    Al pastor street tacos

Food truck located in a parking lot with a bunch of other food trucks, quite a few other taco trucks so decent competition. These were the cheapest priced streets tacos in the lot, but being cheaper doesn't reflect the quality of the food. These tacos were delicious. I definitely recommend checking this spot out.

    Delish carnitas torta & horchata

Best tortas, tacos and horchata! Honestly it's all good and they are open late on weekends. I've been going there over 5 yrs and the couple that own this food cart are the nicest people and always remember my order. I called the other day but had to hang up and the even called back and had my food ready in 5 min! So sweet bomb food and good vibes!!

La Pinata Takos makes some great street tacos! I had their shrimp taco, and it really hit the spot. The shrimp was delicious --- not too shrimpy and balanced well with the chipotle sauce they put on it. There were the perfect amounts of cilantro, onion, guacamole, lettuce, and cheese. I also really enjoyed the sauce they gave me on the side! (Please excuse my already squeezed lime. ) My husband ordered their American taco and said he quite enjoyed it as well! He especially liked how they charred their meat all the way through. The woman running the window was friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. Our food was out quickly, but in enough time that you could tell love/preparation went into it. Definitely one of our top favorite taco carts in the area so far!

We were wandering around downtown and on the way to do some shopping, I spotted La Piñata Takos. They're bunched together with a group of street cart vendors. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 2:30pm). It's run by a husband and wife combo. Everything is freshly made to order so it'll take a few minutes to get your food. Worth it! They asked if we wanted sauce (mild and spicy options); we picked the spicy one, which was solid. The menu is big: burritos, tacos, quesadillas, combos, fajita plate, tortas, tamales and sopes. Tacos are only $1.50 US each! Talk about a good deal. Horchata ($2.00 US) is also reasonable. - Fish taco ($1.50 US) - cilantro, onion, guacamole, tomatoes, sour cream, lettuce, cheese and chipotle sauce. Fish was flaky and tender. - Shrimp taco ($1.50 US) - same toppings. Shrimp were fresh and a good portion. Solid tacos! I'd come back to try their enchiladas. Everything sounded great with super reasonable prices too.

Great little cart in the heart of downtown. They had a little line which caught my eye. Gave em a chance and was not disappointed. Taco salad, perfect mix of ingredients. Would highly recommend for a quick bite or snack.

Bomb street tacos with prices that are a steal! If you're in downtown Portland and are looking for a quick bite that doesn't break your wallet and also fills your stomach, then this is your place! (Haha such a wordy sentence). But forreal the shrimp tacos were phenomenal! Could eat those everyday. 5/5 for me. However, the chicken tacos were pretty good, a 3.5/5. Thus the 4-star rating. But really you guys, go check them out if you're in downtown and hungry!

Nachos w/ Machaca & Pastor (I got extra nacho cheese too) 12/10

My favourite place to go after work. A Burrito w/ Machaca & Pastor is my go to. Its never not made to perfection. Prices are cheap and portions are great. I recently tried their Nachos and got the same meat on top that I do for my Burritos (Machaca: Shredded Beef/Pastor:Marinated Pork) and Oh My God was it heaven. One of my favourite spots in Portland and you need to try it, and you better fucking tip when you are there, the two running it are as polite as it gets.

Literally the best burritos of all the places I've tried in Portland. Their shrimp burritos are amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Fast forward to today when my flight got in early and I saw they were open. Came in around 11ish when many of the food carts looked like they were just starting to prepare food. Found Bing Mi behind the Beer Garden stage. After looking at the menu, I couldn't pass up trying the roast duck. I ordered the loaded roast duck Jiang Bing with mild sauce. I paid with my card, was given a number and took a seat at the communal wooden picnic tables. When I got my food, I could see it was a solid amount. Two Jiang Bing halves. The only thing I didn't really see was the roast duck. Before I get into that though, I just want to say you can tell how much care the people who work here put into their food. If there's a line, they don't rush the process. The crepe outside is perfect and the crispy wonton pieces in the middle are the star of my Jiang Bing. Their cucumbers are fresh. You can taste the sauce. I just would have wanted a little more meat so it wasn't so much crepe and crispiness. I give them a solid 4.5 though. I couldn't finish both halves of my Jiang bing because it's filling. I suggest bringing someone who will want to share food. I may be back to try their handmade dumplings next!

I went with their recommendation and ordered the No. 1 Chicken Shawarma Wrap, and it was fantastic. The shawarma itself was juicy and packed with flavor, and it balanced really nicely against the fresh vegetables and the tanginess from the pickles. The fluffy garlic sauce inside is airy, garlicky, and almost feels whipped, but the pro move is definitely to ask for extra along with some of their house made hot sauce on the side. Everything is wrapped and griddled to toasty perfection, making it an ideal compact grab-and-go lunch, or a great meal to enjoy more leisurely at one of the shaded picnic tables. One thing to note is that the orders do take a bit of time, so it is not the best option if you are in a rush. That said, it is absolutely worth it if you have a little time and patience, so just grab a brew, relax, and enjoy the weather while you wait.

Although it is still new and not all the spaces are filled yet, it seems like it will be a great place to dine there on nice weather days. I had already tried their bingsu food cart. This time I tried the Shawarma House. There are about 3 food carts that serve similar or the same food. I had the triple meat plate. It consisted of lamb, chicken and beef. It came with pita bread and hummus and tzatziki sauce. The sauce that drizzled on top was good but I couldn't quite tell what it was. The lamb meat was by far the best. The chicken and beef was okayed. Hummus and tzatziki serving was large. I wish I had more pita bread so I didn't have to waste the dipping. There was a good amount of rice under the meat. The plate was good overall but there was not enough sauce drizzled on the top. As a result, everything seemed dry.

Both were fantastic! It was very flavorful and well spiced, with the perfect amount of salt and aromatics. The chicken is extremely soft, and the noodles are fresh and properly chewy. The Thai iced tea was very sweet even for my taste, but I still enjoyed it and expect it would be more refreshing if the weather wasn't so cold as it is now. The wait time was maybe 15 minutes, which isn't bad at all, and the cashier was very cheerful and pleasant. The food cart is in the back of a fairly vacant lot, so there's not much to comment on when it comes to ambiance. Overall, it's an excellent choice for takeout that I recommend enthusiastically, and I hope I get to try more of their food next time I'm in the area. :-]

Unfortunately, I came away pretty disappointed. Everything except the pork belly was actually really good. The rice had a good texture and separate grains. The fried egg was crispy and had a nice runny yolk. The cucumbers had a nice thickness and crunch to them (could been colder though). The prik nam pla (fish sauce, chiles, maybe a little lime?) was really great -- something about the flavor really popped for me and was tasty. And everything was served hot and fresh. But the pork belly sucked, and that kinda ruined the dish for me. The fatty parts weren't melt-in-your-mouth at all. They were just chewy. The skin wasn't crispy, it also was chewy. The meaty parts weren't juicy at all, they were tough. I dunno, everything about it seemed wrong. And getting the pork belly right seems like a crucial part of the overall dish. After eating maybe 1/3 of the pieces of pork belly, hoping each time that the bad pieces were just outliers, I gave up and just pushed the rest of them to the side while I ate the rest of the dish. Oh well.

The culinary experience was truly remarkable, and the customer service was exceptional. The restaurant's location is also highly favorable, contributing to its overall appeal. As a Jamaican who grew up in the Miami neighborhood known as "Little Haiti," I have had ample exposure to Haitian cuisine, particularly griot. My childhood memories include saving my allowance to purchase griot from a Haitian lady's house on Fridays, with the assistance of a neighbor who spoke her language. My first taste of griot occurred when I was 11 years old. I felt compelled to share this background information to establish my credentials in assessing the quality of Haitian cuisine.
