It's a large space, great for groups, and it's nice there is a kids menu option. We started with water all around, plus Mexican cokes and a paloma. We shared seafood tostada, chips n guacamole, wings, and chicken flautas. Everything came out hot, fresh, and nicely seasoned. We have two gluten free folks in the group and there were plenty of corn based options. The tostadas come with three and were nice and fresh, I was a little hesitant when it said mayo, but there was just a bit to get the shrimp and imitation crab to stick together. Turned out the kids loved the wings - we tried the citrus pepper and Austin amber bbq flavors. The chicken inside the flautas was tender and we enjoyed the cabbage, onion, carrot slaw to bring a fresh crunch. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Management brought in an artist from Mexico to paint beautiful murals highlighting the Day of the Dead. The queso and fajitas were excellent. Santo Patio's Happy Hour is from 3:00-6:00. The house margaritas are 1/2 price. Everything else is the regular price. Our server, J, said she was new to Santo Patio, but I would not have known. She was very helpful and super friendly. We will ask for her again.

The food: where to even start.....I hit the jackpot here. The salsa tasted like it was freshly made and served warm, so so good. The refried beans (which I don't typically order) were hands down the best I've ever had. The enchiladas were top notch, full of flavor and not overly salty. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say, it's a must try when in Bastrop!!

I've traveled all over Texas and across the U.S., and I can say without hesitation that Las Cocinas Mexican Grill is hands-down the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever been to -- and that includes all of Austin. My family and I come here several times a week, even though we don't live close by. That alone should tell you how incredible this place is. Must-try favorites (do NOT skip these): The Margaritas - Very strong and absolutely perfect. Order them half & half (half on the rocks, half frozen). Trust me -- you'll thank me later. Nachos Al Carbon (Appetizer) - The beef fajita meat is out of this world. Tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. Beef Fajitas Cremosas (Entrée) - Get them with EXTRA sun-dried tomatoes. Oh. My. God. I have never had anything like this in my life, and it's something I crave several times a week. Stuffed Jalapeños - So good I sometimes order them as my entire meal. And the onion rings they're served on? Easily the best onion rings I've ever had anywhere. Beyond the food, the staff is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like family -- warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy you're there. That kind of service is rare, and it's one of the many reasons this place is so special to us. And yes -- I always forget to take pictures of my food because I eat it before I remember to take photos for a review . That should tell you everything you need to know about how good it is. We are incredibly thankful for Las Cocinas. It's not just our favorite Mexican restaurant -- it's our favorite restaurant, period, and the best in the entire area by a mile. Perfect in every way.

Part of the buffet menu rotates, but they usually have scrambled eggs, migas, hash browns, chicharrones en salsa verde, refried beans, nopalitos, biscuits & gravy, sausage patty, sausage link, bacon, oatmeal, fruit (peaches, grapes). Most importantly: infinite menudo. Not pictured are the made-to-order options that are part of the buffet: french toast, pancake, or they can warm up toast or tortillas. Ask when you order the buffet. The restaurant itself is on the rustic, smaller side: seats 50 max (probably less per fire code). There is additional parking next door by Clint's Liquors (the parking lots are connected by a small wooden foot bridge). Feels like a local diner, so if you are looking for something upscale or trendy look elsewhere. I don't want the place to be crowded anyway. Service is friendly. Good food at a good price!

This is probably the first restaurant I've ever seen that literally has a car wash connected to it. Once inside you'll find an ATM, gambling machines, and a check cashing station. In other words, there seems to be a lot going on here besides being a restaurant. There's about 10 tables inside and four more outside. The only thing missing are some gas pumps. This place has all the ambience of a convenience store dining experience. The tables are rickety, the paint on the floor is well worn away, and the ceiling tiles are stained. The menus are in Spanish (no english) and there is no complementary chips and salsa here. We were able to order in English, but clearly this is geared towards Mexican customers primarily. They do have some frescas along with some Mexican beer, but nothing in the way of craft beer. We ordered the beef quesadilla and beef sope. The cubed meat on both our dishes was way overcooked, tough, bordering on inedible and "questionable". Even the greasy silverware did not appear very clean and even had some rust spots on the knife. The service was OK, but nothing special. I discovered after I paid at the counter where I included a tip, an additional tip had already been added without my knowledge. I will not risk dining at their other locations based on this experience. I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but in reality I should've kept on going down the road.
