    Super Famoso Burrito

It has been over 6 years since we've been here and it'll likely be several years before we come back. The service was great and the ambiance is always welcoming, but the food was less than stellar. Of all the times I've been here, this was sadly the worst. The chicken in the enchilada and tacos didn't seem to have much seasoning. The only part of the dishes that gave any flavor was the sauce. Was hoping to be blown away like I had been in the past but was let down instead.

La Piñata always greets you with warm, friendly faces. Drinks come fast, and the chips and salsa? Dangerous--they're so good I almost finished them before lunch! My husband had the Chile Relleno with rice and beans--huge portions, very tasty, not too spicy. I had a Tostada loaded with shredded beef, beans, salsa, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. The meat portions are generous--you'll want chips just to scoop it all up! Friendly service, flavorful food, and generous portions--La Piñata never disappoints.

Large, bright restaurant featuring delicious Mexican food. The staff was friendly and professional. We would definitely return.

We came back and ordered the same thing. It was so good. Maybe next time I'll try something new

Left: Spinach pesto veggie Enchilada. Right: Enchilada Verde. Definitely try the spinach if you like veggies! 10/10!

Okay so I've had alot of their food here but I must say their spinach pesto veggie enchiladas as AMAZING! My go to was the salsa verde chicken enchiladas but these spinach ones are definitely top tier and I'm not a huge veggie fan so that says a lot. If you look at my picture the one on the left is the spinach pesto veggie and the one on the right is the salsa verde chicken enchilada. I'm happy they were able to do one of each so I could try it. Per usual always they have great customer service and complimentary endless chips and salsa. Can't wait to come back for more spinach pesto veggie enchiladas!!! 10/10. **Almost forget the inside of the spinach enchilada was corn, zucchini, onions and bell peppers :)

fish sopes ( so bland!), jalapeno popper was decent but same as jack in box prety much

    1. the service was good, the waiters were hardworking running back and forth to cater to our needs at our booked event in the back room. 2 i got a burrito a few years ago here and it was very bland and disappointing and they charged me extra for sour cream, it was such an awful burrito. So for this event i ordered fish sopes, and BOY , it was so BLAND, like how can you ruin mexican food?? the rice was alright, but there wasnt a lot of rice. the soft beans was so so , but the fish and sopes had zero flavor. also my sopa was SO SMALLLl , it was like 4 inches in diameter, and bland.. 3 most of the customers are white people and young people so that is a tell tale sign this food was like a bad chinese restaurant . 4. the front dining area for regular people was very hot during the summer, need ac. 5. the back event room had good ac , however. my main issue is , the food was so very very very bland try hiring some authetnic mexican abuelas and abuelos, or real mexicans to flavor up the food !!

Super Famoso Burrito - Split in half!
    Roshan R.

Service: Very fast! Ambiance: Old school Mexican restaurant vibe! Gets a pretty crowded on weekends. Food: Got the super famouso burrito with marinated chicken. It was pretty flavorful and huge! My wife and I split it and it filled us up. The complimentary chips and salsa were underwhelming. The salsa lacked flavor. The margherita was very underwhelming. Lacked any flavor. But was quite potent.

I had lunch here with my cousin and it was a fantastic experience. My Al pastor taco was great. Salsa great. Service great. The music was rocking Alejandro Fernandez and mariachi classics. In short, I felt like home. I need to come back and try a margarita.

I was scrolling through the menu and I noticed that some of the words were too small to read especially when they're clumped together. When I was trying to order, they were going a bit too fast by not just quickly telling me what to add next, but also added cheese to accumulate the total price of food when I never ordered it. Fast service could be as bad as slow service, because people could feel rushed. I got Al Pastor Bowl and it's really delicious though. I like how all the ingredients were blended together as I keep on eating it. My small issue is that, it wasn't kind of warm enough but not to the point where I have to microwave it. Honestly, I have forgotten what Al pastor is which is why I got it but again, I'll have to look up online what it is. Overall, the food is good but they should slow down a bit when taking customers' orders especially when they're new here. My other suggestion is to replace a menu where all words can be seen easily to read and to space them out.

I was honestly amazed by the new vibe and atmosphere. They've made it into a really nice place to sit down, relax, and enjoy your food. We ordered the grilled chicken tacos with everything and Jarritos, which was a great combo. Both of my kids and I really enjoyed the food! The staff were friendly and the service was great. My only small complaint is that their phone line gets really busy. I was trying to order ahead and had to call several times because it would say the line was busy and hang up. Overall, great experience and a huge improvement from the last time I visited. We'll definitely be back!

Went with the carne asada burrito, as that is normally my go to when assessing a new spot. I thought the flavor was a bit more smoky, chipotle kinda flavor than I was expecting. My palette is more of a San Diego style and I'm not sure what region of Mexico this place is flavor based, but just different to me. Not saying it was bad at all. Place was busy, kinda small, but the service was friendly enough and the prices seemed on point/par. I would consider going back if I'm ever in the mood for the chipotle smoky thing.

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. I recommend. Well done Grill Los Gonzales! Caution, the roasted chilly are experienced high level chilly eaters only.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.
