There's limited booths and tables in side, but when the weather is nice, there's several more tables outside on their patios. You'll find a lot of seafood type dishes here as it's their specialty. While there is also options of beef and chicken, seafood is prominent. The server was super friendly and explained their menu to us. As in their name - they specialize in ceviche. We decided on the Playa Azul ceviche which is tuna based. The ceviche is a huge portion - an entree for 2! While we can certainly take leftovers home, I always like to eat a super fresh entree like this at the restaurant. The ceviche was so fresh - the sauce is amazing! There's some soya in it which gives it a little hint of Asian flavor and it was great. I really enjoyed it! It's served with a basket of chips and they provided plenty for the ceviche. Cevicheria Diamante was a miss for me. The service was frustrating from the start--our waitress repeatedly walked away mid-conversation while we were trying to answer her questions or ask our own, which made the whole experience feel rushed and dismissive. The food didn't make up for it. The ceviche was mediocre at best, and the tostadas were noticeably stale, which honestly ruined the texture of the dish. On top of that, the music was so loud that we couldn't comfortably hear each other or even communicate with staff without repeating ourselves. For the prices they're charging, I expected much better. My son lives in Las Vegas. He is in grad school at UNLV and lives close to this cevecheria. I go here whenever I visit. It has fabulous seafood. My wife and I ate here on Christmas Eve, 2025. We had the augachile tropicale. It had a great comparison of fresh fruit to go along with the shrimp and chile. It also had a dusting of tajin. It was great. The experience was very disappointing. The molcajete we ordered was extremely dry and lacked the flavor you expect from this dish. We've had molcajetes at many other places and they usually come out sizzling and full of flavor. This one looked and tasted like it was just thrown together. I also asked for regular tap water but was brought a Fiji bottled water and charged $5 without being asked. The most concerning part was the bill. We had already left a cash tip, but the server added another $25.50 tip to the check. When we questioned it, we were told it was an "error with the register." For a family of three, that explanation didn't make sense. Our total was $206, which is already a lot for what we ordered. Being charged for bottled water we didn't ask for and having an extra tip added after we already tipped in cash made the whole situation feel very wrong. Customers shouldn't have to double-check their bill to make sure they're not being overcharged. read more

I have visited this place twice in the last year and both experiences were very different. My first visit in the early 2024, the service was fast, the food was a bit more affordable, and it was a calm environment. On my second visit, the service was much slower, the prices were noticeably higher, and there were several musicians walking in and offering their services. It was a bit disruptive. Cevicheria El Diamante is a very good Mexican Seafood Restaurant where the specialty of the house is the Ceviche. This restaurant is located not too far from the airport. It's a very small restaurant with some outdoor tables for when the weather is nice. Beside Ceviche (that you have to get) they also offer appetizers, aguachiles, tacos, tostadas, moloajetes, entrees, fish platters, kids meals, and some alcohol is served here. They start you off with complimentary toastada chips, crackers, and salsa. We shared the ceviche called Pescador (salmon, tuna, marinated in lime, onions, avocado, tomatoes, serrano sauce, black sauce. It's a very large plate of food and you do need two or more people to enjoy it. It seemed fresh made to order and was very good. This particular ceviche is only mild with spicy heat. I do wish it came in a half size to free us up to try more dishes. We also shared a single marlin taco. We received a well made taco that also was fully packed with marlin, a sauce, and melty cheese. The marlin did taste like real marlin. (sometimes at other Mexican restaurants the marlin looks and taste like tuna) My husband tried the marinated shrimp with CHILTEPIN sauce. The shrimp were fresh and seemed good. They were very generous with the HARD TO COME BY CHILTEPIN peppers.....The delicious spicy heat was almost past the limit of what a person can handle. This dish is too spicy for most people. It is nice to see a few different dishes on the menu that have Chiltepin Peppers in it. Those peppers are very expensive and have a more delicious spicy flavor. I only found maybe two restaurants in all of Phoenix that offer Chiltepin Peppers. One was a James Bread Nominated Restaurant that was nominated at least 8 times. The servers were very nice and efficient and are bi-lingual. Parking is close and easy.
