I rented several items for a charity event, and they were perfect for the Mad Hatter Tea Party we were having. I rented a keyhole arch, a large pink throne and then added the black & white checkerboard floor. The arch & throne were great, but the driver would not unload the floor because it was raised 2" and a tripping hazard for where we were going to use it. I agreed. I called them after the event and explained what happened. Based on their employee's recommendation, we didn't use it (i didn't even get to see it.). They refused a refund and only offered a store credit....for a charity. Renting these props were a splurge for us, and they would not even consider a refund. read more

I was very happy with the service of Platinum Prop Rentals. My advice is to pay a little extra for the day before delivery. This helped us for setting up with balloon garlands etc. We had a small hiccup with the pick up being at 11 PM because the party was still going. Irma ended up being very accommodating and we were able to work it all out, which I appreciated. The delivery and pick up crew were very nice and made sure everything was stable. I appreciate that Platinum Prop Rentals let's customers come see the props and is also open with generous hours on the weekend. PLEASE READ!!!! I ordered some Hollywood props for my daughters Prom send off. Upon arriving I was greeted by an employee who was extremely knowledgably and pleasant. She provided me with everything necessary for me to place my order. I should have known that when a vendor asks for ALL the money in FULL upon reservation there would be some type of issue. After paying close to $2,000 for these props I was disrespected and talked to like I was NOT a paying consumer by the owner Imani. They have a MANDOTORY policy on some of the rentals that are rented, while renting some of these props you will be charged a $200 fee for set up. When making the order I was told that this fee is Mandatory, and I didn't have a problem with that. Being that I was told that it was MANDOTORY one would think that it would be on the original invoice, well it was not. I received a call from the owner Imani on Tuesday confirming my reservation for Saturday. While confirming she is explaining to me the policy that I was already told about this one particular prop, while explaining to her that I assumed that it was added to the invoice already she gave me a nasty response and quote " Well it wasn't and that's why I'm calling you". Let's just say things went left after she said that. After her talking to me like I was one of her friends and not a paying costumer, she than began to be condescending making it appear that it was about the extra money. I simply point out to her that if it was about money do you think I would be spending this amount on fucking PROPS?? She then states that she will not be spoken to like this, and she won't be going back and forth with me, she will let Kayla deal with me. So, I guess that after she called me with the tone, she had she expected not to be checked. Right idea but wrong person!!!! I told her that I will wait to speak with Kayla, and I hung up. Imani calls me back 5 minutes later and says, Hi this is Imani from platinum prop house the one you just hung up on, I'm just going to cancel your order and refund you the money. I was on Rosecrans and Fig in 3 point 5 seconds on her ass, because this is 4 days before my event. upon arriving she's on the phone with a costumer being RUDE, she has no idea who I am walking in. Oh, but baby I quickly let her know. We began to have a heated argument and her husband David steps in. I only gave this one star because he tried to come and make things right, but then they began to get into it because he could not control his wife/business partner. SMH!!! This young lady Imani tried to pull rank with me because she was the owner by saying she would cancel my reservation. I walked in there using HARD EARNED CASH and to be treated like that was just insane to me. I was given the option to pay $180 dollars instead of $200 dollars for set up. In my opinion that was not enough compensation for what took place with Imani. The fact that all of this took place on Tuesday and my event was Saturday I was left with no choice but to continue with what I had already reserved in January. Regular working ppl don't spend your money here. I'll assume that you have to be a Kardashian to be treated with respect as I seen that they provided props for an event that Kim had, I wonder if she was spoken to with such attitude and sass. The props are not that hard to put up because I was able to arrange for someone else to come and assist me but wait till you see the picture that they gave me with the instructions. If she treats PAYING customers like this, I wonder how she treats the ppl she is PAYING? Did I mention that the owner is EXTREMELYMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL? I would never recommend this place to any one and will make it my mission to blast this place on every platform I can think of. Oh, and this same review is copied just in case you try and delete it.
