    One Scoop Green Tea

Still keeping my review at 5 stars, but I finally got to try their Frescas Con Crema, so I'm updating my review. Sadly, I did not enjoy it! The ratio of strawberries to creme was way off imo. There was barely any strawberries and the cream was extremely sweet. There was also an alarming amount of condensed milk that sunk to the bottom of the cup. It was so sweet that I got a headache after finishing only half the cup, and ended up having to throw the other half away. :( Fresas con Crema is one of my favorite desserts and unfortunately did not like it from here. Nonetheless, you can't go wrong with their ice cream and I've continuously have come back just for their Green Tea and Ube flavors!

Really generous servings, it's a great deal if you ask me.

Mm mm mm the flavors are melting on my tongue. Literally. Really nice staff serving great tasting desserts and treats! Very cool setting with plenty of space for big gatherings too. 5 stars, recommend visiting! P.s. keep an eye out for generous promotions on their Instagram.

I missed self-recognizing my momentous 1300th review, so here's to #1302! Below are 1302 reasons to love La Michoacana Moderna... J/k. Who has time for all that, right? I'll give you 1+3+0+2 reasons: 1) sooo many options of ice cream and paleta (popsicle) flavors!! Bubble gym, ube, Ferrero Rocher, cookies 'n cream, birthday cake, pistachio, you name it! Takes eating the rainbow to a new level! 2) hearty servings! My "small" cup was $4.99 and easily lasted me 2 sittings. Yes, I did put my leftovers in the freezer bc I didn't want to stuff myself in 1 sitting and summon the heartburn monster. See picture. Of my ice cream cup. Not the heartburn monster. 3) you can mix flavors! Single scoop is $3.49 and only one flavor, but you can get 2 flavors in a small, and so on, etc. 4) fun, upbeat, energetic decor and interior! Think pastel pink, green, blue, yellow furniture, like something out of Candy Land. 5) clean interior and friendly staff! 6) Indian fusion inspired appetizers are also offered here as part of Moti cafe, so you can get your savory and sweet cravings out of the way. Definitely recommend!

    Chicken Tikka Pizza

This location is a combination of a La Michoacana and Moti Cafe. They do have an online ordering platform on toasttab that you can order items from Moti Cafe and La Michoacana as well. My first experience of Moti Cafe was in the city and it went really well. Ordering from here I had similar experiences. The chicken tikka pizza is definitely one of those things that are an acquired taste but I absolutely love it. It's a pizza that has a Tikka base sauce, green peppers, onions, mozzarella, garlic seasoning, Moti & Cilantro Lime sauces along with Chicken Tikka pieces. I personally wish they offered bigger sizes but the biggest size they have is the 12". If you get the 12" it's a thin crust pizza and if you get the personal size it's on a Naan Flatbread. I've had both and both are great. The chicken dumplings my brother and I both enjoyed as well. The sauce we liked best to accompany them was the Firecracker Sauce. Staff there was awesome, food was great. I definitely will be back. 5 all day!!!!

Went here twice this week! It's fairly new, super clean and cute. Love their Tikka pizza and elote pizza, we got small size naan pizzas and they were filling! Also got loaded fries and it was so crispy with unique seasoning and jalapeños for a little kick. I also loved their Guava agua fresca, very refreshing, and I don't think I've seen that flavor at other La Michoacana locations. I'm recommending this place to everyone!

Came in around 5PM today (just wanted to say the time to make sure to give some applause, for the employees cause I had excellent service and both guys were very kind! On top of that, I haven't used Yelp often but the quality of food here is just so amazing I had to download yelp and leave a review. My girlfriend and I got a slice of the tikka chicken naan pizza and also the samosa chaat. Ambiance and design of the place is cute. Overall a great place to grab really tasty food, I wouldn't just expect regular la Michoacana food here but so much more!

Instead of being the canned stuff you can tell they put both a lot of care and seasoning into it. We moved out to the burbs and I saw this one on Yelp...but was it related? I mean, they have two different websites, and the one for this location literally has on their website "Serving you at one location!" We weren't sure, but we were willing to give it a shot. We came early on a Saturday, and inside they had a picture of the one in Chicago, and street signs for Ashland and Roscoe, where the Chicago one is located. So it HAS to be related...right? But the menus looked a little different... We got started with the chips and salsa, and the salsa has a real kick. Note that you only get the first chips for free and more chips would cost more. My wife got a torta, and I got tacos with steak and eggs on it, while my kid got the kid's quesadilla meal. And sure enough, there were those beans. Not dry at all and super flavorful. Next time I need to do my wife's play and order double beans instead of beans and rice. My tacos were messy but cooked well, with lots of bits of steak. I was a little confused because I thought my kid's meal would come with a drink, but they charged for his lemonade. I assume it's because it was a special blended drink and not just from a soda fountain. Now that we know this is here, we'll definitely be back, especially seeing that they have a patio for warmer weather. Glad to see we have an option when we're missing our city days.

If you're looking for a unique taste of birria, this is the spot. Their birria pizza is hands down one of the best I've ever had--crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The rich, savory consommé perfectly complemented the tender meat and took the whole experience to another level. We also tried the loaded fries, which were generously topped and had a great balance of textures and flavors. Everything tasted fresh and indulgent without being overwhelming. I would 100% come back. There's a grocery store next door that I visit from time to time. Checked them out the other Sunday after church. Ordered chilaquiles with over easy eggs and a taco plate with different proteins. Rice and beans were extra and you should note their beans are whole black, not refried. Hence, their being certified Halal. The food is fresh, plentiful and bursting with flavor. Wish, wish I could have gotten the chilaquiles home sooner or just stopped somewhere to enjoy them hot. Green salsa had good flavor and the meal was seasoned well. Had asked for over easy eggs but turned out they made them hard. Bummer. I truly enjoy yolks mixed in. The tacos were good, two birria and one shrimp. During this cold season it's always grand to sip a birria consome. The shrimps contained within the taco were medium sized. I figure a two taco plate with rice and beans would be plenty of food. I'd definitely check them out again.

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.

I came here and ordered a bunch of food to try: Elotes -- street-style corn. The corn was kind of over-cooked as it was more mushy than crunchy Chips and guacamole -- plenty of guacamole. Seasoned well and the perfect crunchy to smooth ratio. Chips could have been more, which usually its the opposite; there's more chips than guacamole, but not in this case. Chips needed some salt. Chicken fajitas -- came out sizzling, as fajitas should be. The order came with ample amount of tortillas and overall, was great. Chicken cooked well, veggies were seasoned well. Fish and shrimp taco (seafood combo) -- I liked the shrimp taco over the fish. The fish was grilled Cheetos Burrito -- somewhat gimmicky, but it was your ordinary burrito, with some flaming hot Cheetos in it. The burrito came with shredded lettuce, refried beans, ground beef. Decent sized burrito, but not the football-size burritos that you may find in other places Dining area was decent-sized. It consisted of tables and chairs, as well as a couple of booths. Hot sauce in the self-served fridge if you like it spicy.
