We stopped here for lunch before our road trip back home. We were a party of 5 and we all ordered something different. We ordered: One menudo One order of sopes One breakfast burrito One order of birria tacos One order of birria grilled cheese We waited about 20 minutes for our food to come. It all came out at different times but everything came out hot and we all tried each others foods. The menudo broth was good but the tripe had a lot of funky looking pieces. We ended up eating most of the maiz and leaving the tripe there. The sopes were big and loaded but the carnitas itself had no flavor. The carne asada breakfast burrito was big and delicious. The birria tacos, birria grilled cheese, rice, and beans were pretty good. The jamaica was refreshing and perfectly sweetened. The ladies working were friendly! Portions are big. The parking lot was full by the time we left.

Sopita d fideo which I was surprised to see on their menu

Well I had high hopes with all the 5 star reviews. Called prior to make sure they had hominy in their menudo and lady who answered said yes they do. Arrived and didn't know they are in an industrial area. Walked in and lady who answered the phone was tending the register. Scanned the menu and made our choices. Saw in small font they charge 3.5% to use credit/debit card. Food runner came out with the food and tried to drop it off at the party behind us knowing our # was visible. She then checked in and confirmed our order and placed entrees on table. Music is blaring loud all female rock singers such as Alejandra Guzman and at times you just want to have a meal in peace but I assume they crank up the volume to bask the crying or screaming kid not wanting to sit or finish their food Would I come again probably not.

My first time being here. Service was amazing. And the menudo and chips/ salsa were amazing.

We came on a Sunday morning because I wanted menudo. We've been to the other El Zarape and it was good. This place looked older and more vacant, but it is in an industrial area by the stadium. When we walked in we were greeted by the lady behind the register. We ordered menudo, chilaquiles, coffee, and a Coke. The food came quickly and was super tasty! Although the business didn't seem impressive on the weekend, I bet it's super busy during the week because of their authentic food flavors. Good job, guys! 5- stars.

The yelp search recommendations did me well. We were south of the strip shopping at the outlets in the afternoon & didn't feel like trying to find anything at the crowded strip to each, this spot popped up on the nearby list with the best ratings. I had a couple carne asada and el pastor tacos that hit the spot. My buddy got the nachos and a side of bean dip that he couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Inside is a pretty small with just a few tables, outside they have a spacious uncovered patio to dine at. If you're looking for tacos off the strip on the south side & you don't feel like dealing with the crazy lines at the Gordo chain El Zarape is the spot to try.

It feels like you're eating at someone's house in Mexico. The place is super cute and has a very homey feel the food is superb very fresh. There are salsa. Game is on point. They were a bit slow, but this location always struggles. I hope they make it as I will come back and support them really worth the time to go there they also have a lot of breakfast specialties.

El Zárape is a hidden gem if you're near Allegiant Stadium and want real Mexican food, not the watered down tourist stuff. We ordered the menudo and the torta ahogada, and both were excellent. The menudo had great flavor, rich broth, and didn't feel greasy or bland like a lot of places. You can tell it's made with care. The torta ahogada was messy in the best way, soaked just right, full of flavor, and actually spicy without being over the top. Portions are solid and the pricing is more than fair for the quality you get. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, like the kind of food you'd actually eat back home, not just something made to look good on a menu. Service was friendly and the vibe is low key and comfortable. This is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to, especially before or after a game. If you're craving legit Mexican food in Vegas, el Zárape worth the stop.

We came on a Saturday 1pm 2 ppl somewhat busy full vibes Cute Small Place Patio and Indoor Seating (We Sat Outside) Friendly Staff *Order before getting a seat* What we ordered: Quesabirria Plate (wish the tacos had more melted cheese for it to be a Quesabirria) Rice & Beans were delicious authentic Menudo Authentic So Good!!! Ask for some spicy seasoning if you like it spicy Food came out fast. Overall this was our first time here but soon as we tried the food we already knew we would need to come back to try more & or get the same thing again!!

10 stars if I could add more. Stumbled upon this place as we were heading out and trying to find something open on Easter. Epic find! We will most definitely be back. The hubby ordered a chorizo burrito and I, a carne asada burrito. Both were soo good! I was full but wanted to keep going. Everything was delicious and the staff was soo nice. This place is bigger than it looks from the outside. Seating inside or out on the patio.

5 tacos - pastor, asada and lengua
    Su-jen Y.

Forever on the search for more delicious mexican spots, and found El Zarape through yelp and various reddit forums. It is quite a hole in the wall spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are like 4-6 tables inside. We got 5 tacos (pastor, asada and lengua), 2 fish tacos, an asada burrito, a fajita plate with chicken and an asada fries for 4 people. The tacos were pretty standard, my favorite was the lengua, was pretty tender and flavorful, pastor and asada were average. They had 3 salsa options - green (slighly spicy), habenero and red. I liked the green salsa but thought the red salsa was average. The burrito was really small even with rice, definitely less than 1lb. The fish tacos were pretty good, freshly fried, my MIL enjoyed it. We also got the asada fries because the burrito was too small, the fries were not fried well, it was oily and soggy from the get go. The toppings (asada, sauce etc) was pretty flavorful but cannot compensate for the soggy oily fries. Anyway it was not expensive, total came to less than $60, but wont be back!

    Chilaquiles divorciados & Menudo
    Jose A.

Looked up "chilaquiles" and found this little gem. I ordered the chilaquiles divorciados (red and green sauce). They were great. The green sauce had amazing flavor with little spice. The red sauce is a mildly spicy enchilada sauce. My brother ordered the menudo and immediately said it was the closest to grandmas he's ever had. My nephew got a plain carne asada burrito and devoured it. His only complaint was "too much meat and hardly any beans" lol. Will definitely recommend for a quick stop off the strip for authentic taqueria cuisine.

Maria took our order and was so patience and nice! Ordered the menudo & caldo de res - both came out piping hot and delicious!!

First time at El Zarape! Came across their taco tuesday special on social media and we decided to give it a try! They have multiple locations around town too. It's a little hidden but there are signs directing you where to go! There is outside seating. When you walk in it looks so small but there is an open dining area to the left. The special we ordered was $25 which included 10 tacos and 1 agua fresca. We got 2 each of pastor, asada, carnitas, chorizo and bjrria. For drinks a canned soda and a horchata which was huge! The lady that helped us was very nice and she brought our food to our table. She also brought 2 bottles of salsa - green and red. I wish they were hot! They were tasty but no heat. The tacos looked really good and had a good amount of meat. Tortillas were hot! Tacos were good and my personal ranking from best to least favorite are pastor, chorizo, carnitas, birria and asada. The special was worth it! Wish there was a location in the southwest!

I've had a run of regrettable Mexican food and even though this place wasn't horrible, it could have been a whole lot better. Again, another spot that charges for chips and salsa. As I always say, if you charge, the chips and salsa better be stellar. Before we get to that let me tell you about the service. I asked the server which lunch entrée she would recommend between the carnitas tacos and the chicken taquitos. She recommend the taquitos. Service was kinda cold and we really didn't feel completely welcome. We placed our order and the server said she would be right back with water, chips and salsa. A few minutes later she came back with water, but no chips. A few minutes after that, she returned with our meals, along with chips and salsa. Kinda tacky, the whole point of an appetizer is to have it before your meal. That said, without a doubt the best chips I've ever had. Light, crispy and a really hearty stone ground flavor, seriously, without a doubt the best chips. It was served with two salsas. The red was smoky with a little kick, but it needed salt. The green was tangy and by tangy I mean tart. It also needed salt, but in the end, it was just sour. Well, the taquitos were dry, unseasoned and not appetizing. There was basically 3 pieces cut in half to make 6 small taquitos. I ate 3, but should have stopped after the very first bite. I really regretted ordering them and was further disappointed by her terrible recommendation. The rice and beans also had no flavor, and in the end, I have had fast food Mexican that taste way better than this. I know the server knew I wasn't pleased when my plate was barely touched and I was further frustrated by a service fee added to my check, without explanation. Maybe this is a trend, Mexican restaurants adding penalties and fees to the check without warning. Not a good way to run a business.
