Everything was fine, the food is delicious and the menu offers anything you want. but my main purpose for the the review is to compliment our server, Sydney. She is terrific. She is pleasant and very, very helpful. She knows the menu inside out and can tell you anything you ask about items. She is quick and seems to really enjoy her job. Came here for dinner with a friend, and once was enough. The guac was pretty good, but the "blanco enchilada" thing I ordered was basically 4 lbs of sour cream inside a tortilla. Couldn't even eat half. Staff was very friendly, and didn't rush us at all even though they got pretty busy. Heard happy hour specials were good, so MIGHT come back for that...but no immediate plans for sure. read more

I've been coming here on and off for years and this latest visit reminded me why I visit rarely. When I first started coming here years ago, the service and food were both top notch. Sadly over time the food has suffered a bit while the service has suffered greatly. Fortunately for this establishment there are only a few restaurants in the area, so I suspect folks overlook the spotty service since the place is close to home. Bar service was painfully slow as usual. Our server was ok though. Food is decent, but this is the ONLY Mexican joint I've ever been to that wants to charge for tortillas and salsa...weird. I'll surely be back when I'm desperate for a quick bite near my house, but there are much better options a little further away. read more

I've been to this restaurant a few times, and I've always left far too stuffed to function (my own fault, of course). The crab and shrimp enchilada is my favorite; it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's crab and shrimp, and them's the breaks. Two things to be aware of: the queso dip is great but more spicy than that served by most places, and the acoustics of the restaurant occasionally make it hard to talk with a dining companion on the nights they have live music in the restaurant itself. Since my wife and I first started to date (2005) La Palapa Too has been a favorite for us; we go at least once a week. Literally all dishes are great. For us it's always hard to order because we know we should try something different but our favorites are so-o good! Service is always wonderful; the kitchen is obviously well-managed. Drink specials are definitely outstanding, & live mariachi band every Friday it's always a plus! Five stars is not enough! I love it and highly recommend it. And now, they're going to have a "Cinco de Mayo Fiesta" every 5th of the Month!!!!!! We're so there! read more

I came here on a Thursday night. I don't have much to say about this place because my experience was terrible. For starters the service was terrible. I walked in and the hostess seemed preoccupied and didn't want to be there. The food was also terrible. The chips were stale but the salsa was pretty good. I also had the cheese quesadilla and the chicken quesadilla and they both were bland! Lastly, I had the chicken taquito and it tasted like something you can buy from Walmart. Love the food! Delicious tex-mex. This is not authentic Mexican food, but I find it better than the chains, such as Don Pablos. A little overpriced, but I am hardly disappointed. The manager is fake and arrogant, but I can get passed that. One time I overheard him talking down to our waitress. My husband and I couldn't believe how he talked to her. I hope if he isn't the boss, that his boss reads this. It made me wonder that maybe the reason our waitress that night seemed sort-of preoccupied, sort-of flustered was because of him. I have had a mixed experience with the weight staff, depending on the night. Emily and Amber are my favorites. They are very personable and attentive even when busy. Great entertainment! We had the vast experience at this restaurant today's. We had a party of 14 people and we were able to get seated fairly quickly as they arranged tables for us. Service was fast with drinks from bar and soft drinks as well as appetizers. Ordered taken and arrived hot and fresh to our table. Everyone had something different and everyone was pleased with their choices. We will definitely be back for drinks and dinner again. read more

Here we go again! My boss just picked up lunch and the online menu prices for his meal were $9.99. He gets there and the price is now over $13. He pulls the menu from the menu holder and it also says, $9.99. The person behind the register tells him that she has a different menu and it has the new price on it. So why wouldn't La Palapa Too give him his lunch for the price that we listed online and in the menus? Is this bate and switch or Cinco DeMayo Price gauging again? read more

The dining experience is terrible. Hereis the explanation: 1) As a solo diner, I was asked to sit at the bar. When I said I did not want to sit at the bar but preferred to eat my meal at a table, the response was, "But you are alone." I prevailed and sat at the table. Very disconcerting to be directed to eat dinner at the bar just because I was by myself. 2) The restaurant was not packed; nevertheless it took no less than thirty minutes to get my food. 3) The food was served cold. Unacceptable. 4) When the manager was told that the food came out late and was served cold, the only response was "Sorry." So, lousy service, somewhat discriminatory (if you dine alone, beware!) and treated as if dining there is a favor. Stay away. Plenty of other good mexican joints. read more

Not alot of authentic Mexican cuisine choices in the area, so La Palapa will be the closest to get you that fix. Growing up in a heavily staurated market of authentic latin cuisine its hard for me to rate this place 5 stars. However being that this place mainly caters to anglos i give it 4 stars for being brave to sell tacos, burritos, nachos, enchiladas, carne asada, and a long list of margaritas. I was extremely disappointed with my visit. The chicken chimichanga was average. However, the server did a nice job accommodating our table and answering our questions. I was extremely hurt when the owner would not validate my gift certificate. I recently found a gift certificate in my father's things and saw it as a sign that he wanted me to go to one of his favorite places. Im sure many people at the bar and restaurant knew my father Tom and how he was a loyal customer. My father passed away two weeks ago and I went today to use the gift certificate and the owner was so rude. She told me the gift certificate was expired (there was no expiration date on it) and snatched it away from my table. She didnt offer any condolence for my loss after explaining my situation to her. I do not recommend this place based on the lack of respect and hospitality I received. You should treat your restaurant patrons with more respect. read more

After a long absence, I decided to try La Palapa Too again. The quality of the food has improved over what it was a year ago. Apparently, they have a new chef. Still, it is not the restaurant that I used to know and love. There are better Mexican restaurants in the area for food quality and value for the money. Good Mexican food at a reasonable price. The menu has a lot of variety, and it's pretty good quality. For take out I did a combination platter, and they gave me reasonable portions of rice and beans. The beans had a unique flavor, a little smoky, which I didn't particularly care for, but my chile relleno, enchilada, and tostada were all spot on. read more

Every time I come here, I wonder why. Their food is below average and tasteless. My husband ordered the chimichanga last night and I ordered the fajita salad. Both tasted like a cardboard box and the chimichanga looked and tasted like they just took a big block of velveta cheese and melted it on the plate. GROSS! Our server was slow and when I asked her questions, she seemed like she had no clue. Stopped by on a long drive for a quick bite. Pleasantly surprised, though we came in w low expectations, and the restaurant seemed quite understaffed. The shrimp tacos were pretty darn good! Got veggies as sides instead of the refried beans and rice and I thought that made the meal more colorful and fresh. The homemade tortilla basket is warm and addictive. I stop by in La Palapa Too from time to time, mostly for lunch. In general, food is good. As usual, some dishes are better than others. I think fajitas and some burrito plates are excellent, and some of my friends really like Mexican pizza, which I did not try yet. I also want to convey my thanks to the staff for their honesty. Once we forgot a purse there, and only realized it the next day. It took a quick call to find out that they found it and kept it safely overnight. Purse contained some valuable things, and nothing was missing. read more

My family and I come here often and have had a great experience. The service was very good and each time we have been there, they have been courteous, prompt, and polite. The food is very good as well. It is basic but they do basic well in my opinion. Our kids are 4 and 6 and they love it. They ask for this restaurant by name.
