We have spent our last 3 anniversaries at Oak House. It has never disappoints. Our most recent trip there might have been the best. This place is tiny. I have never tried to eat there without a reservation. It is always packed. I did not take a single pic but we had the gulf crab claws in lemon butter sauce. These were the most amazing crab claws i have ever had. It came with 2 pieces of bread thank goodness bc i needed it to get all the lemon sauce. Pricey- yes. Worth every penny-yes! We shared an entree short rib entree and added a side of mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes. There was not even a crumb left. I didn't even need a knife for the short ribs. My tip is to go early. I'm sure the other food is good too, but the best stuff sells out. read more

My wife and I are on the diet shot. We share meals and still can't finish them. Both my wife and I at the beginning of our life together 47 years ago, both worked for restaurants. We know how hard folks in the business work. Even though it would affect his income negatively, our server was a real professional. I notice things like that. I tipped 35%+. The focaccia was outstanding - crunchy outside and fluffy inside with whipped butter - don't skip this. (5) Shrimp cocktail was good, would've loved cocktail sauce instead of the sauce they served. (I could've asked for it I'm sure, I just didn't.) (20) My prosciutto wrapped scallops atop roasted red pepper risotto was divine and as decadent as it sounds. The arugula on top added a fresh crunch and the beurre blanc sauce was light but creamy. I would absolutely get this again. Came here for my birthday dinner. It's not very big so be sure to make a reservation. There's a bar where you can sit but it was pretty full. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were taken almost immediately lots of cocktails on the menu. We really liked our drinks. Our favorite was the Beach Chair. No specials the night we went but plenty on the menu. We got the bread service and the bread was delicious. For my main entree I got the red snapper which was on a bed of spinach and risotto. It was fantastic! Hubby ordered the filet Oscar which always makes me nervous because he's never happy with the cook on the steak at other restaurants. I'm happy to report that the cook was perfectly medium here. He was thrilled and it tasted delicious. He got the sweet potato medley as his side and the potatoes were so good. Oak House is a restaurant we just found and throughly enjoyed it. The restaurant is not very big and is really centered around the large bar area. Tables work the exterior walls with some seating at the bar as well as outside. Service was amazing, the second we were sat our waitress arrived to go over the drink menu as pour us some water. We came here with my mom for her birthday. This place was beautiful on the inside and it gives nice and cozy on the set up. The server was so amazing and my sis had her before. She gave great recommendations for the appetizers and drinks. I ordered the lavender lemon drop and it was so good. I also had the burger with truffles fried. On our before you die bucket list, well today we died. Growing up in Thunderbolt Ga. catching, cleaning and cooking fresh crab and ordering it from every restaurant from Baltimore to San Francisco the Gulf Coast and every place in between that offered it on the menu we would order it. Today we had the best of the best. Lump crab, sauce and topping that celebrated the crab. Thank you Chef Oliver and service from Tristan, a most enjoyable meal. Atmosphere upscale/local gathering place. Wine selection very good. Short Ribs cooked to perfection, fork tender and a wonderful horseradish sauce, served on Risotto with asparagus & carrots. You can't go wrong with the fried green tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms, crab claws, crab cake (fantastic!), or shrimp. I ordered the ribeye and it was sooooo good, practically melted in my mouth. We are so fortunate to have a nice restaurant in the neighborhood. The food, service, and ambiance of Oak House are impeccable. We had the pork belly appetizer and we each had a ribeye. I got mine with crab on top. I couldn't eat all of mine and the manager (maybe owner not sure) noticed and came by to ask if everything was ok. I thought that was incredibly attentive. We had the best experience at Oak House last night! From the moment we sat down at a cozy table by the window, everything felt warm and inviting. The chairs were actually some of the most comfortable I've ever sat in at a restaurant, such a nice touch! We started with the bread service, which was outstanding. The focaccia bread was perfectly fresh, and the butter was rich and delicious. For starters, I had the Caesar salad.. hands down one of the best I've ever had. My husband ordered the wedge salad, and the dressing was next-level. It was some sort of vinaigrette that was so good we ended up dipping our bread in it once the salad was gone. For mains, I had the burger and fries, and I can honestly say it was the first burger I've ever had where the meat itself was so seasoned and flavorful it stood out beyond the toppings and sauce. The toppings and sauce were great, though! My husband ordered the ribeye with scalloped potatoes, and both were fantastic - perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We did try the mac & cheese as well. It wasn't our favorite.. it leaned a little watery compared to the rest of the dishes, but still had a nice taste overall. The drinks were also excellent. My husband had the "Marg-a-tini" which was refreshing and creative, and I had the Beach Chair (I think that was its name), a tropical, fruity cocktail that was super fun and delicious. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, and everything flowed smoothly all evening. Overall, Oak House is a 10/10 for us. The Sarah Smiles cocktail was refreshing with fresh squeezed grapefruit, vodka, lime and basil. Sautéed crab claws were the best I've ever tasted! Light garlic creme sauce. Cozy intimate setting. We made a reservation and was seated immediately. Our server was Gabe, he was very friendly and very attentive. He took our drink and appetizer order. We started off with 2 glasses of Schug Pinot noir, and for food the crab claws and bread service. The crab claws were plump and the lemon garlic sauce was Devine! The focaccia bread was pillowy soft and fluffy. For entrees we had the Filet Oscar and Ribeye both with scalloped potatoes and cooked MR. Cooked to perfection! They were both great steaks! The scalloped potatoes may have been my favorite thing, they were so good! They didn't look like much on the plate but they were packed with flavor. For dessert we had the special warm caramel cake with vanilla ice cream, it was perfect to split, it came out like a mini Bundt cake but was light airy with a caramel top, it was a fantastic dessert. The Manager or Key employee came by our table twice to check that everything was okay! He was very friendly and told us how they just upgraded the ribeye to a thicker cut. The meals in this restaurant are severely overpriced in my opinion. We came here because we had a gift card for it, and that would be the only way I would come to this restaurant. We had a similar meal to the one we had here at Blueprint on Third a couple of months ago, and it was the same cost without the gift card as this one was with the gift card. I'd been stalking the Oak House IG page for months and finally made a reservation for Valentine's Day. They were serving a pre set, three course menu, which was great because that meant less decision making on my end. It's about a 40 minute drive away for me, but one good playlist got me there. I was surprised at how spacious it was and was a fan of the more modern decor. My food was so good! We started with a creamy soup, followed by a juicy filet that was very well seasoned and a lobster tail. I was pretty full by then but still managed to eat some dessert, it was too pretty to pass up. The cocktails were also nice. This was my first espresso martini and I see what all the hype has been about. Since everything was closed on my birthday, i had to celebrate on a different day. I was blessed enough to get a reservation for one of the hottest restaurants in town. The Oak House, is located in Mount Laurel is definitely worth the drive. You must make a reservation or get there when they open because they fill up fast. When we arrived, we were seated instantly. Our server Eden, greeted us and gave us a great description of the restaurant, the menu and what we should try. We started with the pork belly with grits. This could be a small plate entree. It was filled with so many different flavors and the grits were so smooth and creamy. With this being an appetizer, i knew the night was going to be great. Our entrees were the salmon Oscar and the pork chop. The salmon Oscar was a delicate piece of fish with fingerling potatoes under with a lump crab meat sauce on top. What a combination! The asparagus was also cooked to perfection and had just enough crisp to complement the dish. The pork chop, the pork chop, is a piece of heaven meat! You can definitely taste that Chef Oliver didn't just open up the fridge and threw it on the grill. It has a smoky and spicy taste at the same time. The juice that is poured over it, takes it over the top. It is so tender and it cuts effortlessly.the sweet potato medley under it was like having an all star teammate. The sweet potatoes and apples were cooked so that they just tender enough not to be mushy and they just made the dish THE BEST PORK CHOP IN BIRMINGHAM! The Mac & cheese was so creamy and delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly and cheese sauce has so many different flavors. We both ate all of that! Everything here is made fresh daily and in house. Even the pecan mixture in my old fashion drink is made daily by the best bartender in town. I would definitely request him again when I return. We started with the New Orleans BBQ shrimp it was delicious. Perhaps the best that I've had. For my entree, I went with the Salmon Oscar since they were out of the Chicken Piccata and it was bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. My friend order the Fillet with scalloped potatoes and it was also seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I ended my meal with a Espresso Martini it was also delicious. This place receives a lot of hype and it's not undeserved but I was slightly underwhelmed based on the hype. The bread was delicious and I'd recommend getting it. The pork belly which had been recommended highly in my taste opinion had way too much sauce on it to taste anything else, but the grits it came on were tasty. I ordered a Caesar salad as well, and while I know it happens, I was disappointed to find much of the lettuce edges browning. Flavor in the dressing was really good though. The filet was good, the cook on it was perfect and I would definitely recommend it. Espresso martini eas also excellent, props to the bartenders. Overall it was a pleasant dining experience even if I am not a fan of small two top tables it just was slightly missed my expectations based on the previous hype and reviews. Wife and I finally tried this place, and now we are mad at ourselves for taking three years. Big mistake. I have nothing but gushing reports on all fronts. The entire experience was perfect from the moment we walked in to the moment we had to leave. Tristan was our server. He's been there from the jump and it shows. He loves his job. Who wouldn't? We got crab claws in a white wine butter sauce for an appetizer (it was a special) with grilled bread, and they were the best crab claws I've ever had! We saved the sauce to put in our steak and potatoes! Not overly rich. I got the 8oz fillet and scalloped potatoes for my entree, and my husband got the ribeye with scalloped potatoes. Fillet was melt in your mouth and the potatoes were exactly what they should be- creamy with lots of potato layers!
