Carne asada super nachos. Super where? 2/10
    Erica M.

Whoa their quality of food has gone way down. I ordered grilled chicken tacos, they were stone cold and extra greasy. The chicken and tortillas were not even warm, mind you we waited for the food so it should have been at least warm. You can tell the chicken was not fresh, like it had been sitting in grease and reheated over and over and still it was COLD. Also tried their carne asada nachos, they too were not the best. It's too bad because this place has to be good. ( see pictures for reference and ratings).

Iconic colorful truck that jumps out at you on Thornton. Unique thing is Suadero is a constant on the menu and not a special. Suadero is a thin cut of beef from the meat that hangs from the breast bone on a cow. Suadero is noted for having a smooth texture rather than a muscle grain. They cook it right so its really good here though other places do make it a bit better. Carnitas and Asada were good, a bit better than some of the local restaurants but nothing to make it a destination to come here for it. Carnitas done on a griddle and had crispy bits which I like more than the wet version. Order took slightly long, good thing is it meant everything is made to order and no big pile of pre-made meat drying out. Bad news for people in a hurry. Nice thing is they had a bench to sit on for waiting so you won't have to stand the whole time.

I am not big on pork, but when it comes to Al Pastor it's a whole different story. Walking around the neighborhood, my cousin and I spotted this taco truck. Even though we've noticed it in the past, we never stopped to try it. As taco enthusiasts, we finally gave it a try and really enjoyed how flavorful the meat was. My favorite part were the corn tortillas- not too oily and had the perfect crisp. The salsas were watered down, but other than that the tacos were yummy. **Note CASH ONLY/ $2.50 per traditional meat taco

Finally tried this place after driving up and down this street numerous times. A gem! The spicy salsa has a great kick to it. Didn't get to try their green sauce. Their tortillas are grilled with a slight crisp for a crunchier bite. Will definitely go back and try their other menu items.

My favorite place to get tacos in Fremont! The staff is always so friendly whether you're ordering in person or calling in an order. Based on the other Yelp reviews, I tried the suadero meat tacos and OMGGG. My life has been changed forever. I will never look at another taco the same way again. SOOOO good!! If you haven't tried suadero tacos before, DO IT NOW!! 10/10!

    Suadero, Cabeza, Al Pastor Tacos

My first time here. Huarache was very good! Tried their Cabeza & Al Pastor tacos. Very tasty! Especially the Cabeza! Delicious! Would have bought 3 more but scared of my BP shooting up. Also had their Suadero taco but it was a little tough and dry. All in all, a very good experience. I'd come back for Huarache, Cabeza and Al Pastor :)

Ok the address listed is where the truck parks and sleeps. During the days it is consistently doing business on the corner of Thornton Ave/Cabrillo Dr in Fremont. But I have noticed that trucks rarely stay in the same location for very long. Some real estate issues often get them packing. So grab this while you can cuz this is a solid truck. Very attractive truck, very professional paint job with good branding. Best looking truck in this whole area by far. But you can't go on looks alone and this truck happens to pass on the taste test. I've tried several meats. Here's a brief grading thus far: Carne Asada (5*) Well seasoned and browned nicely. Solid stand-by. Carnitas (4*) Tender shreds and they crisp it super nice. Salty though. Al Pastor (3*) Great seasoning but this isn't browned at all, looks steamed. I prefer caramelized edges. Tripas (4*) Decent but I've still yet to find tripas in the suburbs that can match the ones deep in the hood in Oakland. Its a tall order I know, but for the suburbs, 4*. At least they attempt to crisp it. Suadero (2*) They use brisket, so it can come off as chewy. Seems they need to cook it a little longer to make it more tender. I've only had it once, so may be a mishap. May try it again some day. So I've had these meats in tacos and in a Huarache. Tacos ($2-2.50)are solid, awesome corn tortillas with a pronounced corn flavor and texture. Slightly crisped which is money. You can't go wrong with tacos here. A Huarache ($8) is a thicker masa patty and is 3X the size of a taco. It is packed with meat of choice and is a filling meal especially for the price. The kicker is they also throw in some cactus strips (nopales) and lots of grated queso fresco. Think of a huarache, what a deep dish pizza is to regular pizza, but in taco terms. Up your game and tackle one of these bad boys. The dudes are super friendly and the meats are so packed, I feel I am getting a hook up (I'm not). They have 2 umbrella'd tables so there is a dine-in feature that other trucks don't have. Separate yourself from the pack and you'll rise to the top. And from the lines I'm starting to be a part of, looks like they're way on that path.

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. I recommend. Well done Grill Los Gonzales! Caution, the roasted chilly are experienced high level chilly eaters only.

She also has regular street tacos and Tacos Supreme (comes with guac and sour cream). Hefty portions (she doesn't skimp on the guacamole or meat) and all of her prices are listed out. Best part? Call ahead to give your order to Juan and they'll have your order ready. We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.
