Food truck located in a parking lot with a bunch of other food trucks, quite a few other taco trucks so decent competition. These were the cheapest priced streets tacos in the lot, but being cheaper doesn't reflect the quality of the food. These tacos were delicious. La Pinata Takos makes some great street tacos! I had their shrimp taco, and it really hit the spot. The shrimp was delicious --- not too shrimpy and balanced well with the chipotle sauce they put on it. There were the perfect amounts of cilantro, onion, guacamole, lettuce, and cheese. I also really enjoyed the sauce they gave me on the side! (Please excuse my already squeezed lime. ) My husband ordered their American taco and said he quite enjoyed it as well! He especially liked how they charred their meat all the way through. The woman running the window was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. We were wandering around downtown and on the way to do some shopping, I spotted La Piñata Takos. They're bunched together with a group of street cart vendors. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 2:30pm). It's run by a husband and wife combo. Everything is freshly made to order so it'll take a few minutes to get your food. Worth it! They asked if we wanted sauce (mild and spicy options); we picked the spicy one, which was solid. The menu is big: burritos, tacos, quesadillas, combos, fajita plate, tortas, tamales and sopes. Tacos are only $1.50 US each! Talk about a good deal. Horchata ($2.00 US) is also reasonable. - Fish taco ($1.50 US) - cilantro, onion, guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and chipotle sauce. Fish was flaky and tender. - Shrimp taco ($1.50 US) - same toppings. Shrimp were fresh and a good portion. Solid tacos! I'd come back to try their enchiladas. This has been a staple for many years! Started going when they were across from the Ash for a 2 AM taco run after going to shows. And have never stopped! Try to go at least twice a month even though I am nowhere near downtown anymore. The food is just that good and the people who run this place are the sweetest people you could ever wanna meet. My favourite place to go after work. A Burrito w/ Machaca & Pastor is my go to. Its never not made to perfection. Prices are cheap and portions are great. I recently tried their Nachos and got the same meat on top that I do for my Burritos (Machaca: Shredded Beef/Pastor:Marinated Pork) and Oh My God was it heaven. The carne was good, not great in flavor, and a little too much like ground beef because it was diced into teeny tiny pieces. The fish, on the hand, was pretty good. It wasn't battered like the fish takos I am used to, but instead was lightly seasoned and grilled. The confusing part? All of the protein was nestled on something reminding me of Taco Bell tacos - lots of shredded lettuce, some diced tomatoes, and shredded Mexican cheese. $4.75 was marginal to satiate my curiosity. read more

Just a random find as I was looking for lunch on a Friday brought me to Pinata Takos. I honestly didn't want to walk far from my office so I headed over to this "pod". Not much of a pod these days as Big Ass Sandwiches had gone across the river and the other carts here weren't even open. Ordered the Chile Rellenos ($6) and they were very good. I had them Christmas style which means red and green salsa. Good amount of food. Nice friendly service. There were other people waiting for food which is always a good thing. Was looking for a quick healthish pescatarian meal. This food truck filled the bill. We for 4 fish tacos. They were grilled fresh (allow a little extra time) and delicious. The salsa (I asked for hot, but they have mild) was homemade and delicious. Also got a chili relleneno. That wasn't battered and fried like I usually have it. It was cooked with scrambled eggs. I'm not usually a fan of pinto beans, but these were delicious! The whole thing was $20 including a tip of slightly over 20%. How can you go wrong with a large specialty meal for two at that price?! This place is awesome--it has quickly become our new favorite food cart. Everything from their rice and beans to their meats is delicious and fresh. The carne asada is so juicy and tender - even when I (gasp) microwave my leftovers the next day, the meat is still more flavorful than most asada when it's served fresh. (Seriously, I literally microwaved my leftover asada taquilos the next day the first time we ordered from this place and it was the best taco bowl I've had in a long time.) I have a dumb, annoying avocado allergy and they always accommodate my request to not include guacamole on my food items - something that not all restaurants will do. The man taking my order was great! So just for that I want to say 3.5 stars. I ordered 2 sopes and a shrimp taco. Ending up eating one sope and the shrimp off the taco. I did dissect the second sope for the meat as well because it was good carne asada. My issues with both was the yellow cheese. I'm simply against yellow cheese in my Mexican food (exception nachos). So for the sope I removed it from the top only to discover that it was actually the base as well... not beans (no beans on this sope). So I finished the one and tried to eat as much meat from the other. Same with the taco. For those not from south of the border (both Oregon and US border), this is probably a good spot. My favorite is the wet burrito and my girlfriend loves the street tacos. The churros are also amazing.
