Ordered delivery from here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed everything I went with. The donuts, of course, were cute and delicious. They're made from rice flour so they have a a chewy texture which can be slightly polarizing (my aunt and I loved it, my mom did not). I also ordered a 50/50 corn dog (half mozz half sausage) and that was so good. I loved the gooey cheese and having the sausage at the end was a nice change up. It was also pretty good size! Perfectly filling for lunch. Also, ordered the brown sugar bubble tea which could have used a bit more of the syrup (I didn't edit the amount of sweetness) but it was still good. I might try the traditional black milk tea next time. That said, it's a bit on the pricier side for donuts. A lot of that, I'm sure, comes from the specialty flour, but still, I'm not sure it's not a box I would reach for regularly given the price point ($36 for a dozen and $20 for a half dozen is quite steep). Her were two people working but when you order there's a touch screen method along with a card option. I did not see anyone pay with cash. Please note they have a rear entrance which has more parking and there is a front entrance but not sure if parking is allowed. when you enter you will notice a constant flow of people which is a good thing. Doesn't seem to be overcrowded but when you are ordering ramens there is a way to use the stove depending on the crowd of course. Visual aid is provide it at the heating station and mozzarella/hotdog treat comes separately which you have to wait for your number to be called. I would rated it a high three or maybe a 3.5. I feel this is like a one-time thing but it was lacking a wow factor as I was hoping for. As other confirm, there is a minimum of three donuts that is required to purchase. I really wish you can only purchase one cuz not everyone wants three donuts at $10. One thing I would recommend if you do decide to get a bubble drink which is was my first time. It was just ok but we were already pretty full so maybe better for a quick snack stop. There were lots of teen I side and seemed to just there for snacks. We had just had Hot Pinot next door. You have to buy a box of three so we let a group decision drive the choices. Not the greatest plan actually. They do split up into little ball chunks but the flavors were bland. The raspberry was sweet and not very "berry" the churro not very "cinnamon" but the chocolate churro the most realistic. I liked the rice flower dough but some of the others did not. I have not seen one of these shops before so maybe elsewhere it would do better. I'd love to have been able to try one more flavor but you can't buy just one. Sad actually. Is it pricey? Absolutely! Does it have a cool vibe? Absolutely! Are the mochi donuts, phenomenal? Absolutely! But are they worth a couple dollars apiece, absolutely not! I love a good Korean corn dog, and there aren't many options around. The mochi donuts were the best I've had outside of Japan. The staff were very accommodating. They made some great recommendations. My friends and I stopped by Mochinut this past Saturday after lunch because we wanted something sweet. We got the 3 MOCHI DONUTS for 10.00 and we chose Lotus Biscoff, Ube with fruity pebbles and pineapple. The texture of the donuts were a bit stale, but still relatively bouncy. However, the flavors of ube and pineapple weren't good. If you blindfolded me and fed be the ube, I wouldn't know I'm eating ube. The pineapple was way too sweet, so i didn't enjoy it. The Lotus Biscoff was fine, but not exceptional. Overall, nice to see that there's Mochinut in Ann Arbor, but the quality from this past visit was subpar. read more

Updating my thoughts on Mochinut after a few visits. Still love the product, but I wish there was more flexibility in ordering. You can't just order one donut; it has to be an order of 3 minimum. This is often a roadblock in me justifying a small sweet treat. Also sadly their space always looks like a tornado passed through. Tables aren't clean, there's trash all over the floors, and the staff doesn't seem to care much - even if there's a lull in customers. So I'd recommend getting your order to go. I'd give them more like a 3.5 or 3.75 because I am still a #1 fan of the hot Cheetos corn dog - it just isn't worth 5 stars anymore overall. read more

Super tasty and unique doughnuts! Love the fun shape and the texture of the mochi dough is outstanding. Light and fluffy yet chewy. We went in around 8pm (about an hour before close) on a Thursday and they were down to just a few remaining, so selection at that time wasn't the best. However, very happy with what we got. Also tried to get 2 and learned they only sell in quantities of 3, 6, or 12. So ended up getting 3, and there were exactly 3 flavors left so tried one of each. My fave was the Blueberry, followed by Cookies & Cream, then the White Chocolate. Very tasty! Located where qdoba on Plymouth rd used to be. Inside is odd shape if you come from parking lot in back have to walk quite a ways to get to the front counter. The selections of mochinut change when we were there we tried to cookies in cream 1 milk chocolate, 1 strawberry, 1 matcha, 1 chocolate churro, a total of 6 for $18. Definitely not cheap, however they are quite good highly recommend the ones with frosting over sprinkles or sugar. Definitely less oil when compared to a regular doughnut. If you have tried mochi ice cream imagine if the outside of the mochi ice cream was balled into a doughnut that is the texture of the mochi doughnut. My favorite was the Ube bubble tea the flavor was outstanding almost like, I was drinking a halo halo. I was so excited to try after opening! Once the initial crowd died down, we came to check it out. There is plenty of seating and chill music playing. To order, you use the electronic quiosk. We didn't have any interaction with employees. We ordered a 6 pack of donuts ($18), 2 hot dogs, and two drinks. The total came out about $40. At the end of check out, there is an auto-added tip that was a little sneaky, so keep an eye out for that. I got the mango lemonade with popping boba. It was really good, but next time I would probably only do the drink, sans boba because the combo was just way too sweet. Unfortunately you don't get to pick the sweetness level. Pretty good donuts! I love mochi and mochi donuts were light and chewy without feeling heavy. The space is big and modern and bright. Mochinut is a must try if you find yourself on the north side of Ann Arbor. I highly recommend the strawberry and cookies & cream mochi donuts. Original is great too if you like a plain donut. The strawberry lemonade with popping boba is excellent as well. Huge pros with the variety of payment options as you can order online for pickup or delivery, and in person at the register or via touch screen. Cons would be you have to order 3+ donuts which is only a small con in my opinion as they're not too filling. Another small con is their straws don't fit very nicely with their drink lids. Only a problem if you need a straw for boba. The service is quick and they'll send you a text once your orders ready if you provide a phone number. Went the soft opening for mochinut! Have really been counting down the days for this location to open! The indoor design of mochinut is very adorable, has very spacious seating areas and it seems as if they will be getting Photo Booth/zone for customers! Which is always appreciated since it makes the cafe more lively and filled with character! In terms of the mochinut all of them were so fresh, chewy and very great representation of the unique individual flavours. I love the cute packaging box they come in. However I noticed the donuts get squished and loses its shape inside the box during transporting. The corndog was crispy juicy. It's nice they have a self sauce bar that you can customize the sauces to your liking. Most importantly the staffs are very sweet and accommodating, definitely will be back when craving Asian sweets!
