Between the mariachi band that was fantastic and the servers trying to get every person served in a timely manner, I give total kudos to management for getting it all organized !! Went for my husband's birthday and the service was absolutely awful! Took 15 minutes just for someone to bring us crackers for his agauchiles. 3 people had acknowledged us and yet no service. So when we got up to leave he left his $170 glasses on the table and when we went back to get them they apparently where not there. They could not produce the video to see who took them. Second time patronizing this establishment! Before 5 pm the restaurant is bustlingly busy! It was a Saturday evening but still very impressive. The vibe is very festive even with live music! Services were very good! Servers were attentive and friendly. This time we learned not to over order. 2 of us share one shareable. We could not even finish! They do give you large portions. Chips and dipping sauce is very tasty. The combination dish we ordered served in a hot lava stone bowl with pork, steak, sausages, shrimps, cactus and other veggies in a slightly tangy and spicy sauce. Very delicious. It also came with 2 plates of very tasty rice and beans. The only thing I wished was the steak could be cooked a little tender. Their menu is enormously large! For some reason eating mariscos "seafood" is such an experience for the Latin community and this place delivers! We were back in Vegas and after a day of pool partying we craved some Mexican seafood. We arrived and the place was packed, they quoted us an hour wait and recommended their sister location. I got my Truck serviced for an alarm system next door and I was hungry while waiting. I decided to come to La Mojara Loca. Ambiance was nice and welcoming. Karen was my server and she was very sweet and attentive. Being a coffee lover decided to get myself in cafe de olla, to get my morning started right. She recommended the empanadas and I went with them as a light starter. As my entre, I chose the Birria Sopes and they were incredible. Your best bet is a weekday visit just after rush hour. That said, even when the place is packed, the staff is consistently efficient, kind, and clearly working hard. Now, the food... This is where my internal debate begins. This is usually my go to spot for bringing friends and family when they visit Vegas. Unfortunately, the last few visits have involved spending way too much money for food that didn't quite live up to the hype. The biggest issue here is consistency. It's truly hit or miss. Some days, the meats are juicy, tender, and cooked to absolute perfection. Other days, they're tough, dry, and giving "sandpaper chic." On a good day, this place is easily a five star experience. Lately though, over the past year it's been landing more firmly in three star zone. I don't understand the hype that has manifested into long wait times. 1 hour and 36 mins. Here's what our table ordered to share. Aguachiles Al Chef, Botana Chorreada, Burrito Pacheron, and Enchiladas Suizas. The Botana Chorreada had great flavor but it felt over priced. The enchiladas were underwhelming. I came in on a random Wednesday night for a small group dinner. Parking wasn't as daunting or challenging since it was a random weeknight. As usual it is always kinda busy at this spot, but we were quickly given a table for 8 of us without much of a wait. I was a little overwhelmed with what to order, but as a group we were able to decide on: salmon filet with rice and steamed veggies (for me), Molcajete Azteca (2 ppl), 3 birria tacos with beef (loved the presentation), and some shrimp ceviche. Also opted for a Carajillo and a Mango Margarita for drinks. The drinks seemed to be prepared almost instantly. We got them pretty quickly and they tasted pretty delicious--Carajillo was as good as I rememebered and the Mango Margarita was perfect for a hot summer day. Of course they had the neverending chips and salsa, which are a little too addicting. The food also came out at random, but cooked as promised and very flavorful. The salmon wasn't overcooked and had was so tender that it fell off the fork. The veggies were lightly seasoned, which is how I prefer them. I hadn't actually seen anyone with a molcajete but when we got it for the table it was pretty massive and looked so good. The meat and chicken were tender, accompanying veggies delicious and the smoke just made it look amazing. The aroma alone made my mouth water even though I was also eating my salmon. The portion for 2 people made it seem like it was more for like 3 or 4 people! The tacos were pretty good and I like how it came with its own presentation tray. The proportion of meat to tortilla was huge! I think I'm more used to the places that skimp on the meat, but these were huge! That and the sauce were just so good!! The shrimp ceviche was also delicious. I was shocked at the amount of shrimp that was included in this dish. And the amount of guacamole was also pretty generous. The taste was phenomenal! And somehow, there was an extra order brought out (but not ordered by us), so we still ended up taking it, but it was something they didn't charge us for. We all had to get our stuff to go since it was a huge amount of food and we underestimated how much we could eat. I did like this spot and the service was pretty good, food delicious, and portions generous. I have to rememeber to avoid coming here on a weekend or any major event because I know the wait can be long (unless we don't have a huge group and there is space by the bar), and I could run the risk of parking on the opposite side of the plaza. read more

Food is reasonably priced as the portions are huge and the food is very filling. Started off the oyster shots with shrimp chaser: spicy, delicious and great way to start off the meal! Shrimp was tender and the oysters had a fresh taste! For lunch we split a Molcajete that had steak, chicken, shrimp, grilled onions, delicious cheese (that melted and tasted soooo good) and nopales. The place is a good size and if you have a large party that we might be a little longer, but it's worth the wait. As for what we ordered, we had the MOLCAJETE "AZTECA" for 2 but there was enough food that it could feed 3. As for the cocktail I ordered it wasn't that great it said fresh fruit, but the fruit was frozen in there and had a strong punch flavor that was not that good.
