The food here is excellent. I was here for the first time on Valentines day and again for my birthday. Both times I had the swordfish (maybe next time I will try something new!) but it was delicious both times so it's hard to try something else! Along with the french onion soup which was also delicious. I also love the atmosphere of this restaurant, cozy and romantic and seems family run which is nice. I would highly suggest sitting on the patio however, as we were first put at an inside table for my birthday, about 3 feet from the table next to us and it was VERY loud inside! Nothing like the first time we sat outside on the patio (luckily, we asked to sit outside and they accommodated us to a nice, quiet table outside. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the service. It seemed a bit rushed, even though I know they weren't rushing us, but the woman taking our order started with "ok, what do you want" which seemed a bit brusque and she was constantly running around it took away from the atmosphere a little bit. Love this place! Went there twice because the first time it so good but most restaurants will let you down the next go around. But the Steak Frites was so flavorful and it was just as good the second go round. Pretty much everything I had there was delicious. The appetizers were a great start. I had escargot, I shared some of the Salade Landaise (salad with duck prosciutto, roasted apple, goat cheese and other goodies. Yum, that was awesome. This was a large salad - we should have shared it. I had Veal Scaloppini - tasty, but after sharing some of the New York Strip with Shallots and Red Wine sauce - I made the wrong choice. Great restaurant. Food was fantastic and service was prompt and friendly. We started off with the charcuterie; nice selection of meats and enough for three people to share and each get to try the different meats. I had the mussels in white wine for dinner - it was served with french fries which was nice because it doesn't state that on the menu. My mom had the salmon which was delicious; grandma had the NY strip with a green sauce over it. Steak was so tender! Definitely recommend checking this place out. My buddy & I sat on the covered patio and were attended to quite well. The food items are plated so lovely, in French tradition, to marry up flavors that please the palette curiously. I am a devoted fan of quiche, & they serve some of the most perfected, so I went with the spinach quiche & salad. Seasoned Lima beans, pink onions, cheese slivers manned plate corners. I devoured. The chocolate mousse with real cream, chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce, berries soaked in liqueur (all on the side) with mini sweet bread stick is so off the chain, I don't share. I'm pretty sure it's owned and operated by French nationals, and despite the odd location, it's very well attended, which speaks volumes about the quality. This was our first time at the restaurant. There was no hostess stand. I was ignored for at least two minutes when I entered.I finally went up to the who I thought was bartender and asked if there was a hostess stand.she said I guess that's me. We had reservations at 7:30 and arrived at 7:40. Our table was not ready...so we stood there and waited while they got one ready for us. They were super busy and the staff was working very hard. The owner/manager (an older blonde woman) was so combative.We waited for our entrées over an hour and when we notified her of this instead of apologizing she made it about us! "Can't you see how busy we are? You just need to wait longer" (Resv. was 7:30 and by then it was after 9:00!) I eat at restaurants all the time and I have never had this poor customer service and combative attitude towards a customer. The inside of the restaurant was also very shabby and the outside lights were not even turned on around the restaurant. I can't believe they were so cheap that they did not hire more waiters/hostesses to take care of customers. We were one of many couples who waited over an hour for an entrée. My wife and I had lunch today at La Petite Maison (our first visit) and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. This small restaurant has the indoor tables well spaced from each other in order to maintain good social distancing, and their front outdoor patio seating is ample. My wife had the linguine with four cheeses, while I had the beef carpaccio. Both were excellent, as well as the accompanying side dishes. Wine selection was also very good. Service could not have been more attentive (while not constantly hovering). We accidentally left behind our credit card and the manager, Rafael, went the extra mile by going to the lamp store next door, which we had visited before lunch, and obtained our telephone number, calling us to alert us of the card having been left while were were still in the area. Very resourceful, and the effort was much appreciated. We will most definitely return to La Petite Maison. read more

Ate here for the first time today because I was in the area around lunch and felt like bistro/cafe food. I was delighted! The service was fantastic and friendly, there is indoor/outdoor seating, the food was great (and portions were huge... very reasonable prices ($10-12) for a whole large sandwich and salad. Mine was delicious and definitely reminded me of being in Paris. Mmmmm... I was with my stepmother and boyfriend, both of whom enjoyed it, though my boyfriend says "5+ for atmosphere, 3 for food," which is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. I have lived in Atlanta for nearly 30 years- and this is my favorite place. Cozy place. Friendly staff (yes they really are from France). Never pretentious. Crusty yummy bread and olives to start. Great edited wine list that won't break the bank. Simple fare- prepared in classic French style. Don't come here if you want fancy fancy fancy. Come here if you want a nice meal- with good conversation and nice calm atmosphere. The new owner is family of the old owners and she is simply a delight. She edited the menu perfectly keeping all of my old favorites but updating the the other dishes. The prix fixe meal is the best bang for your buck on a weeknight in Atlanta. Go. My husband and I were excited to try La Petite Maison. Not only is it a total of five minutes from our house, but the reviews on Yelp had our taste buds tingling. As big fans of French cuisine, we already had an idea of what we wanted to eat (him, steak frites and me - something in a rich cream sauce). We arrived at 6:00PM on a Saturday night, the restaurant was relatively empty, however, we were seated outside. My husband (per his preference) ordered the steak frites, and I ordered the half roasted chicken in a cream sauce. The steak was ordered medium but came out well-done. It was tough, chewy and tasted like something out of the frozen food section at Kroger. My chicken was over-cooked and almost impossible to cut through. Overall, the food was NOT GOOD, it was mediocre at best. I think the biggest qualm I had was the quality of the meat. Simply put, it tasted old. None of the meat selections tasted fresh. Both of our meals came with green beans, which were undoubtedly out of a can. Disappointed is an understatement, at $30+ an entree the meal was less than satisfying. Everything tasted underseasoned, overcooked and/or out of a can. Moreover, the owner seemed to only attend to tables of white, older, "upper-class" people. As a young, non-white couple we were paid no attention by her (except for her telling the waiter to seat us outside). I feel for the wait-staff and what they must go through with the owners of the establishment. The entrance of the restaurant greeted us with Jewish News. TLDR: Poor quality meat, canned vegetables, an owner who is only interested in speaking to her Caucasian clientele and overpriced mediocre food. If this was just based on food, it would be 4-1/2 stars. But the service was 1 star. So overall going with 2 stars. We'll go with the bad news first. We sat for long - and I mean long - periods of time where we didn't get any attention. It probably didn't help that our waitress didn't seem to want to be there. She spent way too much time in long, involved chats with tables. I wouldn't mind if she could still get her job done. But she couldn't. Some of the many examples of poor service include taking two tries to try and bring us our wine selection - ultimately we gave up and just took what we could get. (The first bottle came pre-opened - unacceptable for a restaurant of this level.) Our waters sat empty most of the night. Plates would accumulate. The empty wine bottle sat for the entire meal. She blamed the slow service on the chef. In the end, we just sat with wallet on table, credit card in hand for a 1/2 hour just to get someone's attention to bring us the check. The meal took 2-3/4 hours - maybe they're trying to be a "really" French restaurant, but that's unreal. Now for the good. We had the Escalope de Veau à la Normande (veal scallopini with a mushroom cream sauce), but it was the potatoes that stole the plate - I can't recall what they were called, but it was like really rich scalloped potato and they were out-of-this world. We also had a veal special with was a lightly breaded cutlet with a lemon-caper sauce. It was also terrific. We finished with the chocolate mousse - probably the best we've ever had. I'm a big fan of La Petite Maison for lunch. I can go there by myself and have a peaceful lunch reading and eating. The vibe is very upscale and you always get a small baguette with butter as you wait (as if I need it). I've had numerous things here and all have been good, some better than others. The veg sandwich is solid, the nicoise sandwich is gigantic, and the chicken salad is really pieces of grilled chicken topped with pesto next to a delicious small salad and some tasty onions and butter beans. The house dressing that is on the salads they serve is extremely delicious. Most of the time they dress the salad properly too and it is not overladen with dressing. I'm not the biggest fan of their pasta with pesto; quite plain and I make a better version at home. I often get an espresso for after lunch. Keeps me on my toes for the 2nd half of the day. All in all a great place to dine when I want quiet time even if the lunches are a bit more than your average $10 lunch meal. read more

We felt that the price we paid was a gift, but will never go back. Our (first and last) experience at Le Petite Maison --- 1/5 stars I will go through each stage of the dinner to explain our shock that this place is well-liked and well-known Reservations: We called almost a month ahead of time and the unmannered lady told us, very rudely, that they have no reservations and that they are ALWAYS booked 2-3 weeks ahead of time (more on this later). We made a reservation finally two weeks later with another person with no trouble at all. In fact, we were able to get in the next night. Arrival: We arrived 5 minutes early, so that we could wait for someone out of town and order a couple drinks before they arrived. Well, I guess the restaurant thought this was wrong, because they not only gave us ugly looks when we arrived but made a verbal fuss about our early arrival, even though, again, we were going to order drinks and were only 5 minutes early at most. Seating: When they finally sat us there was not another soul in the building and there are only about 20 seats in the place total. The decorating is bland and non-descript, somewhat depressing and the bar is horribly understocked (only 4 beers...). Further, the staff will sit around and watch you if they have nothing else to do... Service: Our server was as cordial as one could be, but he hurried each portion of our meal. He hurried us in our drink selection, he hurried us to choose an appetizer, he hurried us to choose our meals, he hurried our meals and brought them with the salads not separate. And this is when we were the only people in there for over 30 minutes! They still hurried us! Of note, we asked the waiter how long it normally took to get reservations at the restaurant. He said, "Oh usually, just one day or 2 at most." As stated earlier, we called for reservations and the rude lady told us that they are ALWAYS booked 2-3 weeks out. After eating there, we now know this was a joke (to put it nicely)! Food: This is obviously the most important part of any meal, the food. I can forgive all the other categories and the rudeness and the price IF the food were even decent, but unfortunately we vowed never to go back after. The menu was typical french selections (Duck, steak, snails), but the preparation and selections were boring and uninspired. The food came out lukewarm (not even warm) and they love to drench stuff in sauces. By this time, we had such a horrible experience we did not even bother sending the food back, not that it would have helped. We ordered the most popular things on the menu.... The best part was leaving this place. The owners, the staff are very rude. The food is as boring as their decorating and restaurant in general. We were laughing outside at the whole place in general, especially since this place is consistently rated so well! I think I have grown to see that most people have no taste, and if a place puts on airs like Le Petite, people will fall for the act. They assume since a place can become so crowded (or act like they are crowded) and acts snobby, that it is a good place to eat. This unfortunately is RARELY true and not true at all for Le Petite. The good restaurants know that is a mixture of good service and good food that makes a good restaurant (see Ruth's Chris or Bones or Chops..these are good restaurants and oh by the way if you have guests they will be much more impressed by these anyway) In a nutshell: Le Petite is overhyped, rude staff, uninspired and overpriced. If this is up your ally, have a fun night! Otherwise, Bones, Chops, Ruth Chris, Lobster House, please try anywhere else, especially if you are showing someone Atlanta for the first time. read more

Very unassuming French restaurant on Roswell Road. I got the linguini with shrimp and scallops. The prices are in line with local restaurants. The food was very good and the portion size is large. The service was just right, attentive but not annoying. The food was good, but the desert was outstanding. The chocolate mousse comes with a plate that includes chocolate sauce, raspberry sauce, berries in brandy and a pastry. It was one of the best deserts I've had in a while.
