Bonus points for the free underground parking which is especially valuable in the Flushing area. You pay at the front, leave your ID, then take off your shoes before heading downstairs to the wet area. There's shoe cubbies on the first level, but I prefer to take my shoes downstairs to your assigned locker so I don't have to worry about them potentially going missing. For proper etiquette just make sure to hold off on putting them on until you get to the first level when you're leaving. The co-ed clothed area (uniforms provided at check-in) is on the second level. There's additional saunas (clay, salt, etc.), ice room, sleep room, lots of recliners and even a restaurant up there. The wet area is pretty typical for a Korean spa. Gender segregated and nude only. There's a cold plunge, hot pool and warm pool. A row of seats for relaxing. A row of standing showers and two rows of sitting showers. Body scrub area. Sauna and steam room. Im from California but visit New York Spa & Sauna every time I come, which is about twice a year. However, this time I found the experience to be slightly different. Mainly that there's now a spa attendant in the men's wet area who sits right outside of the steam room. He frequently checks the steam and sauna plus strictly enforces the eight person capacity in the steam room. I can assume the purpose is to curb potential misconduct. IYKYK. On my prior visits, especially during the winter, there's times where upwards of a dozen or more people would be packed into the steam room at a time, quite the sausage fest. So I guess it's a plus for you now if you prefer having a little more space in there. The attendant was friendly enough and seems to strike a good enough balance of doing his job and not being too intrusive. I just found it slightly less relaxing since he's constantly counting up and down as people enter and leave the steam room. "Three, two, one, full, one, full, one, two, one, full, one two, three, two, one full, one, full again, please wait" is all you'll constantly hear now in the wet area. Eventually I did tone it out and even knocked out on one of the chairs for a bit, so I still found it overall a relaxing experience, just slightly less so than before. The spa opens until 11pm but the steam closes as 8:30pm and sauna at 9:00pm. If you stay past that, you're welcome to use the other amenities until they announce the check-out time which is a bit before 11pm. Overall, I stayed for nearly five hours and still had a fun and relaxing time. The place was clean and well maintained which is a huge plus for me.

I ended up purchasing a scalp spray for $40, which I was told was 50% off from $80. I'm not entirely sure how accurate that was, especially after noticing the expiration date is October 2026--it left me a bit unsure about the value. In total, I paid around $180 including tip, which feels quite expensive for the experience. It definitely can take away from your experience. Most of the food prices are reasonable but some were outrageous! If you want any personal spa services you have to book them in advance and me personally they are way too expensive! This place could make some small improvements but I appreciate what they have to offer and how they are different from most spas. What I also did not expect was having to wait 40 minutes in line for a drink. There was only one person doing the drink, and then another one coming back and forth from what I found out to be the kitchen upstairs. Counting the people INSIDE the kitchen, cooking, there were a total of 5 people doing food and drinks during a fully booked day at lunch time. Also wasn't prepared to spend $26 + gratuity + tax for a drink (they automatically charge gratuity and then ask if you want to leave a tip lol) ON THE BRIGHT SIDE the place was clean and well kept, even the bathrooms were perfectly clean. Yes, a few hair here and there, but it was expected. The saunas were good and they had a good variety. I don't know if I'll come back during a weekend or festivity, $110pp seems a lot to not being able to relax.

Since this spa allowed me to split 3 facial package with my husband, I agreed to pay the spa directly. We were 10 minutes late because there just wasn't any parking available around Main Street, but the receptionist was very understanding and said don't worry about being late. Once we got there, we were in a couple room and got changed and got started right away. I had Tina and my husband had Zoe - they were both professional and extraction and décolletage massage was nice. They didn't push us to upgrade the service and my husband and I were so comfortable that we both fell asleep and snored. I definitely had a better product and techniques before and I would rate this place more like 4.5 stars, but since the customer service was great, I'm leaving 5 stars. *Tip: pay in cash because if you use your credit card, tax will be charged.

I felt like the facialist was trying to force moisture back into my poor dry skin. The extractions were fine, on the properly aggressive side. I HATE that they use razor to do eyebrows - no reason not to pluck, esp as I wasn't that overgrown! I would not return, though packages run from as low as about $35 per facial in a package of 10.

Couldn't get an answer on a Tuesday so thought maybe just busy, took the subway down and walked the nearly mile one way, arriving at 4:30 p.m. Locked, not open. I call several times, finally get an answer: "we open at 6:00 p.m." Nope, not waiting around so away I go. Next day, Wednesday, around 5:00 p.m. start calling, get busy signals continuously, no answer. Arrive at 6:00 p.m., not open. Busy signals continue. Wait until 6:30 p.m., still closed, decided to go for a walk around the block and if they aren't open when I return I'm done. Return at 6:40 p.m., the door is open. WTF? Guy at the desk is 1st grade English level at best, but nice. Tries to explain what's available. Main hot sauna is out of order (turns out being totally rebuilt and looked quite nice). Other hot sauna out of order as well. Steam room working, he says "not very warm," which is correct. It's a freaking lung choking oven that when at full blast you can see about a foot. I sit near the door. Only three other people in the entire building I can see and two are in the pool, someone giving a swimming lesson to a kid and mister Eastern European. I keel over and I'm dead in 60 seconds. Obviously, this written just before that occurred. Kidding. I go in and out spending maybe 30-40 minutes in there. That purged the Burmese, Malaysian, Tibetan, Bangladeshi food downed earlier in the day. The "cold" pool mentioned by others was lukewarm. The hot whirpool just a little warmer than lukewarm, the main pool about what I'd expect. And alas, no one on staff to deliver the famed banya beating with branches. The story I came to experience will wait until another time. This place is frozen in time, say 1960. I saw no food being served but some that was left over on a dining table apparently from the day before or earlier. More of the hot mess. Finally, I chat with the guy running the place and he concedes things are in disarray, apologizes, says only pay what I wish. I gave him $20 for what was to be a $35 fee. And yes after all that, I'm sort of intrigued. If and when things hit all cylinders here, and a friend said they do, I can see it being pretty cool. Otherwise it operates about like I'd think a lot of things operate in Eastern Europe. One thing for sure, had there been vodka around after this experience, I'd have been into it. I'm not someone that likes vodka, but this experience made me want to do shots like a bunch of Russians doing the best to pickle their livers. To be continued. Maybe. If you come: I'd suggest bring cash only. Call ahead. They don't tell you they're open, don't show up. Looking for an upscale Hilton spa? This, most assuredly, is not it.

I went to la peau to see the environment first before I made appointment, 'cause I read some reviews from groupon fellows. Then I called to schedule an appointment for my diamond peel facial and mani/pedi combo. Fairly say, I got astonishing experience from la peau. Forgot the girl's name who did facial for me. She was kinda timid, did wonderful facial---cleansing, massage, every step. And Maggie did nice mani/pedi, I enjoyed very much. And I was referred to Jackie for foot Reflexology, that was amazing, yes it was. $35 foot reflexology worth what I got from some other spas with three times price. I tipped well,paid tax, and replied to the girls suggestion and purchased one facial package. I have had loads of spa treatments, I think I am reasonable 'judge'. I 'd like to give 4.8 star. I got this groupon service after End of Oct the exp date. La Peau extended to End of Nov. what a nice spa! They did not expect the promotion to end asap ( customers paid already, passed exp date, and sometimes some bad reviews come up). I see their attitude! I appreciate it and I think many groupon goers like it too. And it is not finished yet, I got a greatest found---the owner EVELYN, pretty-sometimes shy-girl does unbelievable Eyebrow Embroidery. After looking the customers before-after pictures, and consultation with evelyn, I made my appointment, I have been looking for some place to do mine for long time and I got mine done from Evelyn. Last Friday I visited the day spa and had my eyebrows permanently done with what they call eyebrow embroidery which is similar to tattooing... The Spa was great they offered you water and tea when you entered the atmosphere was wonderful and everyone that works there was highly professional I'm so excited I waited 5 years to have my eyebrows permanently gun... because every morning I hate waking up and not having any eyebrows.... although they're still healing I can start to see the little hairs that were placed artistically.... the whole thing took an hour and 20 minutes for the anesthesia to take place local anesthesia cream was used ... it was very pleasant and I'm going to recommend all my friends who need eyebrows... so anyone out there who needs their eyebrows done please visit La Peau Day Spa ... located at 181 - 183 Lafayette Street New York City ... From i was litter i already understood that eyebow is very important to a woman.Since i was young my classmates always made fun of me cuz i don't have eyebow.i always read the magazine all the pretty women have beautiiful eyebows but sadly i don't have skill to draw the eyebow that fit for me.In a occasional opportunity i saw in the brochure that in La peau that provide professional eyebow embroidery. i went to la peau yesterday to get my eyebow embroidery done..the people in there are so nice ....they let me have a seat and introduce and showed me ablum of 3 sets of photos of an actual client thatis amazing and natural so i was convinced that this was the right solution for me. Everlyn did a perfect job.she carefully examined my bone structure ,listened to my concerns and selected a natural eyebow that fits me.she picks the perfect shape and use drak grey to match my hair color.and the beginning i was kind of nervous but evelyn is very nice she told me to relax. and then i realize that the more relaxed that i am the better i will manage the procedure..so i did not feel any pain and i was very pleased with the results.Evelyn told me that do not wash my brows for 2 days.....so i would highly recommend eyebrow embroidery by everlyn at La Peau Day Spa!!!!!!! read more

THE MOST AWESOME DAY SPA EVER La Peau is the greatest spa ever! It is at the hottest spot in NYC and once you walk into the store, you are already influenced by the relaxing environment. The beautiful setup of the day spa and the gentle care of each professional beautician has given me total refreshment. I walked out after the facial as if I was a new person with newly found confidence. Not only that, I also got a fatty ball (it's like an extra little flesh ball...) on my eye lid and got it removed at la peau. The laser removal process was very painless and simple. it took only two minutes and it's healed within the next 2 days. Moreover, I am a participant of the Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pageant and La Peau has been our make up sponsor. The professional make up artists (especially Everlyn and Sammy) always vary their make up style according to the occasion and our clothing. Each make up artist makes us look our best with care and try to accommodate us as well. Overall, la Peau is the best! What broght me to La Peau was Everlyn Ho's Eyebrow Embroidery service. I wanted to get my eyebrows done for years, and have done a numerous of research to find a reliable technician. I'm so glad I found Everlyn! My experience at the spa was absolutely lovely. I visited the spa yesterday, 1 of the front desk girls was very friendly. Everlyn first went through the real case album with me and explained the procedure to me. Then she spent good amount of time to design the perfectly shaped eyebrows for me. Before she started working on the eyebrows, she showed me the single-used needle and told me everything is sanitized and FDA approved. She handled my eyebrows very gently and carefully. I'm very happy with the beautiful and natural looking eyebrows she gave me. She also offered me a free touch-up session in one month. She even gave me her cell phone # and told me to contact her with any questions or concerns at anytime. Throughout the whole process and my conversation with Everlyn, you can tell she's a perfectionist and a true professional! She's very experienced and passionate about what she does. I got to know the owner, Evelyn, through last year's Spartan Race, and we quickly became friends. As a person who never had the habit of doing facials and spa, Evelyn elevated my self-care and beauty standards by introducing me to her world of embracing beauty. I never realized my acne can heal this well after several facials and I was pleasantly surprised. I also tried their Thermage, which was the exact same thing I've done in Upper East NYC but cheaper and better - with a free facial before treatment, and calming mask afterward. Evelyn is extremely professional (and beautiful) - it's hard to come across someone has the combined expertise for skin care, makeup, and small cosmetic operations so I think I'm really lucky to find her. She did my makeup for a performance and also helped me with half-permanent eyebrows. My understanding is that her spa has been THE makeup and styling partner for several Asian American beauty pageants in NYC, and she is well-respected in the beauty industry. I decided to try this out when the lady at my regular spa was not on duty that day. This place was a little bit crowded than regular spa. I did a back rub here. Then the young lady at this spa persuaded me to do a facial skin care, because my face was too dry and had some red spots. Then we moved to another room, where it was elegant and delicate. The young lady that perform the facial treatment was very gentle and patient. She gave me a very gentle massage on my face and put the skin care product on. It was cool like mint but later I felt my face warm up a little bit. I took a nap and when it was done, the lady woke me up and told me it was done. I felt time flies so fast because i was very comfortable. My red spots were gone and I felt my skin very moistured. The reason why I gave a five star was because the moistured status kept on after 24 hours. I didn't put any cream on my face after a shower, but I still felt good. A tip I will give to other customers is: Buy the facial service on Groupon. It's almost half the price. I should have bought one before I came in there. But it's ok. I recently visit LA Peau. This is a great place! The LA Peau staff was very friendly throughout my entire visit. Evelyn Ho is extremely artistic when it comes to creating permanent cosmetic make-up. She is very observant to the contouring of your face, and will design the perfect natural looking eyebrows that will enhance your features. She definitely put me to ease by addressing and listening carefully to all of my concerns. Evelyn explained her procedures to me in great details, and then pencil drew her design on to make sure I liked it and understood her vision. It was comforting to see how she took her time to make sure everything was perfect. Her hair stroke embroidery technique is absolutely natural looking. I highly recommend researching her for yourself and going to her for your permanent cosmetic make-up. I'm very happy that I did and I plan to go back. If you do not want permanent make-up yet, then go and treat yourself to one of their spa or facial treatments and meet Evelyn for yourself. There are many reasons for me to come visit again. For one, people are professional here. The machines they used are very high tech, unlike other places in other areas. Also, they For two, the deal is pretty attractive if you know how to use it. Every time i came here, I was with a Groupon coupon. That saved me almost 50% every time. But I wish i could use the coupon for my eyebow tattooed. Evelyn is definitely a pro for permanent makeup. She told me she did the makeup for the ladies in an NYC competition and that was covered by a lot of newspaper outlet. I double checked it when i came home, and I found those pictures. I saw here helped other customers for the make up before my appointment starts. She has always been patient and treats everyone as VIP when she's delivering the service. I have been at Le Peau Spa many times and now i am a member along with my wife. The place is very nice, clean and has a good and relaxing atmosphere. I tend to book my appointments during the mid-day hours to avoid crowds and time constrains. It has been nothing but a good experience and definitely i saw the signs of improvement on my skin after just few sessions. I also would like to recommend Michelle Chen, one of the experienced professionals working there. She is very good, asks for any conditions you may have and is also gentle with your skin knowing that you most likely need to go back to work after the treatment... My sessions have been customized to my needs and conditions and i am very satisfied with the membership i purchased. We went shopping at Soho and heading to Little Italy through Lafayette St and saw this awesome place- La Peau Spa. I tried the Microdermabrasion facial and He tried the foot reflexology massage. The girl was Yuki who did the facial. Sweet, smiling, good skills, I saw the difference on my face when finished. I Like it. He tried 15 min foot massage at first, then 30 min, then one hour, and it is $35 for one hour. we both wanted to come back. he then purchased the foot package of 10 times (then even cheaper than $35 each hour, he said he felt awesome ). And I joined the facial package at 688 for a year, could come as often as once a week, I'd rather come every two weeks. Unbelievable! the facial is good, and the space is decent, spacious with around 10 facial rooms. I am not the one who usually write reviews for services. I highly recommend la Peau. read more

I was a client at La Peau since Summer 2006 and remain their frequent client. My beautician is extremely attentive and Professional. within a short while my skin began to clear and improve. Because of life situations I stopped going to La Peau in 2009. I recently started treatment at La Peau again. Due to stress and trying hard to land a job, I need to address my Acne Skin Problems. In a few weeks my skin shown great improvement. I am very pleased with the treatment at la peau and how they welcome me back to their family. I am received with love and understanding from la peau. My friend gave me a gift certificate to this place and I ended up buying a year's membership with it - for about $700 you get weekly facials for a year. Since basic facials are about $80, this is a fantastic deal. Plus, you get to try every mask and special facial they offer, plus a free manicure (and makeover I think, but I forget). I would not normally want to spend this much money on a bunch of facials - I think I've gotten them maybe twice a year, if that much, in the past - but I felt like it was a really good deal and maybe it's time I take better care of my face. I happened to have my first facial with Cleo and I got lucky. She always does a great job, I get to practice my Chinese and my face looks nice all the time. Finally a friend recommended la peau. i saw yelp reviews and felt hesitated. i found more nice reviews about la peau else where. and The friend kinda guaranteed -you wouldn't get disappointed by everlyn. I finally decided to get a free consultation from everlyn. everlyn showed me the works she did before, some albums on the table, hundreds of before-and-after pictures. and patiently explained the procedure. i saw confidence and smile on her face. I decided to have a try. if your looking to have permanent make up, this is the place. The owner, Everlyn will personally take care of you. Many places do permanent make up and some a lot cheaper (she charges $500) but what makes her outstanding is her artistry. With an artist's eye she will pick the best shape for your face. My eyebrows look natural, the color is great and the shape enhances my eyes. My eyebrows do not look stenciled in but soft and natural. I get so many compliments. It takes 2 sessions. I just finished my 2nd session but can see the beauty in the shape and am so happy. it will take another month to heal completely. I had almost no eyebrows. What a difference!! As a frequent customer of spas and massage and other facial treatment, i love trying new spas in my neiboughhood. I gave this a solid 4 star rating because it's a little bit pricey in terms of facial. However, the equipment they are using is very high tech and it doesn't seem like some dirty facial spas in Chinatown. Although it says it's location is in Soho, but actually it's in chinatown. It's just a block across Grand Street. So, go back to the treatment part. The lady who helped me was very friendly and nice. She helped me relaxed by massaging my neck before i did my facial. of course, i tipped her extra because it's worthy. i came out with a more hydrated face with less eye wrinkles, but I have to wait to see how many days it maintains. read more

For clarity, review is not about Jessica. I originally tried to book with her, but my appointment was instead handled by an older Korean woman who appears to be the owner. This owner kept pushing my boundaries and overtime, her behavior became passive-aggressive and unprofessional. For example, I felt pressured to purchase a Brazilian laser hair removal package and when I declined, she made a comment along the lines of "people would find it ugly if you didn't," which I found completely inappropriate. On another occasion, she brought in another customer or acquaintance during my appointment. I overheard the person ask (in Korean) why she was working on a Saturday, to which she responded "because of this girl," as though I were an inconvenience forcing her to be there. This made me uncomfortable and felt very unprofessional. Just because I prefer speaking in English doesn't mean I understand what you're saying! At the time I didn't speak up, partly because she was older and appeared to be the owner of the business. But looking back, I regret not addressing it sooner. I also noticed another reviewer described a very similar negative experience, so this clearly wasn't a one-off situation. Again, this review is not about Jessica. However, if you're a first-time Korean-American customer like me and you're given the option to book with the older Korean woman, I honestly wouldn't recommend setting up the appointment at all.
