They have a DELICIOUS STRAWBERRY JUICE and very YUMMY TACOS!!!! I was sooo pleasantly surprised when I discovered this place through Yelp. I originally came here for their tacos and smoothie. But I saw someone order a strawberry drink and it looked so good! I asked for a recommendation between that or the smoothies and the kind employee gave me a sample of the Fresh Strawberry Juice to which I had to choose because it tasted AMAZING!!! When she brought out the chicken and asada tacos I ordered, it came with two fresh cucumbers and lots of hot sauce options. It was sooo tasty, not dry, and very authentic!! The ambiance is very colorful and exciting. They even have claw machines! I will definitely be recommending this place to others and bringing my husband when I return. read more

The first time I came here was not the smoothest visit. 100% my fault. I was so excited to finally make it here that I bought probably more than I should have, including two huge aguas frescas, several paletas, and an assortment of other snacks. I overestimated my ability to juggle all of these upon my exit and, when putting them into my car, spilled one of the huge aguas frescas EVERYWHERE in the front two seats. It was hibiscus flavored and bright red. I ran back inside to get napkins to help sop it up but in the end I had to really get in there with some cleaning supplies at home to get all the dried, sticky beverage out of the crevices. I had about a 1/4 of the hibiscus drink left and chugged it in frustration. Good news? It was delicious! That one had been for my husband (oops) and I had gotten myself a mango one, which I also quite enjoyed (and had more of it enjoy since there was no spillage there). Not one to hold my own stupidity against anyone else I returned to La Pina Loca a bit later. This time forgoing beverages that were not of the frozen variety. I got my husband the pina colada (virgin) and myself a churro sundae. Having learned my lesson, I enjoyed my ice cream seated at one of the smaller tables they have in their storefront. It was a good call. The sundae was so good! Ultra indulgent and bigger than I had estimated. I wasn't able to finish the whole thing. The pina colada was delicious as well. I didn't finish it like the previous hibiscus drink though, which means my husband got to enjoy it. He's a bit of a pina colada connoisseur and he loved it. There are several savory snacks on the menu here, many of which are adorned with tajin and/or hot cheetos. Admittedly, I'm not much for spicy food (I don't mind it, but my acid reflux has other ideas), so I typically forgo those, but if you're into that you'll find some really fun flavors and photogenic snacks to be had here! read more

AMAZING. I can't believe I didn't know about this place until now. They have SO many fresh drink and treat options, tacos, tamales, tortas, snacks, and more! The mangonada is incredible -- that authentic mango + spicy chile flavor that really hits the spot. And it's a very generous size, too. I also got a mango agua fresca. It's clearly fresh, tastes like a juicy mango with a tiny bit of pulp. I can't wait to come back here for lunch and try food, more drinks, and maybe some ice cream . read more

Food here is delicious and fresh. The portions are very generous. The carne asada taco was very juicy and delicious. Also had a traditional elote corn, it was amazing! They even put extra corn on the side with it Prices are also great for delicious food. The ice cream is delicious and so was the strawberries and cream desert, with coconut. I've been here a couple of times and will continue coming back. Everything tastes great and the prices are good too! They have a really broad variety of things to try. This has nothing to do with the restaurant itself- but just something to keep in mind-the parking lot for this mall is very very small so you may not always find a spot and end up having to wait a little bit for a space to clear up depending on what time you go. I've been coming to La Pina Loca for three years now, and it just keeps getting better and better. They've added more food to their menu-lunch/dinner items-and they are sooo yummy. One of my favorites is the quesadilla. It really is quite good, the flavor is great, and I will definitely order it again. One of my all time favorites is fresa crema with all the toppings. (Strawberries with creme and coconut, raisins, granola, and walnuts). Make sure you try this scrumptious dessert! The owner, Benjamin, is one of the nicest and sweetest ppl I've met to run an establishment! All of his employees are kind as well-and most are young, but treat you with respect. My friends and I decided to give this place a try and oh my goodness what a Gem. The place has very easy parking for Ann Arbor, as its in a little shopping plaza off of Platt. The space is very clean with a good amount of seating. They had a hand sanitizing station which I really appreciated. The menu is quite extensive, but I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. The favorite thing I ordered was the corn cup. Finally, a legit paleteria/fruiteria in Ann Arbor!!! Raspados, mangonada, champurrado, aguas frescas, fruit cocktails, street corn, Dori locos, and of course, paletas! If you're looking for Mexican desserts/snacks/drinks, get over here right away. Just opened Jan 21, 2019, and I hope they stay here forever. Bright, fun interior, cozy couches, and friendly staff. This seemingly unobtrusive little shop needs more attention than it's currently getting, because, the delights are delicious. They have dozens of flavors of Paleta and i'm usually walking out with 6 of the the strawberry and cream. The mangononada has a sweet and sour taste which will round out that spicy meal you've just had. I've yet to try the elote, but the Mexican street corn is a must. Tamales are about $2 a piece and there's ice cream, snacks and nachos! read more

I absolutely love that we have a place like this in Ann Arbor!! La Piña Loca is as authentic as it gets- we're talking paletas, mangonadas, champurrado, and even queso fresco ice cream (trust me, you'll be happy you tried it)! The prices are great, and the owners are always quick to help out their community. They've had fundraisers in their store with homemade food, and they're currently donating food to healthcare workers during the coronavirus outbreak. It's the kind of business I feel good spending my money at. Had to only give four stars because when it comes to hot food, their menu is totally random every day so you never know what they're actually going to have. I'll be honest, it actually adds to the charm for me, but it's still a little frustrating. Also I had tamales there once (either pork or beef, I can't remember) and they were INCREDIBLE, but that was at least 6 months ago and every time they've had tamales since then it's only been chicken or vegetarian I miss the good tamales! read more

I've been here twice so far. I really want to love it and support a local business. The decor is cute (extra points for the old school Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game) and what I've tried has been good. The tamales are bomb. The problem is that their menu gives no descriptions and teenagers aren't particularly great at explaining things. If they could include descriptions somewhere, I think it would be really helpful for those of us who aren't familiar with the majority of the menu items. You should try a fresonada w/o lime (strawberry sorbet & strawberries w all the chamoy & tajin goodness) or even a mango-fresonada (pictured) which is a combination of the two! this place is truly a hidden gem. I'm never disappointed. read more

We had great treats here and the staff was very friendly! We are not much for spicy stuff so avoided the mangonada, etc. However the ice creams was incredible as were the paletas. The man at the counter helped me out whenI was not sure on my fruit flavor translations, Had blackberry and Mamey and I swear the black berry may be the best frozen thing I have ever eaten. My wife got the lime and strawberry ice cream and said it was wonderful and tasted like creamy real fruit! I can't wait to go back and try more paleta flavors. If you love Mexican snacks, this spot is a must try! I've ordered from here a few times and everything I've tried has been amazing! (Esquites, mangonadas, coctel de fruta, elote and so much more). They aren't cheap with the toppings either. The esquites had all the toppings throughout the cup, not just at the top. The mangonadas had chamoy layered throughout as well. The portion sizes are sizeable as well, the coctel de fruta lasted me 3 days. read more
