I had an appointment in the shopping center and decided to stop by and pick up lunch on my way home. I ordered a combination chow fun for myself and pho ga without veggies for my kids, one with veggies for the old man. The gentleman that took my order was friendly enough. My family loved their pho ga and I was disappointed about my chow fun. I wasn't expecting breaded shrimp and greasy bland noodles. Their prices were a bit higher than I'm used to paying for noodles or pho. Spacious restaurant and nice decor. I would be willing to come back and dine in, but I'm not ordering chow fun here again.

Done here somewhat frequently. Nice ambiance and friendly service. Really enjoy the chow fun with shrimp. Also enjoy the shrimp chow mien. Good fresh ingredients in there more traditional items. The tofu curry and spring rolls are always good. Would recommend this for a fast and favorable meal.
Got seated immediately, surprised it wasn't busy, the food was great, great portions. Service was delightful, water consistently got topped off. It was cozy and quiet, able to easily talk without raising our volumes. Combination Pho was better than most places.
I ordered pickup and my order was ready on time and the staff iwas friendly. Sautéed beef tenderloin tips were tender and flavorful. I will order this dish again.
I'm upping my rating here because this was a markedly better experience than I had 4 years ago. I'm not sure if ownership changed, but they've had a great presence on social media as of late, and that coupled with the ever increasing number of 5 star reviews and delicious photos added to their Yelp page put them back on the radar. So while looking for a good spot for a group, we decided to give the a try again. Their Instagram had been showcasing oxtail and beef rib pho, and I had my heart set on the ribs. The presentation of the dish was very impressive, and it came with two tender beef ribs to be enjoyed with the broth and noodles. The beef ribs fell off the bone beautifully and had just enough hanging on to gnaw on. The noodles were well cooked and the toppings were also fresh. The broth itself was not my favorite of all time. Not bad but also not as rich and complex as those I tend to repeat over and over. I found it a bit bland and greatly benefitted from a hit of lime, some chili, and all the condiments. I still devoured the whole bowl. The calamari appetizer was damn good though. Nice and salty with tender squid rings encased in a light and crispy batter, accompanied by some wok tossed peppers, onion, and chilis, all of which ended up in my soup. My father in law got the grilled pork pho, and that caught my attention as something novel and new. I also noticed the pan fried noodles on the menu and coming from the kitchen, which looked phenomenal! I'd like to come back and explore more of the Menu outside the pho. Maybe that's just not my thing here and something incredible is waiting to be discovered!
Fast service, tasty food. Seems to be a well known stop for the community. We are happy to have discovered it. It was a bit cold sitting in the middle of the restaurant as the door swung open and the cold draft came in. If possible, snag a booth! We enjoyed crab Rangoon for appetizer, and a variety of dishes for dinner. The Mongolian beef stood out as the favorite but all were enjoyed. Happy to see chili sauce and sriracha at the table since the food wasn't spicy enough for us. A solid stop for a variety of Asian dishes!
What great service! I had called to make sure the wait wasn't long on a Saturday night, and when we arrived, they had a table waiting for us! That's 5-star service in my book. The decor is fresh and clean. The offset lighting creates a warm, friendly mood. We started off with shrimp spring rolls which were paired with a peanut sauce. They were chewy and lightly salted. The peanut sauce was a good accompaniment giving the textures more flavor. We moved on to the Spicy Noodle Soup which was lightly spiced, warm and delicious. The addition of chili oil upped the spice meter and made it even better. The war wonton soup was desperately needed because I was fighting a cold and wanted something warm and light. That fit the bill perfectly. Between the outstanding service and the delicious food, we were warmed and our bellies were full on a cold winter weekend night. Definitely a spot that we will not drive by without stopping.
One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Reno, without a doubt. I've been coming here consistently for the past two years, and the food has never disappointed. Go to dishes will always be their Bún Bò Huế and Spring Rolls. The Bún Bò Huế was bold, rich, and full of flavor, with just the right amount of heat. The noodles were cooked well, and the portion came with plenty of meat. The Spring Rolls were fresh and light, but the real standout was the peanut sauce - rich, creamy, and easily one of the best I've had. It paired perfectly with the rolls and really elevated the dish. Not pictured here is their vermicelli which I order pretty much weekly, so light but flavor packed. Their grilled meat is no joke. Service was very fast and friendly. The staff was welcoming, and the food came out quickly. The space itself is clean and inviting. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here!

This was my first time here and the place was so beautifully lit, clean, and cool. It was so packed i knew it would be delicious. Let me start by saying the staff was very attentive and friendly. Second i just had to try my favorite crab Rangoon's. They were the best in reno. I also had to try the birds net with combo meat. I loved the sauce and i would so go for the shrimp only next time. Dragon fruit boba and the calamari were so delicious. The ribs were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Defiantly returning to try new things!'
A year since last review Wow. Let's update this Now . Tonight had a little date night. We were greeted immediately and sat right away . Ordered some hot tea to start and some pot stickers , they were really good. We got for our entree Mongolian beef, Kung pao chicken , chicken lo mein noodles , pork fried rice. Everything came nice and hot and everything was very flavorful and delicious. It really hit the spot tonight. Service was excellent. The restaurant is very clean. Highly recommend Check the pics ! Enjoy !!!!
Absolutely delicious!! Quick service, great vibes, and amazing soup! I also got the tofu spring rolls but forgot to snap a picture, the peanut sauce was great. The bbq pork and meatball soup was delicious with a deeply flavorful broth
My gripe with most Vietnamese restaurants in the US is that the fish sauce isn't strong enough!! I get it though...since the majority of customers may not be accustomed to stronger smells or flavors businesses have to water things down to stay afloat. I got the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli which was pretty good and authentic. Only thing that wasn't was the fish sauce and for some reason they gave me sweet n sour sauce for the egg rolls on the side which I was confused about lol. Served in a huge bowl but I would say serving size leans on the smaller side compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I've been to. read more

Found this place by coincidence and we love it! Food: excellence, good portion, reasonable price! Service: sweet, efficient, and fast! Restaurant follows guidelines to keep everyone safe during Covid. Restroom is super clean and neat. Interior decor is super adorable and modern. Most importantly, parking has plenty of space since it's next to the Smith supermarket. read more

They served me rotten meat. I order from this restaurant once a week or once every other week. Tonight my Pho arrived and the meat was very clearly rotten. Every single piece was slimy and green, it also smelled off. read more
This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Reno. This is Authentic Vietnamese food with multiple dishes that were excellent. My wife is Vietnamese and cook at home so it is difficult for us to Vietnamese food outside of the house cause we are usually disappointed with this. That was not the case with lament. We absolutely enjoyed the spicy noodle soup, bang mi and broken rice dishes. The spicy dishes are very spicy. So if you ask for max spicy make sure you can handle it! But if you do enjoy spicy then I recommend the Bun Bo hue Spicy beef soup. Beef broth with an outstanding depth of flavor and umami sensation that likely includes a fresh bone broth. read more

I returned here after being away for a few years, and I'm so happy to find that they are just as good as I remember. I've gotten their banh mi to-go a couple times, and I'm never disappointed. This time we came to dine in. I was very impressed with their efficiency. We were sat down, ordered, served, and out the door so fast with almost no wait time. All the staff is working so smoothly! Food was great, especially the bun. Fresh and tasty, just like I remember. Also, the decor inside is adorable. Will definitely keep coming back. read more
I love love love the shrimp pho here!! But I am so glad there is no video of me eating it. I'm sure my approach is totally wrong, but I have no idea of the correct way. The broth is delicate but full of savory flavor, the shrimp are plump and plentiful, and the rice noodles perfectly cooked and slurpable. No, I didn't really slurp but went with the two handed "pasta" twist method. I enjoyed the Crab Rangoon filling immensely but something is off for me with the "skins", a bit thick and not as crispy as I prefer? Were they baked, not fried--healthier that way?! I am so happy they are open for lunch and I plan to bring back friends so more menu items can be sampled and enjoy the good Asian beer selections. read more
I came for lunch. The soup was a nice chicken soup with cabbage, bok choy, and some chicken in a delicious broth. I ordered the Kung Pow Chicken. It was decent, but pedestrian. It was lunch, and since I wasn't driving, and I was just doing errands, I ordered a merlot. The server forgot it. That's ok. I don't need that anyway. Sadly, I was never checked in on during the meal. If I had been, I would have kindly reminded them of my drink order. The soup was the best part. It is better than the Chinese bear across the street. La Mint is serving takeout during the Covid-19 shutdowns. We ordered over the phone and picked up the food to go. All the food was packaged and presented nicely. The veggies for the vermicelli soup were bright and fresh. The soup itself was nice with some bbq pork slices, a couple small wontons, and the array of fresh veggies like carrots, scallions, and cilantro. The bbq pork fried rice was just right. Yum. The dumplings were just the right texture and good flavor. The crab rangoons were great texture and so pretty, but could be a little "crabbier". Overall, great meal. With South Reno being my new "work home" area there is such a great variety of food options. There was a test passing celebration in place, and my coworker asked for suggestions on where to go that would be nearby, I know I had passed by this place all of the time and had asked for her opinion. She mentioned having tried it before and it "being okay". Thanks to Yelp I pulled up pics from the inside and all of the food items and we were set to try it out. I fell in-love with the interion and felt that next time I will need more time to snap photos. We were promptly greeted and seated at a spacious table. We definitely took our time studying the menu, as there were so many options. I settled on the lunch special with orange chicken, and we ordered egg rolls to share. For the lunch special it came with a soup, an egg roll and a large mountain of white rice plus the chicken. My friend ordered the sweet and sour chicken lunch special as well. I thoroughly enjoyed everything, and found that the portions were generous and everything was super tasty. Now that I know how great this place is, I will definitely come back and even thought to order to go. Next time I will definitely plan to order the Vietnamese iced coffee as that is a usual favorite. I felt that we were in the middle of a cherry blossom garden with the vibrant pink colors surrounding the walls. read more

IWaitress doesn't seen to understand English. She missed one of my order . Pho noodle soup didn't have enough soup . I had to ask for more soup . They charged small bowl of soup for $ 3.95 . The service is bad . The waiter is rude . After he took the payment and leave my credit card on the table and payments machine. I ate at so many restaurants in Reno . This is the worst one . Came here as a recommendation. Semi authentic Vietnamese food. Workers do not speak Vietnamese which is good I suppose. They go by the #1 of the food items since they don't know what the items are. The food is decent with the right flavors. Large portions but food does take a while to get out to you. I was a bit sad to not see Soda Chanh (lemon soda) on the menu, but the iced coffee was good. I got a variety of items with the family. Chicken pho, vermicelli noodles with pork, pork rolls, egg rolls, vegetable soup, shrimp noodles, pot stickers, general chicken (isn't this Chinese?) , and chow fun with extra chicken. Prices are right for the town. Back in San Jose, CA, these dishes would be about $3 more per dish. The restaurant got really packed by the time we got our food. It took about 30 minutes for food to come out, so judging from that, don't come when you're super hungry! read more

My lunch friends like to frequent La Mint because they're one of the cleaner, updated, and consistent Viet/Chinese restaurants. Neighboring joints are either a hit/miss with their food, or just dirty. We've never had a BAD dish here, and I do like their Bun Bo Hue. Not the BEST in Reno (SF Kitchen is winning that IMO as of Dec 2021), but good enough for me to pick this place for the convenience of its location. The servers are always very patient with us, and food comes out very quickly. I always go with their Vietnamese dishes, but my friends always enjoy the Chinese dishes they order. This place deserves no star at all actually. This was my first time and honestly it was quite suck! Why? Well let me tell you the story where it began. I came in to placed my order to go. The guy ( Kim ) was behind the register and I told him I'd like to order to go. He right away told me " wait a minute " then he went somewhere else then he came back and he asked me If I'm ready to order. I told him that I need to see the menu first. He didn't even handed me the menu just to be polite instead he just stood up there and pointed to me and said over there! I was like oh okay. Placed my order and I came back after 20 minutes as he told me so. I saw one bag in the corner table so I approached him and asked nicely is that my order? Rudely answer to me, "Not Yet! " again I was like okay take a deep breath! I sat back waiting for about 2 minutes or so and the other skinny younger short guy brought me the order. This was surprised me so bad! Why? Instead like normal other decent people who works at the restaurant, they are always came to you and approach you and handed you the bag. Well, not at this place. He just put the bag on the table and said there you go and walked away. So I grabbed the bag and I told him, " hey, thanks for your GREAT SERVICE! Your service totally big suck!!have a manner and be decent to your customers if you aren't able to be that nice or as friendly, just be decent that's what I'm asking for. Now I'm going to talking about the quality of their food. Okay, first of all, I hate their service to start with. But I won't never lie if the food are good. Nope not this case. I ordered the Pho combination and the container lid was not that tight so got home and the broth was almost a quarter in the plastic bag. Then the broth was just plain! I mean plain plain! Not even as good as chicken broth from the cans!! Meatball basically only one medium meatball and cut half! Meat was too dried. Noodles were chewy. The other food was grilled pork and egg rolls vermicelli. This food was my favorite from other Vietnamese restaurant. Not from this one. Let me tell you, the egg rolls were minis and I never in my experience have to eat one chewy egg rolls!! The skin wrappers were way too chewy! The filling was dried & salty. The noodles again, were undercooked too chewy. The grilled pork has a good flavor but again over cooked and chewy! The shredded lettuce way too old and some of them look nasty brown on the edges. And also this one is beyond crazy, they didn't even give me a little container cup for chili oil or something!! WTH! I hate to write a really bad review but heck I paid for my food and also I deserved to be treat good as a customer. I don't get the hype from others who gave this place more than 3 stars. Well maybe a year ago or so they did good who knows, but what I know it was today experience. Also they're not wearing masks!! Will I be back in the future? Oh heck no! Never again! Not just crappy unfriendly rude service, the food weren't even taste good or decent, I guess the food is like a mirror of their attitude that failed big time just to be decent huh! Nothing can't beat 999 pho place for their friendly service, and of course their amazing food! So La Mint, suck it up and I do feel bad to gave you guys a darn tip because honestly you guys doesn't deserve any tip or any business well at least from me anyway. read more
Brought a friend who has never been to La Mint for a weekday early dinner. Lots of seating available at 4:00, but it got busier during our stay. I ordered the tofu pad Thai and my friend selected the Mongolian beef. My pad Thai was just okay (3/5). Compared to other ones I've had around town, it was a bit dry and nothing remarkable. My friend enjoyed her Mongolian beef (5/5) and the couple of bites I had were delicious. It was well-flavored and the beef was tender with just the right amount of spiciness. Service was just adequate, it was again the same stoic server that my hubby and I had the last time we were there. I think we just need to sit at a different section of the restaurant to get another server. I value friendly and kind service during a meal, it makes such a difference in the overall enjoyment of dining out. Perhaps it will be better next time, as the food is good here and I would return for the many things I still want to try. read more
This was my first time dining in at this restaurant. Decor is so cute-love the ceiling covered in parasols! Service was very good although the restaurant was busy as most places are on Friday night. They have a bar with a nice beer, wine and sake list. We started with the spring rolls and lettuce wraps. The wraps were good but the spring rolls were great. Fast service and plenty of seats on a weeknight. Absolutely loved the decor!!! Felt very rustic chic. Got the bun Bo hue, my go to Viet dish on the East coast... it was good but not amazing. No knuckles or oxtail, only slices of beef and tendons. Pretty sure there was no shrimp sauce either. Spice level was 3/10. Basically it was good but a very pared down version of the real deal. I think I should just lower my expectations of this dish in town! Giving 4 stars because my husband's combo pho actually looked quite good with plenty of meat, and the decor / service made it a nice weekdate spot. Plenty of fresh veggies on the platter. I was blown away with this place! I have always hear good things about it and decided to stop in on a rainy day. I was immediately impressed with the place upon walking in. The decorations are beautiful and to be honest I felt like I was at a Disney restaurant inside one of the parks. There were so many things to look around at! The menu is generous and very good pricing. I opted for the H1 combination pho and it was so good. The broth didn't even need any additional toppings and tasted so fresh. Great ambiance, friendly staff and good food. My family ordered the steak pho, bbq Korean beef rice plate- flavor was good but the meat could've been more tender. Ordered the honey walnut shrimp too- the flavor was great but it had an overwhelming amount of the mayo mixture. Decided to forgo another local Thai option to try out this new-ish restaurant to the area. Ordered the traditional Chicken Pad Thai, hoping to "compare apples to apples" with other local Thai options. Overall, not terrible, but not amazing, or even noteworthy. Just a good, safe lunch option. The noodles were clumped and stuck together, making it difficult to build a bite with a little of all the ingredients. There was a generous portion of chicken, but it was quite bland. In fact the entire dish lacked any spice or seasoning. The restaurant atmosphere has improved, since turning over from previous ownership. The design is more engaging and appealing to the eye. It was quite busy with a wide cross section of workday lunch-goers, so perhaps my order was the unfortunately anomaly. I would be willing to try eating here again, but it's worth mentioning there are better and cheaper similar options nearby to this location. If you're more interested in good food than an appealing restaurant facade, check out Donut Bistro-Pho Noodle instead. read more
Sooo let's break down the rating Distance from down town 1/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 very appealing to the eyes. Food quality 2/5 Staff friendliness 3/5 had to wave down waiter to place our order, but redeemed his self after serving us. How did I end up here? So a coworker recommended this place to me saying it's one of the best pho restaurants in Reno and I'd have to say otherwise. After having a bowl at their competitors in the area this hasn't really had a lasting impression compared to another spot. I find really amazing my coworker recommended this place after we are always on a food adventure during lunch in the Bay Area and thought it would be a hit. So what I've ordered was a pho ox tail bowl. My gf ordered a brisket and rare beef bowl Friend and his wife ordered a vegan bowl and combo bowl. With fried tofu for apps Let's talk about broth... it seem like it was very diluted. Possibly added more water to the pot. It didn't have that typical rich pho broth. But the only thing that made the soup come back to life is ordering the "green onion oil" also known as "nuac beo" it will instantly make your soup so much rich but it's not meant for people who are looking after their figure lol it's definitely a guilty pleasure. Most pho restaurants have it. My bowl Ox tail pho... I was sadden to say that my ox tail was over cooked. The meat was stuck to the bone and I had to work for it. Also the bowl seemed a little bland, strictly just ox tail pieces. I was hoping to have some sliced brisket and other pieces of meat. Like I had in other restaurants in the Bay Area. Or even their competitors near by in Reno. Rare beef and brisket bowl My gf is viet and she knows her bowls. She said it tasted like instant beef flavoring from a bottle you can make instant pho broth. Vegan pho My friends wife said her vegan pho had good flavor but was drowning in bok Choi, she had to take a lot of it out. Seems like the bowl was just thrown together. She enjoyed it other than picking out the extra veggies wishing she had more fried tofu in it. Combination bowl My friend He didn't say much other than the pho broth was lacking body. Normally doesn't complain about food. Over all experience was ok. What made it sort of enjoyable was the waiter. After taking our order he talked with us for a little bit. Ordering the green onion oil giving me that look like "you know what that is?! " Also said "oh you must hang out with a lot of Vietnamese" as he was joking around. He was attentive and refilling the water. After paying and tipping he came by with candy and fruits and said trick or treat. Would I come back? Not really... but if you are in the outlets in Reno and craving a rice plate I'd recommend it. But pho not so much maybe just a bad day but I'll still with the other spot. Please do not recommend a Pho dish with tendons, and other items I have never heard of before to someone who has never had Pho before. Not a good experience at all. My bad for putting my trust in the waiter's suggestion. read more

Food was very good. The broth had very good flavor. We ordered Pho #2 Combination, A1 Fresh Spring Rolls, A5 Fried Crab Rangoon, Sizzling Combination Plate, and Mango smoothie. Service was good. Plenty of parking in the lot. read more

Ok, so I have been here 3 times. It's close to my work and I am always looking for options, both in great food and enjoyable environments. I must say La Mint is a location that would be perfect for meetings as this restaurant is very clean and looks impeccable every time I visit. I am always greeted when I enter. This has both Vietnamese food and Chinese. I have chosen the Chinese menu but will venture to the Vietnamese menu here soon. I like the Mongolian beef lunch special which comes with with a small cup of soup and your meal come with a small egg roll with sweet and sour sauce. At least is does with every lunch meal I have had on the last three visits. I did have a chance to meet the owner who was pleasant. This location has been several types of restaurants but I think this will be the winning combination. The food is fresh and superb flavor. I'll be back again. read more
Need something good, fresh, filling and reasonable in Reno? La Mint Vietnamese Kitchen is your place. Of all the Pho places I've been to, this has to be one of the nicest in terms on interiors. Very clean, cool and welcoming. While there are a lot of menu selections, we chose the Vegi Pho and Vegi Spring Rolls. Both were really tasty and fresh with lots of fresh vegetables. The Spring Rolls came with a peanut sauce that put the rolls over the top. The Pho was more than enough and left us unable to finish our servings. The staff was very friendly and made sure our water glasses were never empty. If you're in the area, I'd recommend you stop by. read more

Why is there a time limit to eat here?
There is a time limit if you send the food back to the kitchen. They will print out your check and put it on your table even if you never requested the check.
Do they serve Imperial rolls? The difference between Imperial rolls and egg rolls is the wrapper. Imperial rolls are wrapped in rice flour wrappers. Egg rolls (Chinese style) are wrapped in wheat flour wrappers. Both are deep fried.
