They are not unreasonably priced and they are big with an average amount of meat and cheese, and wide bread, but they are awful as far as seasoning. No salt, no pepper, no vinegar, and no oregano. None at all! There was a very slight drizzle of oil and it did not seem like olive oil. Gave this place a try on Friday night after getting it a few months ago since I ordered tacos and enjoyed them I wanted to give the pizza a try. (Yep, they serve tacos as well!) Cammarata's has a special place in my heart. I used to order at least once a week during my undergrad student days. Their pizza hits the spot. I think it's also one of the more reasonably priced pizzerias in the area for what it's worth, in terms of sizes, toppings, and pizza quality. They have many many creative pizza and other menu items: there is something for everyone! Beyond pizza, for sure try the garlic knots. They are $4.00 per order. My mom who is relentlessly picky asks me about the garlic knots every now and then (even though the last time she had them was 5 years ago). I will be picking up some to surprise her soon. Always in search of great NJ pizza, I happened upon Cammarata's for lunch today. You know what? I thought it was great! Nothing fancy here, not even a parking lot. Just a small little pizzeria on Livingston Ave. All the pies on display looked good, but I chose my old standby, the sausage slice! Nice and thin crust, great sauce, a good amount of sausage...it was excellent! Prices were great here and service was friendly. No problem parking on side street either. I'm currently in a rental in town and I just tried this place because it's so close and I am so glad I did. The pizza is delicious and the sandwiches and kids meals have been a hit as well. While the parking lot is one of the most awful things ever (is there even one?!), the food is fresh and tasty. Their pizzas are just the right amount of cheese and crispness. Their mozzarella sticks were so cheesy and the onion rings were a bit hit. I really was into their chicken cheese steak and there were a bunch of different options for pizza. The prices are super reasonable and we haven't run into any issues with waiting for our order. They have a cheap lunch special too where you get two slices and a soda for $5 and a dinner special with two pies and a 2-liter soda for $22.50 Monday - Thursday! read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk by. The inside is clean. There are tables to eat at which is a big plus in my book. They have a special for two slices and can of soda for $5. Actually $0.50 cheaper than Livingston pizza and the pizza tastes so much better. One of my two slices was almost the size of two slices. I didn't get the special just wanted slices. I would definitely recommend this place. Friendly staff as well. Didn't get the impression that they didn't want me there like my last pizzeria review. And it's a huge plus that they have table to eat at. All these places should have eat in facilities. read more

One of favorite Pizza places. Went here as a kid and they have only improved. Recently stopped in for a slice for nostalgia. They completely renovated the shop. Pizza: Great plain cheese pizza. Crisp crust and lots of cheese, good size too. Not too greasy and just enough sauce. Not the same as when I was a kid, a more modern version. A great NYC style slice. Buffalo Chicken Pizza: I had to try a slice. Didn't know it would be a meal. Loaded with chicken and cheese. A good amount of blue cheese but needed to be hotter ( I like heat) Still, I loved it. I would get this again. Scilian Pizza: Very Good. Not the best but very good. Good combo of cheese and sauce. Thick crust with a firm and crispy bottom. Very tasty. I wish they were closer to home. Midweek specials are a good value. The plain cheese pizza is one of my favorites in NJ. read more

It was sad to see a Livingston icon "The Mountain" end this way. Vinny built an amazing small town pizzeria. This place has been through a lot (as you can tell by some of the older reviews) but I'm happy to say it is now the home of the best pizza in Livingston. The owner put a substantial investment in bringing the place up to date and cleaning it up... It's a nice clean restaurant now. The pizza is out of this world... The owner apprenticed under one of the masters from a long bloodline of pizza makers from Brooklyn. You know, the place where they take pizza very seriously. I went to visit Cammarata's pizza after 15 years and it is still as good. Even though it is under new management they still have a good slice. The pepperoni here is my favorite, they slice it in strips so they are long pieces. It is as good as I remember. They have also updated the inside with a few new tables and counters. Delivery may be an issue here, but for sit in or carry out they have a fresh slice and good wings. I also got the hot wings (hottest) and they were ready in 5 mins and tasty. Talking about the basics, the pizza is mediocre at best. I am incredibly picky when it comes to Italian food. But, you cannot beat the prices and portions here! They give you an entire loaf of garlic bread rather than a piece. Not to mention, the penne vodka is pretty good (I'd pick it over any place in Livingston since I've tried nearly all Italian restaurants in this town and none are good aside from here). I was very disappointed tonight for the first time in this plc. When the owners are there the food is fantastic!! Tonight my meatball parm wasn't . I have been going to this local takeout pizza place for over twenty years. It use to be my favorite place until the past few yeats. I enjoy a well done crust and order accordingly. Unfortunately, the prearation has been inconsistent. It has been underdone at least 50% of the time. being takeout, there is not much that can be done once you are home. My wife usually orders a salad. Last night she unfortunately pulled out a very long hair from the salad. The same situation has happened several times over the past year or so. This is my favorite place for pizza. My choice is thin crust. Staff is friendly and remembers their customers. The subs are tasty, bread is always fresh. Meatballs are very flavorful. Baked ziti is like Moms. Salads are homemade. When I go to Cammarata's it is a difficult choice to make because I want everything all the time. Holiday Italian Specialities are so good. Glad to see that Cammarata's has reopened and decided to stop by and grab a few slices. Met the new owner, Tony, a member of the Cammarata family. Really nice that it's staying in the family. Tony is an experienced pizza maker, friendly and makes a really good pie. I tried the cheese and sausage both tasty. All you old fans should return and give it a try. The shop has been updated, modernized and looks great. I will return soon to try some of my other favorites. I do miss Donna's salads and look forward to seeing them added to the menu. read more

The food quality is in my opinion on the below average level. I've stopped a couple of times to pick up a slice and every single time, I was unimpressed. I would have to completely disagree with other posters. Frankly, can't understand it since I've been here about 2-3 times over the past few years.
