They are so disgusting. Usually these tamales were made with white Mexican cheese.. Whoever changed the recipe needs to fix this or you are going to lose customers. So very disappointing. I (like many) came here on the TT star "blondeswhoeat" recommendation. She said to get the "#8, big burrito" with: chorizo, eggs, potatoes, beans and extra cheese (I omitted the pico b/c I suspected there would be leftovers and that would be problematic to keep this fresh and ready to reheat. ) This thing is the size of my forearm, no exaggeration, look at my photo. I will say that the "extra cheese" was fantastic direction, it really elevated the experience. All the tortillas are freshly made and you can see 3 people working the machine to pump them out (I admit to an error in NOT grabbing a bag of tortilla chips and some fresh tortillas.) There will likely be a line if you go there at breakfast, lunch or weekend brunch hours, but it goes pretty fast, so don't be discouraged. Don't count on eating inside either because there are only a few tables and a couple of counter spots (we did score a table, but that was just luck). Be prepared to wait about 15 mins for your order to come out hot and fresh. The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare too - too small and too tight. I really want to go back and try there and try other menu items, but will be hard-pressed to deviate. This place will be on a rotation on anyone who visits and asked for a great breakfast burrito. I ordered a breakfast taco on a flour tortilla with egg, cheese, potato, and beans. I also got a side of their famous green salsa. Service was quick and the gentleman at the counter was very friendly! Overall, I found that the taco was missing a lot of flavor. The beans and potatoes could have had more salt and spice. The salsa tastes almost identical to Tacodeli's Creamy Jalapeno hot sauce, but I actually feel that Tacodeli's sauce is more complex in flavor. (This is even better because since you are at a tortillaria so you can order a freshly made pack and turn your loaves and fishes into enough to feed at least two!) I had a lengua on corn and it was hands down one of the most flavorful tacos I've had in DFW. Carnitas on flour was better than average with lots of meat. Just not as flavorful. The burrito comes with Chorizo, Eggs, Beans, Potatoes, Extra Cheese and Pico De Gallo. While it was solid, I was definitely expecting a bit more, flavor wise. The tortilla was obviously fresh so I appreciated that. When I opened the foil, juice was dripping everywhere, which I totally didn't mind, since it typically means more flavor, but unfortunately in this situation, it didn't really mean anything besides a cheesy, juicy burrito. While the flavor was okay, it just tasted like it was missing something. So that was a bit disappointing. However, for the price (a little over $8), I really can't complain too much! My favorite of all three was the carnitas. The pork was flavored and cooked to perfection! Definitely the favorite among my colleagues as well. My second favorite was the pastor and last was the bistek con papas. The bistek seemed soggy to me and lacking in flavor for some odd reason. The home-made white corn tortillas are to die for! I only ordered the flour tortillas this time because usually I always end up being disappointed by the home-made corn tortillas at these types of establishments. Not at this place though! They make them right. You should try them...you will NOT regret it at all! We ended up ordering the empanadas to go. We all agreed they were delicious.
