La Piñata did a fabulous job on the day of our wedding. They took care of everything, knew the venue well, and it all looked fantastic. The breakdown was also quick and professional, done before the required wrap time. Planning was a bit difficult, but we aren't event planners and were doing our best to do things ourselves on a budget, which we discovered is not cheap! They are reasonable for LA, but any rental house feels like it takes a big chunk of your budget! We ended up buying our own table cloths and napkins because the rental price seems so steep to us, but everything else went off without a hitch! read more

La Pinata showroom is beautiful. The wide variety of options, styles, and textures are great. Brian was very patient with me at our appointment, we did a mock set up so that I could get a better idea of what I wanted. I spent almost an hour there. When I left I was so relieved and felt a weight off of my shoulders, wedding planning is a lot. I received a quote a few days later and couldn't believe the price for delivery. The delivery was $300+ more than what my rentals were, and they do not help set anything up. I was told they would put the tables and chairs where they need to go but everything else, glasses and flatware would be in their crates and need to be set up by someone else. Same for pick up. You'd think for $1700 they would do that for you. There's always a catch, just a heads up. My delivery window for my venue was 1-3PM and pick up 10-11PM. read more

Our venue didn't provide much so we had to rent just about everything and La Piñata Party came very highly recommended from the venue! They have a lovely team who were super communicative and so easy to work with. We were able to visit their warehouse a few times so we were able to see everything we were renting in person, which was huge for us because so much can get lost in translation with photos. Absolute garbage example of a company who almost ruined my wedding. We had a very nice wedding planned in Upper Las Virgines in Calabasas. This company was to deliver propane tanks for the grill amongst other items...Well, they delivered the tanks, but the tanks had been leaking. The entire groom and bride areas wreaked of propane and we had to step out as it was a danger. The manager, Brian, was worthless. They tried to blame our caterers. Nobody touched the valve. It was faulty equipment and they had zero backup. Piss poor job from a piss poor company. Its been months since our wedding and I thought I would finally calm down. We were reimbursed our cost for the propane but the damage was done. Not sure it is even worth the time or energy to sue this piss poor company and their absolutely horrible management. read more

Ok listen up, I'm a wedding planner and one time I had a client ask me to find them a mandap (a big 4-pole 10ft tall ceremony structure) but they didn't want the 2 poles in the front. Yikes! Structurally I had no idea how this could work. But I called up David from La Pinata Rentals and he immediately replied with: CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Thank goodness because he not only made this structure but it looked really cool! La Pinata is now our go-to rental company and they are even traveling out to Moab, Utah for one of our clients' glamping weddings. When our original rental company bailed due to the downsizing our wedding, we were in desperate need of securing new rentals fairly close to the event date. La Pinata came through for us and were a genuine pleasure to work with. They have a comprehensive list on their website but we were also able to go in in person (with masks of course!) to look at the items we wanted which was invaluable. The staff was professional, friendly, and helped load our trailer upon pickup and drop-off. Pricing was completely reasonable and the team was flexible in regards to returns. Every item we rented - tables, chairs, linens, flatware, and stemware etc. - was well-packed, clean, and beautiful. I have been using La Piñata Party Rentals for about a year. I use them in my capacity as Catering Coordinator - I do catering and event coordinating. The first time they helped me, was for a large memorial service I had to cater in a home in Sherman Oaks with a unique layout and tough to get into (lots and lots of stairs!). Brian came to the walkthrough appointment to look at the home with me and my client, made great suggestions and provided them with everything they needed to have a successful event. The quality of the items they have are great and their pricing is very reasonable. I began to use them because some rental companies closer to me were being very unresponsive and would take days and days (sometimes over a week) to respond. I depend on great vendors - if they do a great job, my client is happy and they make me look good because I'm working with a great team of people. La Piñata Party Rentals is exactly the company I was looking for. I work with Brian and he's AMAZING! While we are a little further away from each other, they still will provide their rentals to my clients in the San Fernando Valley and most recently Pasadena. BEWARE: I should have looked at previous reviews before I chose these guys as my rental place. Let me breakdown the scam and the faulty customer service. I had a casual dinner for 15-20 people planned. I asked for 2 8' foot tables and two table cloths to go with them. Lo and behold, the tables wouldn't fit in my car- totally my bad. I told them to give me 2 6' foot tables instead, and they didn't have to reimburse me. A place with good customer service person would have reimbursed me the cost of the 2 tables and the 2 cloths since the sizes would be too big at that point. But they didn't, and whatever, because I told them to do that. Here is the scam: I return the table cloths, 1 was used, 1 un-used. The gal at the counter inspected the used one in front of me and told me there were burn holes. WE DID NOT HAVE CANDLES ON THE TABLE. And, when I looked at these "burn holes", they looked more like tiny slits. I had a dinner with responsible adults, with only some food stains on the table, with plastic ware. I was told they were going to charge me $40 to replace the cloth and that I could keep the cloth. Hey folks, customers are not responsible for keeping your stock looking like new. Since I am a big believer in being a repeat customer to those who deserve it, I paid the lousy fee, took my "new table cloth" with the tiny cut in it, and left. No sense of arguing if I can stick it to them by never coming back and never recommending them for rentals. I love supporting local businesses, but if you are renting out faulty cloths just so your customers can buy you new ones when they return, that is just bad for business. CAUTION, read this whole review!!! We used La Piñata for our thanksgiving party table and chairs. The good... The quality of the chairs and table was good and the price was comparable to other places. The young man who works there was helpful and kind. The bad... We received our table cloth with a burn hole right in view which we had to figure out how to cover it on the table. The ugly... Upon returning everything and pointing out the burn hole we were accused of making the hole, and the owners justification was that when washed the hole may look different... So that means that we may have gotten our tablecloth unwashed!! We pointed out the hole so that they could limit other people having this issue again. We were confronted by the owner of La Piñata and told our card (***which they secretly make a photocopy of***) would be charged to replace the table cloth!! We strongly advise caution if you choose to use La Piñata, and be careful with your card details as they break PCI compliance in copying credit card info!! Very poor customer service!! read more

I've used all the rental companies in the South Bay and La Piñata has one of the best selection and quality of inventory. Take a peek at my event photos and let their equipment speak for themselves. For my recent event I worked with Brian mostly through email. He was extremely helpful with my order revisions. On the day of the delivery the crew did an amazing job. They were polite and very hardworking. It was a super hot summer day and they never complained. I even asked if they were going to take a break, but one of the guys said they wanted to keep going. Shout out to David who stopped by the setup. I also met him in the showroom and he is always professional. Got just what I needed here! Was looking for a piñata in the shape of an airplane, and they had it- yay! Parking was easy, but it was pouring rain, so I assume lots of people weren't out. Didn't start off that great initially, with this phone conversation: "Hi, I'm wondering if you have a piñata in the shape of a plane?" "Yes, we do." "Amazing!!!! Can you tell me what it looks like?" "It's a plane." "Ok... some other places had cartoon planes, is it from a cartoon movie?" "No." "Can you tell me what color it is?" "White." "Can you tell me what SIZE it is??" Was like pulling teeth to get a description!! I had been online looking for plane piñatas, and saw several different kinds of shapes, colors, and sizes. But, in all fairness, this one looked like your regular old plane that you fly in at the airport. Could use some better customer service over the phone (more than one-word answers) and I think the space could be jazzed up. Also could use bigger bags to carry my large, odd-shaped piñata. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL COMPANY. This is the first Yelp review I have ever written, but am upset enough by this experience that I want to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else in the future. I rented some tables, chairs, and linens for a baby shower. I ordered a table cloth long enough to cover two 6' tables. When I got home and set the tables up, the material didn't make it to the ends of the table (table cloth was supposed to be 156", two 6' tables = 144", therefore should have been 6" on either side). I called to see what we could do (if they had other options at the warehouse etc) and the employee started arguing with me saying that the only thing they would do is "let me bring it in so that we could measure it together." Not helpful. I needed something done to make the tablecloth work before a party stating in 2 h. A company with good customer service would have said that they would deliver something that works. Or at a minimum get something together that I could pick up. They did not. If you are spending the money to make your event a bit more special/elegant with rental tables/tablecloths, you expect to have everything fit and look nice. This did not. THE MOST UPSETTING PART: when I dropped off the stuff, not only did they refuse to refund the cost of the rental, but they made me PAY THEM for the tablecloth (75$) because of two small stains less than the size of a nickel. They were not apologetic in the least. I will never use this rental company again and recommend you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

They even offered a couple of fun items like steel-bucket bench for beer and other drinks, that made the event even more fun! David, especially, really took care of us.
