My girlfriend told me she had been to this Peruvian place and the food was great. We went for lunch today and she couldn't have been more right the food was phenomenal!! We started with the grilled octopus appetizer as the waiter recommended. It was delicious I would order again next time I go. Then we had the special of the day sea bass and shrimp and a steak dish. We ordered from this restaurant yesterday through Uber Eats. It got delivered rather quickly. I didn't take pictures as you know that delivery never has the same amazing presentation as what they could give you on site. But my word, was it an absolutely worth it experience. We had the ceviche peruano, and it was amazing. They were very clever in their presentation as they separated the corn, the onions and a sweet potato. So everything was more organized when it arrived and the flavors were preserved. One of the best ceviche I've had since my last visit to Peru, hands down. We then had the jalea mixta and the arroz chaufa de mariscos. They are both cooked and seasoned to perfection. The portions are very generous. My husband and I had a lazy quarantine day yesterday, we had it for lunch and dinner and we still have some left overs. I would recommend this place to anyone. I've been here twice. The first time, I came at the suggestion of a colleague who recommended the lomo saltado. Always the rebel, I had to get crazy and order the arroz con mariscos. Weeeellll... it was a little bit more adventurous in the seafood department than I was really prepared for. The rice had great flavor, and the shrimp was delicious. I ate around the rest and left a pile of octopus, calamari and mussels on my plate. (I know, I know.) My dining partner, on the other hand, didn't base her order on her desire to buck the system, and dutifully ordered the lomo saltado. I. Was. Jealous. 1/2 STAR. Terrible experience on our first time there. 1. The basics of any Peruvian restaurant, "Ceviche" came to our table with and overcooked fish with rubbery shrimp. An already sour sweet potato ruined a simple dish. 2. An undercooked "Churrasco", pretty much RED-raw, even though we ordered it medium in temperature. 3. The worse: Over 10 minutes between appetizer #1 and #2 to get to our table. Then, another 10 minutes or more between entree #1 and #2. By the time my wife got her main dish, mine was already cold. 4. It had to take the manager, 45 minutes after, to come and clean the dirty plates and paper napkins from our tables. The server kept apologizing for the dish mistakes, however never picked up a plate or replace silverware. Bottom line: It was the 1st and last time visiting this business. Had heard great things about this establishment and since they have outdoor, which is a must, I checked it out. First off all the fish dishes and ceviche are made with swai, a fish I won't eat. I had called ahead and asked if they made ceviche with corvina they said yes, what they didn't say is, the up charge is 7 dollars! I decided to go with the octopus ceviche appetizer. The octopus itself was not bad but the lime juice and seasoning was extremely bitter. I normally drink up all the liquid in the dish but not here. It's is so much that as you are eating, I was puckering up the whole time. My friend had to ask are you okay! Next was shared a lomo dish which was not the best quality/ texture meat. Oh La Perla... ''twas a Sunday Funday afternoon of searching for some Peruvian food and Perla, was the one. They had good music, and servers were patient and friendly. Having gone in around 2pm, it wasn't full but it was getting there. Seems they get a lot of repeat customers that frequent the place because they're friendly with the staff. The space is small, feels crowded. As in: you're trying to sit back down, trotting carefully because you might rub elbows with the person on the next table. But the food....oh the food!! I can't go to a Peruvian restaurant without eating their ceviche... Presentation, flavors.. and portion- though I found the ceviche to be on the small side, it was fab. Lomo saltado is such a great dish with amazing flavors, and that indeed was a generous portion. For dessert ordered the Choco-Lúcuma and that was amazing. Hard chocolate shell on the outside and the mousse-like/cheesecake-like lúcuma goodness inside. Mildly sweet, it's a perfect combination with chocolate. That was wiped out right away! Not a big fan of Weston, and until today, I've only gotten food from the gas station (if you know Weston you know where I'm talking about) and the ale house (apparently not all ale houses are the same?) La perla- decor and the look, they're pretty dope. Looks like a mix of Med-high end dining had a love child with a lounge. I ended up getting a beef dish, similar to stir fry. It was pretty good, little salty. But it was served over his really unique rice and white bean base. If I have to summarize the entire meal/experience: Not sure if I'd get the same dish, it wasn't amazing or my made my ballocks tickle, but I'd also never contest to going here. The only con here is the menu: it's Peruvian cuisine and the labels are traditional (I'm assuming, I'm Not from Peru or know enough to say they are/aren't). But basically there's no description of the food items, so you have to be a good little tourist and either spend 15 minutes googling pictures of the food or have a great little game of "point here, wtf is that?" Maybe the Waffle House practice of using pictures made from crayon to display what you're getting could help? read more

This is probably one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants in town. All of the wait staff are very attentive and welcoming. Atmosphere is trendy and the live music is always a good touch. Food is delicious, presentation and taste are on point. I love the Vuelve a la Vida. It is mix of very fresh seafood and the portion is so big that you can have it as main entree. It was a Saturday at 11 pm and most people were finishing their meals when they decided we had to rush to leave. So so rude. Second time in a week to visit. This time I had grilled Chilean sea bass. The béchamel sauce had a hint of cloves ( I think). In past I would have given better rating but lately they have been stingy on the portions yet prices are not cheap. I ordered tacu tacu with breaded chicken. In past they would serve a good portion of tacu tacu that you could feed two. now it barely feeds one person. The dish was very dry.
