Located in old town San Juan - this gem was nestled on the port side. We waited for 30 minutes! Well worth it! We ordered the fried fish and pork chops. That fish! IG worthy - drooling thinking of it. They served it with a sweet sauce and rice and beans. I can't explain the deep fried saltiness of the fish dipped in that bean sauce. FIRE. The rice with the pork chops was soooo good. We ate outside. It was humid but we didn't car. Food was that good! Definitely go try it if you're in PR. You won't regret it.

Ambiance was good. It was right in the Main Street. Service was good. Server was attentive to the table but not to the point where it was annoying. Food was okay. Not spectacular. Definitely a place for tourists. And the bathroom- gross. The sink is supposed to be clear with a drain pipe. I understood that it was intended to match the theme of a countryside type bathroom (outhouse) but the pitch inside the sink to the drain isn't right and the water pools. Honestly disgusting.

If you come to Puerto Rico and not see this his place, you might as well stay home. The food at this place was off the scale.....utterly fanatic. The service was outstanding. However, when you visit pack your patience. The wait for entry was approximately 1.5 -2 hours. The wait time gave us an opportunity to shop and explore. Once we were seated everything moved along pretty quickly. Definitely a family, community oriented restaurant with friendly faces and laughter and banter throughout the restaurant. I ordered the signature dish Mofungo with beef and chicken, and my wife the fried snapper with sides of beans and rice....we could not finish it all...unknowingly we took the left overs in a doggie bag for late night munchies, unaware the Ship would not allow outside food onto the ship...so we had to leave it for disposal...we were heartbroken.

Service was great but the lack of hot sauce outside of Tobasco really hurt the experience. I think the owner who conveniently has hot sauce for sale does not offer any other options so that people are forced to pay $15 for his own hot sauce. Hopefully this changes in the future.

Wow, I loved everything I ate here! Queso frito, mofongo with pernil, and arroz con gandules. It tasted like home!! The service as super fast and very nice. Super cute inside!

Super friendly staff, food was really good, the portions were huge, I'm glad we didn't ordered way too much food. Located right in the hearth of Old San Juan. The drinks were pretty good as well, drinks, appetizer, meal, and tips $98

The best service. The skirt steak mofungo was the best meal I had in PR. Great place to eat.

This was our first Puerto Rican restaurant, and I did not know what to order. I chose something and it ended up being veggie pasta in a creamy sauce. It tasted okay, but was a bit boring; and the ratio of veggies to pasta was off, with the pasta being the far dominant entity. My husband ordered the fish tacos and he enjoyed it. We learned that in Puerto Rico, restaurants tend to take a bit longer to bring your food than back home. It's fine as long as you are aware of this fact.

Great location. We tried the tripleta mofongo and it was good. However, tho mofongo itself was a little dry. We also had the mini alcapurrias. They were greasy (very noticeable on the fingers, lol). We also tried the coconut mojito. It was not as good as other we had in the island. The Goya mayo ketchup was good, but not made in the restaurant.

My sorry picture of the white widow drink. It was very pretty when they gave it to me

I'm surprised this place didn't get better reviews. Yes it's loud. It's not very romantic, but their food is amazing.!! I hate that they don't have paper menus. And I don't like that they charge you $3.50 per bottle of water versus just bringing me a glass of water. BUT!!! The White Widow drink is so creative (and yet NOT) I had two. We loved the Sangria and the "tacos". I had the Mafungo Tripel". TO DIE FOR!!! Wow. So if you're from Puerto Rico and you eat authentic Puerto Rican food, you might not want to try this because I've never had Puerto Rican food before and I thought this was absolutely one of the best meals I've had creative wise. So... I'm not saying it's authentic, but it could be dead on spot on authentic. I don't know I just got off the cruise ship HA HA HA HA HA. Jose the server was fabulous as well.

Today we all went to this beautiful spot and discovered some delicious food. We had pastel prenao with arroz con gandules. Service is great and the owner came out took pictures with us. Fantastic highly recommend.

Wow this is a beautiful restaurant right in the middle of Old San Juan. It's near the port where cruises stop so you can pay a visit on your next trip. We were looking for a place that had soup and this place delivered! When we walked in, we didn't know that it was about to close in the next 10min, nonetheless they welcomed us in-mind you we were a party of 6 and provided amazing customer service. When I tell you this were the best steak tacos from San Juan, I am not kidding. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and tasted just right. Soup was delicious, pasta was full of flavor. There isn't a plate I think you can go wrong. This is a must! Also, almost forgot they gave a fully stocked bar.

We came her for dinner because they had the red snapper that my husband likes as well as a vegan menu for me. He really enjoyed his snapper . He said it had lots of flavor . I don't like that they serve soda in paper cups so we requested glass . I really liked the flavor of the vegan plantain boat. The sauce was very good. My only complaint was that the vegetables were steamed and then had sauce put on top. I wished they were sautéed and cooked with the sauce . But very happy and thankful about the vegan options. The waiter was very nice . The host warned us that everything is made fresh so it takes a while. It took an hour not as long as it seemed you ask me. I would come here again

Our server was very friendly and accommodating, especially since we were travelling with our child. The manager was also very accommodating and friendly. The menu is fairly simple. You choose a dish and 2 sides. First night, we ordered the blood sausage for an appetizer. I ordered the fried chicken with rice and beans as an entree. My husband ordered the mero (grouper). Surprisingly, the blood sausage was probably the best one I've tried so far. The chicken was fried perfectly, not greasy at all. The rice and beans perfect compliments to the dish. The grouper stole the show though. It was absolutely delicious, probably one of the best fish I've ever had. A few days after, we decided to have dinner here again after my son wanted to eat there. The waiter from the first night and manager recognized us (from the time before) and thanked us for coming back. This time, I ordered the mero with arroz con habichuelas. The grouper was even better than the 1st time I had ordered it. We also tried the juices (orange, passion fruit, tamarind, and soursop) and all of them were so fresh. We loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

We split it between 3 people and they said it could feed 4 but hmmm, I'd be skeptical of that. I think no more than 2 comfortably honestly as a meal. The sampler was delicious though and had all the main things I wanted. The corn fritters were a hit and the steak was well cooked and seasoned. While the food was good, the wait was a little long and the service was mid (not bad but not the best we've had). Solid 4 stars

Well good news, the food is still good! I stopped in during the festival of San Sebastian and the restaurant was packed! We luckily got a seat for two and were able to order right away. I order the mofongo de pollo and my friend ordered a different meal with a soup. I am not going to lie, the service was extremely slow and the food took about 30 to 40 mins maybe to come out. I expect this was because of the festival and how busy the restaurant was. When the food came out, it was delicious! The chicken was great and drenched in a salsa criolla sauce. There was absolutely nothing good about the mix. The alcapurrias has no meat whatsoever, the chicharrónes were not crispy and the cheese was just awful. I wanted to give them a 1star review but I felt this would not be fair because we did not try an entree and I hope that would be better. The 3star was because the service was good.
