La Pita had my favorite all around middle eastern food during a trip to Dearborn. We had kibbe, the mixed grill with fries and almond rice. Kibbe was fantastic and the grilled meats were flavorful and juicy. The fries with garlic sauce was amazing. I also couldn't stop eating the almond rice. I've dined here for years, the food is consistently fresh, well priced and the service is always good. The owners are committed to exceeding their customers needs. The bread is simply the best, made fresh and served warm. My favorite are the raw juices and dinner platters. The salads are good too. I had a V4 raw juice which is basically La Pita's version of a V8 but better. I also enjoyed a bowl of crushed lentil soup and a super kafta sandwich that was out of this world. In an effort to eat healthier, I consume middle eastern food every week and LP is a staple for me. LP is extremely busy during lunch and dinner time. I recommend dining here from 11am to noon for lunch or from 2pm to 5pm for linner = late lunch or early dinner. I love La Pita, especially in the summer. Their patio is great! The restaurant is new looking and very clean, the service is always good, and the food is fresh and yummy. Homemade bread and seasoned pita chips are served at the beginning of the meal, so if you're watching your carbs, let them know not to bring it. It's too good to waste! Their smoothies are also delicious - I tried the "Femme Fatale" on the server's suggestion, and it's so good! Coconut and citrus; refreshing and delicious. So, I unknowingly arrived here right during the Ramadan holiday and the place was packed. I already went to another place in Dearborn and was told an hour wait. So I went to La Pita (my second time here) and asked for a table. I was told 40 minutes because while they had the space available, they were short on staff. Just then the manager arrived (I did not call him over), and he over heard the conversation and said..."just one?" and I said yes. He said "hold on, we'll make this work". In just a few minutes I was at a table and had multiple waitresses making sure I was taken care of. I noticed that it appeared that some family members were helping out too. My second visit to La Pita was just as good as my first. The food was excellent, and the servers were more than pleasant (even though being slammed by the holiday rush). This is now my go to place for Mediterranean food. Both experiences were excellent, and the service was outstanding and kind. I wish I knew the manager's name (owner?) to give him my thanks. This is a more casual restaurant, food and flavor great and they were willing to accommodate by substituting veggies instead of pita. Soup was fab, the server was attentive and friendly. We would give our meal tonight 6 stars if we could. The Chicken Tawook was absolutely delicious.... perfectly grilled, moist, tender and well cleaned. The pita bread was piping hot, soft and puffy. The garlic sauce was fresh and super flavorful. The hummus was hands down the BEST we have ever had. Everything was so delicious that we ate until we could barely breathe and we still had leftovers to take home. The ambiance is fairly upscale. Very nice that this restaurant has a full bar. Tried this restaurant last night. They apologized for the wait because they were very busy and we were told the food would take a little longer. The wait for both was slightly longer, but it so worth the wait. The food was incredible and and plenty of it. I had the chicken mixed with pine nuts, rice with almonds, grilled vegetables and hummus. I don't come from around here but I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

I've only actually eaten inside once, but La Pita is a definite take out lunch staple of mine. I know the interior is quite nice, and plenty of friends speak well of it. I can speak to how much I like the take out process. I usually order online through the Yelp app, but I've been told they have their own app which also results in customer loyalty rewards. I'll have to try it out in the future. On to the food? It's not mind blowing Mediterranean for me, but it's certainly reliable and yummy. La Pita in West Dearborn is a hidden jewel in Dearborn. From the environment to the quality of food, everything about this restaurant exceeds any expectations one could have. The staff is professional, helpful and courteous. There's even a banquet hall available to rent that's available, which adds to the services they provide beyond any other restaurant in Dearborn. I come here often during my lunch breaks or whenever I want to show friends what Dearborn has to offer. My usual is either the grilled chicken fattoush or spicy chicken Man-ushi. 100% of the time the food comes out perfect and flavorful. Dine-In service always comes with free delicious warm bread and toasted pita chips. So you'll always leave stuffed to the brim, because they also serve an abundance of food for what you pay for. You'll leave stuffed and satisfied even if you come for a quick bite. From the bottom of my heart, I would recommend this place to the president. If had to choose one restaurant that captures of essence of Dearborn and middle eastern food, it would be La Pita. If you're skimming through reviews wondering where to eat, 11/10 I suggest you bite the bullet and give this place a shot. It has been a long while since I was eating in the Dearborn area, so I decided to drop by an old favorite seeing as I had the opportunity. I was delighted. My beloved La Pita has, for the first time in many years since I started eating here, updated the menu by adding a few new dishes. How exciting! As always, the decor and atmosphere was second-to-none. I was greeted promptly and with the utmost of friendliness and quickly seated, despite it being Saturday evening and rather busy. In short order my server appeared, who by the way was the single most attentive and pleasant waitress I've ever had (someone give Mona a raise), and she got drinks out quickly. Food also came fast, and, as expected, it was fresh, flavorful, and presented with extreme aesthetic appeal. I tried the newer Lentil Salad, which is basically the Fattoush Salad mixed with Mujaddara - and the best thing ever, more or less. I highly recommend it. I keep forgetting how much I like LaPita because I am not in Dearborn all that much.. but after a particularly chilly night of Halowe'en in Greenfield Village, some hot comfort food sounded amazing. Yes, hummus and super savory garlicky food is comfort to me- lol. They have plenty of tasty options for our vegetarian companion and lots of garlic for my husband and I. Win-win! Tonight we dine at LaPita in West Dearborn (MI). The setting takes you back to the Middle East and you have the option of a booth or table to dine at. When you sit down you received hot pita bread and fried pita chips. The bread is baked infront so all can see in a large oven. Matt ordered a Chicken Cilantro soup. It wasn't a spicy soup and the taste of cilantro was minimal he said. I got the Fetush which is a salad with Romain lettuce, diced tomatoes and cucumbers and baked pita chips. The dressing was light which is good cause some places put too much on making the salad soggy. The Chicken Shishtawook sandwich comes on a pitta with marinated chicken and pickles. No tomatoes like some other places I've eaten. This made it a little dry and I used garlic sauce with the sand which. Matt got chicken kabobs and roasted vegetables and potatoes. He said the flavor was really good. The amount was enough to feed two people. It gets busy fast and fills up about 6 pm but we only had a 10 minute wait and parking was across the street. Our son was getting married in the Detroit area and we were looking for a place to host the rehearsal dinner. There were many options but they began to get fewer as we progressed with the date, a week and a half before Christmas, and the number of guests that we would be inviting, 70 plus as we included all guests that traveled for the wedding. Not being from the area also created another obstacle as we were trying to do this by looking on line and through telephone calls. We found La Pita, they were available for the date that we needed and also could accommodate the size of our group. I spoke with Mohamed on the phone and immediately felt comforted and at ease. He was extremely efficient and very easy to work with. He assured us that he would take care of all the details and prepare a great meal for us. We chose our menu from the many options available and were quite pleased with the affordability of the options. We asked about restrictive diets and children options and he came up with wonderful solutions for us. To say that the food was absolutely amazing is an understatement, everyone raved about their meal and the options that they were given. Our main dishes were lemon chicken breast and shish kabob, with Persian rice and grilled vegetables. We were allowed to bring in a cake and this was cut and plated by La Pita staff. The entire staff, from Mohammad to the bartender and wait persons were professional and friendly and made for a most pleasant and positive experience. The venue was beautiful, quite large, could easily hold a larger group and was separate from the main restaurant assuring a private experience with dedicated staff. The whole experience here helped to contribute to a wonderful weekend. Although we do not live in the area, La Pita will be a must visit on return trips. we are extremely grateful for the wonderful experience. La Pita is a great choice for your next event or just for a wonderful dinner. We wish we could rate higher than 5 stars because they truly deserve it. read more

I had the absolute smallest Middle Eastern sandwich of any kind that I've ever been served tonight at La Pita, barely enough for a small snack...*certainly* not enough for anything *close* to a meal, and this thing clocked in at $6.36. Ri-freaking-diculous. Not that it was bad or anything, but it also wasn't anything great, either...just average. Average *and* tiny. And expensive. I dined at La Pita several years ago and remember it being much better than this experience today. I will not be back again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... How is this place able to get away with this in *Dearborn* of all places? I have been coming here for 15 years, and sadly have watched the quality of the food go down. Even my co-workers have said the same thing. La Pita is more expensive than the competition, and I would expect the quality to be better, but sadly it isn't. Even down to the little diced beets they used to have, now they serve up dried up beet chunks and the lettuce has been questionable in the past 3 salads I have gotten from there. The shawrama pita sandwiches have also gone downhill - dry chicken, thin, and for $6 I would expect much better. :( read more

This place was great! Their prices were a little high but the food was supper fresh and made with quality ingredients and their serving sizes were very generous so it was definitely worth it! I ordered this off of the lunch special section of the menu and had plenty of leftovers to bring home and enjoy again later. My favorite place still is Family Bakery on Warren. The best ever kafta sandwich (esp. when on the fresh pie bread.) Don't waste your time and money here unless you REALLY need a drink and want Middle Eastern food. Because that's about all that sets this place apart at this point. Several years ago my family and I were regulars here. We returned this weekend after a few years away and we weren't as pleased. Service was just okay. Food was just okay. While nothing was bad or wrong with the meal, there was nothing about the meal that was good or great either. We didn't feel it was worth the price paid. This is my go-to spot for Middle Eastern cuisine- it never disappoints! I always get a salad with grilled chicken or shwarma, and a small hummus. (BTW the small hummus is huge) The salad dressing is so good it should be bottled and sold! It was my cousin's first time here and she couldn't stop raving about the fresh baked pita bread and the delicious food. The waitress was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Absolutely insane. LaPita is the mothereffin' f(alafel)- bomb! Just be sure to arrive hungry, as the portion size is enough to feed a small family. I know, usually when you get enormous portions, the food just isn't good. Have no doubt, though, this food is perfection. I ordered the veggie platter consisting of hummus (just how I like it, perfectly creamy/garlicky), babaganoush (smokey/sweet), salad, rice w/almonds (usually I avoid rice and see it as filler, but this rice is irresistable), falafel (perfect flavor and not dry), four dolmas (giant! scrumptious) and spinach pie (the only thing on the plate that wasn't to die for, as it's not made with philo). They give each table a basket of pita (whole grain and sesame), pita chips with za'atar for you to scoop up all that deliciousness. Cue the food coma! Oh well, you can always have a smoothie if you don't want to go there. Or, as we did, in addition to all of that. Is it any wonder I had more than half the plate left over? LaPita has it all: a large menu offering up meat and veg options, big salads, platters and sandwiches. They also have lovely ambiance that makes it both an enjoyable lunch spot and a romantic place to get dinner that won't break the bank. read more

Reliable and tasty. It reminds me a heck of a lot of the old La Shish which, scandal aside, are happy memories for me. It will not shock you with originality or hard to find type authentic items. All a happy choice. The stars of the show here though are the lunch combos with choice of meat. I generally want chicken shwarma, lamb kafta, salmon or shish tawook with lemon oregano sauce. For eleven or twelve bucks you get rice, salad and hummus to go with plus pitas and garlic sauce. A steal. Again, nothing that will awe you if you are familiar to the cuisine. Prior to a dinner at La Pita, I had visited 3 other middle eastern restaurants in the area known to have the largest concentration of Arab Americans in the country. La Pita is the most trendy looking place of them all, with a lounge on the side. Most patrons and staff don't look Arab Americans. Surprisingly their price point is on par with the hole-in-the-wall places, for about the same generous portion size. Better yet, they serve lunch specials all day. I love the complimentary pita chips and fresh warm pita bread served in a bamboo steamer. No pickles here but that's totally fine with me. I love that they not only have the typical lentil soup and lemon chicken rice soup, but two other soups. Lamb barley soup: 5 stars. Get it! Hommous: 4 stars. Creamy not pasty. Vegetarian stuffed grape leaves: 4 stars. Baba Ghannouge (their spelling): 3.5 stars. Falafel: 2.5 stars. Too spiced for my liking with a slightly bitter taste. Tabbouli: 2 stars. The parsley seemed overdressed and wilted. I wish I could report on the meat dishes but we didn't get any since my SO somehow decided to get a vegetarian combo ($13), for once in his life, and the falafel salad ($10) I ordered is basically a smaller version of the vegetarian combo. How we failed to discuss serious matters such as what to order before reaching decisions is beyond me. read more

I can't give a recommendation because I feel like people generally know what they like & will order from Middle Eastern restaurants. Everything I tried here was delicious, & I will definitely be back. My friends said they usually get take out because service can be slow, but I didn't experience that at all. In fact, our server, Taylor, was the best part of the visit. So sweet & didn't get irritated with all of our requests including a confusing split check. She made a suggestion & had us add mint to our chai hookah, which was really helpful. Prices made me happy too! Nothing bad to say about the place at all, I was glad to be there :) read more

I like this restaurant because their rice pilaf is almost as good as my dad makes. The puffy pita bread is served the way I love it: hot, unlimited and free. The entrees are a little expensive, but you get what you pay for in quality and portions. They serve lunch entrees anytime; if you're not in the mood for leftovers, I suggest ordering a lunch. I've been 4 times and every time, I've gotten the same thing... classic shish kabobs. I'm a total freak for lamb (sorry Lisa Simpson). LaPita's lamb is seasoned well and very tasty. The shish kabob dinner ($18) comes with two skewers, rice and soup or salad. The lunch ($12) comes with one skewer, rice, fattoush salad and a generous helping of houmous. Either option will fill you up! My only complaint about LaPita is not cooking the lamb the way I order it. Why bother asking me how I want it cooked if it's going to come out char-broiled anyway? Only on my last visit, they did come close. They didn't serve it medium as I asked, but at least it wasn't burnt like previous visits. If you like your lamb medium-rare, make sure to drill that to the waitress so she can tell the cooks. But don't be disappointed if it's overcooked. It seems to be a trend here. Also, if you want a nice intimate dinner here, request a booth. Otherwise, most of their tables are situated too closely to one another. read more

La Pita is definitely worth the drive, and the wait. My father and I went there today for lunch and it was delicious, we both had the lamb tenderloin lunch special which is amazing. The warm pitas with hummus are also perfect. Make sure to ask for portions of hummus to come out first so you can eat it with the pitas and crisps as an appetizer. We told our waitress she could take it from the portion that comes with our meal but there was heaping portions for each and we got to box up the left over pitas and hummus to eat later. The sides that came with the meat were also to die for. The tart salad and yummy pilaf were perfect in combination with the meat and vegetables. My dad also asked for a small side of "the white garlic stuff" to dip the lamb in and she knew exactly what we were talking about, it was a nice enhancement. If you are going during the lunch rush (12-1) make sure you have a good chunk of time. They were extremely busy so the wait was understandable. That being said, most things were delivered timely and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. You can also buy the lamb kebobs raw for a reasonable price so you can cook them fresh yourself for events, we did it for Christmas last year and they were just as good. I can't believe I've never reviewed LaPita before now! I really enjoy it every time. :) We went again last week while a friend was visiting from out of town. He said it's difficult to get good Middle Eastern food in his part of Texas. Ya think? We didn't bother ordering anything for our toddler, knowing she'd love the hummus and bread. We were very right. I had the Shish Kabob and requested the lamb medium, as the menu said the chef suggested. It was fantastic, and I ate all but one piece of it - this is remarkable for me! Of course I hadn't even taken it easy on the hummus before my meal arrived either. Not many restaurants inspire me to eat until I'm almost uncomfortably full, but LaPita can.
