I'm a California-raised Chicano who had been living in Columbus for about a year and desperately missed the Mexican food trucks back home. I visited La Poblanita based on a friend's recommendation and was blown away by how authentic it was. Hands down, the best Mexican food truck in Columbus and I'm now a regular. I typically order the Carne Asada burrito, but the taco combo plate with carnitas is also delicious. The rojo and verde salsa are excellent, but my favorite is the verde. The service here is also exemplary; the family that owns and runs the business are very good people and clearly put a lot of love and passion into their food. read more

The food is amazing. It's a clear step or two up in quality and flavor than any other place I've been to locally. Tastes like actual Mexican food and is delicious. You can call ahead and order so you don't have to wait. The service is awesome. She's surprised us with free tamales in addition to our order previously and just seems to be a genuinely nice person. The tacos here are larger than your average "taco truck" taco and they don't skimp on the meat. I had chorizo, chicken, and al pastor. The chicken had no flavor and was a bit dry. The chorizo was a bit mushy, but still decent on flavor. Compared to other taco joints around town, the Al Pastor here was lacking. The Al Pastor is diced into tiny pieces and lacking pineapple (if you're into that), however it wasn't tough or chewy, it was okay. Now the tortillas were overcooked and tough (almost as if they were microwaved too long), they did have that homemade which is a plus. The steak dinner here is absolutely delicious and filled with fresh ingredients. For only $10 you get plenty of food and there was no skimping on the steak. The steak dinner comes with steak (obviously) with potatoes and onions mixed in, on the side: beans, rice, lettuce, pico, avocado, and tortillas (again, tough and overcooked). I would come back for the steak dinner for sure. Parking here is no problem, it definitely was not cramped. There was a nice spacious covered seating area. They do accept credit cards, however they have a sign saying they prefer cash (as card may take longer to process). The address on here is not correct, they have a new location of 4490 Indianola Ave. bright yellow truck outside of the barbershop, across from the marzetti factory. read more

I went on a Saturday and they had a special of 3 tacos for 5 bucks. You can get them traditional or American style which is nice. I got one al pastor, which was pretty good but there are better in town and 2 lengua which were absolutely fantastic. Soft and beefy cow tongue, this is my new go to place for lengua. Also Horchata!!! Not the "from concentrate" stuff either, real, tasty rice drank with flavor you can see. Open the cup to reveal specks of vanilla bean and cinnamon. So tasty I downed it immediately, leaving me no thirst quenching beverage to sip while eating my tacos. The people were very nice and the tacos were ready pretty quickly. read more

One of my absolute favorite places to eat! I typically order Carne Asada tacos with a side of rice and beans. And, I typically get Lengua tacos for my husband, which he loves and says are super tender. Both Mexican-style: just cilantro and onion and a little lime juice. The Horchata (a rice based, creamy, cinnamony drink) is wonderful too. More importantly, the family that runs this taco truck are very kind, professional, incredibly hard working, and on top of their game. The two young men are class acts, and their mother should be very proud. If you want an authentic taco, definitely try this place out. It can get busy so be patient, but it's worth it!! read more

My partner and I don't go out very much, even for fast food. When we do go out to fun spots around Columbus, we rarely go back because there's so many new things to try. La Poblanita is the exception, as their tacos and tamales are so good, they keep us coming back. Their ingredients taste extremely fresh, sauces are fantastic, and service is friendly and prompt. For what it's worth, we recommend chicken, pork, and lengua filled entrees, and make sure to try both green and red salsas. Not listed on the menu is rice and bean sides for a dollar a piece. I consider myself very spoiled to have tons of options when it comes to delicious Mexican food in Columbus, but La Poblanita may be my favorite of the bunch. Everything that I've gotten here as been delicious. The rice is fluffy and fresh and the refried beans have a great smokey flavor. All of the tacos that I've tried have been excellent as well. I feel that many times, chicken tacos can seem boring compared to other options, but La Poblanita's chicken is juicy and very flavorful. The steak, pastor and tongue (its like Barbecoa- just try it!) are some of my favorites. Prices are very fair and service is friendly and fast. read more

This food is seriously yummy and reminds me of Los Guachos--authentic mexican with very fresh ingredients. My only complaint is that their cheese quesadillas are $5.50, which seems like a lot for something you can make in two seconds at home. Other than that, thumbs up. read more

We're from out of town but were visiting my mom in Clintonville. She has raced about this place so we decided to give it a try. Got our order for 3 adults and one toddler to go, not a single thing screwed up, which I find impressive in and of itself! The tacos were awesome, and if you like spicy, make sure you ask for sides of the red and green sauces! So delish! My 2 year old even chowed down on her frijoles taco and side of rice. We'll be back the next time we are in town! Of note, they may not be open until the described 830 time, we were there at 645 or so and they were going to wrap up at 7 or a bit after. read more

Pretty darn good Mexican. The first time I went, I wasn't too impressed. The chicken was good, tho too finely chopped, and the amount of filling in my tacos was rather minimal. Decided to give it another try last night and the chicken was much better. Still chopped but not as fine. I take this to be the traditional Mexican style of protein. But the amount of chicken, onion and cilantro was much better- totally stuffed in tacos. I hope this is the norm. A plus is the nice touch of adding lime wedges. Chipotle has done away with them and I love lime to add balance along with some spice. I'm looking forward to trying burritos and platters here.
