Feeling the need to pamper myself, I stepped into LA Nails for a mani/pedi. It was a weekend, and not too busy, so I had a young girl working on me right away. The place filled up quickly though and there was a long wait after that. I had a french manicure and a french pedicure. I also added a design on my toes too. Overall, the manicure lasted only a couple of days. It started chipping pretty badly within a day or two and I hate seeing chipped nails. So, that really bugged that the manicure barely lasted. (I don't get my nails professionally done very often, and they usually last at least a week. But then again, I don't usually get a french done either.) The pedicure was another story altogether. I think it lasted at least two to three weeks. I had to touch it up a bit, but it lasted past the four week mark! It was incredible! The main reason I had to take it off was because my toenails grew too long! The nail polish and design stayed on for such a long time! I was thoroughly impressed with that! (Now, if only they were able to do that to my fingernails too!) Service was decent. The girl was quite pleasant, young (late teens/early 20s). There wasn't too much 'shit talking' that usually goes on in other salons when other languages are being spoken. (At least with the girl working on me.) I don't think I'll be going back for a manicure. A pedicure yes...but not a manicure. Total cost: $33 (not including tip). read more

This is a shit nail salon! Do not get your nails done here! I went twice last year to get my nails done - the first time was fine. My nails looked awesome, but it was like $50 plus a tip, which is wayyyy too expensive for fake nails. Second time I went was to change the color on those nails before a vacation - but they didn't have the color I wanted. So I looked through their other colors until the lady doing my nails decided to take it upon herself to pick a color and just start painting my nails. She picked NEON YELLOW... The ugliest color in the book, in my opinion. I told her immediately to take it off and that I didn't like it. She insisted that I let her finish and see if I liked the finished product. So I (reluctantly) did, and sure enough, hated the finished product. I made her take the paint off and paint my nails black and blue instead - so she half assed taking off the paint cuz she was mad that I didn't like it, and I had to live with that hideous neon yellow paint caked around my nice black and blue nails until they fell off (because I refused to go back there to have them taken off). And after ruining my nails at the cost of $35, she had the NERVE to ask me if I'd be putting the tip on my card or giving her cash. Bitch, here's your tip: learn how to fuckin paint! Extremely rude and unacceptable service from that lady, and I will never get my nails done here (or anywhere else, for what it's worth) again. It is a huge waste of money, in my opinion. And it still pisses me off to this day to think about the $90-something I wasted there last year. read more

Since my last review, my favorite nail tech Kim is no longer there. I still gave this place plenty of chances to keep up the 4 star review I gave before, but unfortunately due to their lack of professionalism, I've decided to give my business to some place else. After going to Kim, I've had other random nail techs do my nails and all of them had the same problem.. my gel nails would ALWAYS lift when I got my nails done here and only after a few days. Whenever I got french tip, the white tipped part would come off less than a week after applying it. I brought the issues I had to the owner's attention and she always says that I could come back to get it fixed, but who wants to go back? I should expect my nails to be perfect at every visit. I have been coming here on and off for 12 years. Tammi is the best and sweetest. Very intentional about you and recognizes you when you walk in. Holly did my fill and did a great job. I didn't give 5 stars because of the hidden fees that happen when you are about to pay such as a reshaping fee of $2 that's originally a $5 fee. Acrylics lose their shape and need some adjusting and there shouldn't be a fee for that. Other than that the pricing is pretty good and they are all very nice. read more

Worst nail salon ever. I didn't even get my nails done here. I walked with literally 0 customers and there were about 4 nail techs. One was laying down on a salon chair. I walk in and ask for an acrylic refill to which the man says $27! I was like $27!? For a refill? Then he said regular polish $17 then talked to another worker in his language and changed it to $20. I've been here a few times. Ladies are friendly and my nails always look good. There has been two times in which they start doing my nails with the wrong color due to the nail polishes not being in the right boxes. However, its corrected right away. Also, be prepared for a cash tip, if possible. The ladies will ask you if you can tip in cash instead of paying with your card. read more

Since I haven't had a manicure in the longest time, I decided to drop in during my lunch hour one weekday for about 20 minutes of pampering. As I entered, I told the guy at the counter that I was in for a manicure and he pointed to a table where there was a manicurist sitting, looking far from happy. As I sat down, she asked me what I wanted and I told her a manicure with just clear polish (unfortunately, I can't get any colored nail polish because of work). She didn't say anything after that and there was this long awkward silence as she began to busily clear away her work station... she even continued to label her boxes and drawers as I sat there waiting. After what seemed like an eternity, she pulls out a clear plastic box labeled "soiled tools", goes over to the sink and gives them a quick rinse, then comes back and uses them on me! Gross! Unfortunately, she looks way too frightening for me to protest. So then she begins her attempt at a conversation. She asks me where I work and I tell her. Then she starts to tell me about how she doesn't like where she works because she only gets paid on commission, not by the hour and she isn't a W-2 employee, but rather a 1099 and because of that she gets taxed like crazy, blah, blah, blah.... Although I felt bad for her being unhappy with her job, this was really an uncomfortable conversation. As for the manicure, she did a horrible job, barely touching my fingers as she was removing the cuticles- maybe because she was so heated explaining how she didn't like her job. So when the slaughter on my fingers was finally over and she saw I was paying with credit card, she then mentioned that it would be an extra dollar since I wasn't paying with cash. Hmmm... it would be nice if this "rule" was posted somewhere before people commit to a service here. And to top everything off, the place wasn't very clean, and all my clear polish peeled off the next day. It didn't even last 24 hours. I will probably never be back again. read more

This place is sad. I went on Christmas Eve. I didn't expect much business, so I wasn't surprised that the place was pretty empty except for 3 regulars who were taking pictures with the workers and eating their potluck food. They were really nice, offering me and my friend some of their food, but I don't eat food from people i don't know. It's practically eating out of the hand of a stranger! Anyway, my friend got acrylics with white tip which was $23 (excluding tip). I never had fake nails before, so I don't know if that price is good or bad. A woman who greeted us sat us down, not telling us what's going on. A few moments later, when I've had enough quiet waiting time, I asked them what's taking so long? NOW they tell me that only one woman is certified to do acrylics. The woman was a little upfront (in a bad way). I received my manicure + french polish at a different salon, so I didn't need my nails done. As I was conversing with my friend, I mentioned that I don't know how it feels to have fake nails because Ive never had it. The woman interrupts and nicely says, "ohh you're lucky.. your friend.. not so lucky." How rude?! It's Christmas Eve and we've got places to go, but she takes her time and occasionally leaving her seat and leaving US to take pictures with the 3 regulars and other workers in the shop. When she returns, she apologizes and immediately gets back to work. Then when it's time for my friend to wash the oil off her hands, she tells her in Eng-namese, "Go wash in sink ova dare". I give them 3 stars because its very affordable a manicure is around $12- $15. The manicure I got was not bad I normally go only when I need my nails filed because I've broken one or put to many glitter coats on and my nail yellows. As for the manicure I've gotten better they used a bristle foot brush to scrub my feet which did absolutely nothing but the color lasted for a long time. The brush didnt really remove dead skin and i noticed it when I left. Came here on Christmas Eve with full expectations of waiting a really long time. Despite the fact that nearly every spa chair was occupied they were fully staffed, I counted 7 people on deck so they were well equipped for a busy day. The gal named, Tammy, introduced herself and took me in right away. I asked for a gel pedicure and she delivered up to par for the most part. The color was a little transparent so she put on three layers for it to finally give it the hue I was desiring. $25 for gel polish ain't bad at all, $3 for gel removal. But the best part was the quaint feel of LA Nails. They were having a potluck on this day open to all their customers. Even it being my first time here they were very welcoming and included me in their festivities. I'll return again just for the hospitality! read more
