My wife ordered the wrong salad, she's vegetarian, and the switched it for a meatless salad with no trouble. I ate the Al Ajilla, seas bass in garlic red sauce with tomatoes, which was fantastic! Our first visit to a "Peruvian" Restaurant, beside our visits to the Granga to go pick ups. The menu was extensive:) Many seafood options.. and offer a good kids menu..we got the Fried Rice with clams (fresh seafood), and Lomo saltado..(great flavor steak). Absolutely love this place! The food is spectacular and comes out usually pretty fast even when they are packed to capacity. The servers are very friendly and most all of them are bilingual. The ceviche is so fresh and wonderful, not too overpowering with the citrus or salt. One of my favorite hot dishes has to be the lomo saltado. Sliced steak with sauteed onions and roma tomatoes served with rice and french fries. I'm hungry now talking about it. I went their recently with my family this last weekend and they have a wonderful new hostess, very friendly and helpful. Maria at the bar is awesome and makes the best drinks! Very nice food, the best Peruvian ceviche

I was repeatedly told that I was offered sea bass as one of the special entrees. The dish was ok. The calamari was dry and very small quantity. The receipt showed corvina as my entree. My husband ordered a fish on the menu and also got an up-charge. When I explained to the manager he offered to make the situation better by giving back some of the money from the incident. However, he did not apologize for the false advertisement. Excuses were made but it left a bad impression that I would not return to this restaurant again. Well Dinner for 10 at La Perla Peruvian is where you turn when Il Toscano seems stale, and Flannigan's is simply out of the question. Chicharron de pescado was excellente! Aguadito de pollo was yummy in my tummy! And the ceviche mixto was so good my crazy sister-in-law even raved about the place. So what's the carne? and why only three stars? Well for starters, the service is as absent-minded as ever. For some reason service and perfect peruvian have yet to meet on eHarmony anywhere in the universe, so until then we'll all have to make do with the normal - entree's being served before apps sorts of things our compadres from down south haven't quite figured out matter when going out to eat on a saturday night. 3 times a request for water was met with a "no problemo" followed by my asking again and again and again. I EVEN ASKED IN SPANISH!!! We stopped at La Perla for an early dinner. Service was excellent from the time we arrived. Being 5pm on a Thursday, there was no wait and we were seated immediately. We started off with the tiradito tricolor. The fish was out of this world, it had perfect texture and size. It was hard to decide which one of the three was better. For me, the yellow tiradito, with aji sauce, was the best. The tiraditos had yuca, yams and Peruvian corn on the side. Yuca was perfectly cooked, so perfect, we ordered the yucca frita appetizer. For the main course we ordered the lomo saltado and tallarin saltado. Both dishes were enormous and full of flavor. The beef was absolutely delicious, cooked just right and had the perfect balance of meat, onion and tomato. For desert, I had picarones. These were the perfect ending to a superb meal. Highly recommend La Perla! I travel to Naples on business often and will not hesitate to visit them every chance I get. read more

I have been here a few times after I moved to Pembroke Pines. I am used to going to Miami for Peruvian food but I finally found a place that serves great Peruvian food. I came with my family and we all ordered different dishes. My favorite was the tallarin Verde... but you have to specify that you want it with the churrasco... its so good. The huancaina sauce is pretty good too. My dad got the anticuchos as a starter and said they were so good. The service is great and the place is big for all party sizes. read more

Peruvian food is generally spicy and tasty! I ordered the traditional ceviche to split between 2, and it was small portion for the price. The "Aji de Gallina" was good, but again bland, I had to ask for some "green sauce" to give it some spicy. The "Seco de Res" was tasty but it had only 2 small pieces of meat, white rice and loads of white beans that were (again) bland. It's comical to be served 2 tiny little bread rolls in a large bread basket, at the start of the meal, I kept thinking why not serve 3 or 4...it did not make sense. I've been eating at La Perla for many years. They've recently remodeled and doing a lot of business. I'm really into ceviche and have long regarded La Perla as the best ceviche in the area. I have been back several times since the remodel. Service is excellent if your latino. If your not Latino, honestly, your screwed. It's sort of like reverse discrimination I suppose. Service was really slow. Food was missing. No bread was offered. Drinks were empty. We were completely IGNORED by the staff. And I honestly feel its because we were the only non-latinos eating in the restaurant. Everyone around us had a whole staff waiting on them. We were totally ignored. The ONLY person that came to our table was our waitress. And the ceviche? Used to be excellent. Maybe never the best in South Florida... but was always really good. The past few times it was only just OK. Not excellent. And the fish seemed of lower quality than previously served too. Thought it used to be grouper. Looked like thin chunks of tilapia the past few times. Not going back anymore. I work too hard for my money to be discriminated against in a restaurant. read more

Went here for the first time last night. I was a little excited based on the reviews that I read. When I got there... wonderful atmosphere! great environment! Immediately greeted at the door and seated right away. They totally got the three stars for the environment and the customer service. Our waiter was awesome! He was very attentive and nice. Very informative about the menu. The prices are decent. However when it comes to the food.... Totally surprised about the outcome. We ordered the grilled fish, fried green Plaintain's and sweet potatoes. The waiter recommended the top-of-the-line fish so we went with that. Our food came out in about 5 minutes after we ordered it. The fish was cold and the plantains were barely hot. Everyone knows fried green Plaintain's taste best when they come out fresh and hot. Honestly the food taste as if it was something that was just sitting there and was warmed up once we ordered it. People can say whatever they want about the "most favorite dish"... I feel as if any food you order from a restaurant should come out hot and ready. I won't be back but I totally like the set up of the restaurant and the Decour. read more

I did have a bad experience last week (Friday November 18) on this restaurant, and here it is the details about it: 1. Service wise, my experience was low average. Just as an example, the person who was in charge of us just offered water once. 2. The food was way salty for my taste, as well as for my wife, so having water was not an option. 3. On my experience on several restaurants, tip is always (or almost always) suggested, and just for big party tables is automatic tip included. I do pay tip every single time I visit a place and I am happy to do it, even for places where the services is not too good. The difference is just the percentage: higher for those places where the service is outstanding, lower for bad service experiences. When I requested the bill, the tip was automatically included on it as part of the payment, not as "suggested". a. In addition the percentage was 18%, which I think was quite high for the service we received. 4. To make it worst, when I was paying with my credit card, they offered me the option to add more tip to my payment! I did include some more tip, but do I regret it, because of the bad experience! 5. Tables are so close to each other that the person who was behind me hit my chair several times. 6. There was live music. I do like live music, and just as a suggestion, singer have some room to improve. I probably will not be back, but I really hope the service gets better. read more
