherbet (you have a choice of 3 different flavors or you can choose just one), the mangonada is for you! Cons: The price was somewhat steep. Long lines and not too many employees to handle the crowd. Long wait.

    shows not open. it's currently 21:14 (9:14pm)

Closed Early. They've mentioned on the phone when called and in person it will close at 10pm. They need to fix this problem. They have about 7 customers wanting to purchase

If you're parked along the drive-thru line, it can be hard to get out of the spot with all the cars lined up behind you. Service is always super fast, no matter how many people are in line or waiting. There's a few benches so seating so you eat there. It's always brightly lit too. I've been there with a long drive thru line where cars are backed up on Rand Rd., but don't let that deter you from going- the car line moves super fast! Just pull up the menu while you wait so you know what you want when an employee walks up to your car to take your order. Speaking of the employees taking your order - they are all super friendly, they have a smile no matter how hot or cold it is outside, and they're so patient waiting for everyone to order. I think they must have a kindness, happy, friendly detector because this Andy's has all the nicest people working here. Even the people at the window and walk up! You see them working it together in harmony inside as they make each order. It is an impressive team, no matter what time of the day we go and how busy it gets! They work like really like their job AND each other (I'm kinda jealous!) The frozen custard is so smooth and creamy. It's perfectly flavored, we get the vanilla and have tried the chocolate which is decently chocolatey! They don't skimp on the toppings either. If anything, hubs says there's sometimes not enough ice cream to balance the amount of toppings. Service is excellent. Frozen custard is excellent. Wait time is great. Definitely a must go for dessert!

I had no idea by looking at the descriptions and from reading the Yelp reviews it looked like you couldn't really go wrong with any of them. I suggested to my son we do a taste test and he was game. We ordered 6 churros, which was all their flavors with the exception of the hazelnut since he has a nut allergy. As for dips we chose the dulce de leche and mexican chocolate ganache. Within the hour they were delivered in a pizza box and smelled so good. Unfortunately, the squirrels smelled them too and ate thru the box within the few minutes it took me to get to the door. While they only got thru some of the box I didn't want to take the chance of rabies so had to order again! This time I was waiting for the grubhub delivery driver (ordered directly thru Yelp) when he arrived. No churros for the squirrels, although there was plenty to go around because they are huge and gorgeous! They all kind of tasted the same to me- and all good! The Berry White (covered with fruity pebbles) was probably the most unique of all the flavors, but for some reason the rest of the fam didn't like it as much. Perhaps too sweet. which I personally never mind. We had the tough job of narrowing it down to 3 flavors so after a lot of taste tasting (and very full bellies) decided on The Jane, The Mau and The Aunt Rose. Both dips were good as well, but between the two we preferred the dulce de leche. My son hasn't been too into the party planning details, but dessert is something he gets excited about so he loved this activity and can't wait to have yummy churros at his party. And I bet they taste even better when they are nice and warm, which may be a reason to eat them at the parlor than get delivered in the future. And if i do make it to the parlor i have my eye on one of their churro ice cream sandwiches that look so delicious!

The store was very clean and well-stocked, I was very pleased with the selection of items for which I was shopping. When I checked out however, my pleasure changed to pure annoyance. The checker, Christopher, was less than stellar and quite frankly appeared to hate his job. I had a baguette from the bakery which was not marked (no one was around to help me so I bagged it myself). He called someone over who seamed to be a manager for a price check. I told him it was $2.79 to which he replied, he still needed it checked. So this person took my bread back to the bakery. While she was gone, he continued to ring up my order. As he was scanning, I discovered I forgot to put a duplicate item back. I asked him to please remove it, that I didn't need it. With an exaggerated gasp, he said he needed the manager. I apologized and said ok, I simply forgot to remove it. Then, another customer behind me started putting her groceries on the belt, and Christopher threw his hands up and pointed to the register next to him and said, "there's no one over there". The woman looked a little confused and continued to unload her groceries. At this point I was really annoyed and said, "perhaps you should find a job you actually enjoy". To which he replied, "just because I don't like my job doesn't mean I don't do it well." I think I said something like, I don't think you do it as well as you think you do. At this time the woman came back with my bread with a label on it and handed it to him. He sarcastically asked her for the key to void the item I didn't need and took that item off. I started bagging my own groceries so I could expedite my departure from your store. I'd like to mention, the person who went for the price check was then just standing there watching me bag my groceries (her ID on the receipt is #112). As I was paying, I looked at Christopher and leaned a little to the left so I could see his name tag. He actually turned away from me so I couldn't see it! (I found his name on my receipt.)
