We stumbled upon this location while finding our way around Florence. We were excited to sit down and enjoy a beautiful cheeseboard here due to the fact that they had so many amazing meats and cheeses behind the counter. The staff was knowledgeable on all the different meats and cheeses available and were able to make recommendations based on what you prefer. We ordered a beautiful looking cheeseboard that had a variety of different hard cheeses along with different meats. The presentation was beautiful and we very much enjoyed the entire thing. It is very cool to see the different meat hanging from the ceiling in addition to the wine bottles and the cool ambience that they created in the small location. There are a handful of seats available and then there's even a back room with a few more tables to accommodate a few more people. From a price point perspective, it wasn't too bad, especially if you're swinging in for a snack and a quick glass of wine or a beer.

When researching sandwich places to try in Firenze pretty every one them pointed to All'Antico Vinaio, and indeed it is my far the most popular sandwich spot I saw while in the city. However, I wasn't looking to to try All' during my time here as they opened two locations in NYC and I had already had them last year. That being said, I was looking for other options - and one of my cousins recommended La Prosciutteria. The reviews and pics looked great, so we made plans to stop by for lunch after some morning explorations. Proscuitteria draws you in with the hanging cured meats they have on display in their window. Once inside, we were greeted by more meats and cheeses in their display case, as well as a few tables to sit and enjoy. Aesthetics were casual - wood tones, simple tables, and contemporary music playing throughout the space. While they have multiple locations throughout Italy, the location in Firenze is the original. The menu contains a selection of meats and cheeses, available as boards, sandwiches, and plates. They also have a selection of hot dishes, and a large wine menu. Since we were there for lunch, we decided on sandwiches - I went with the porchetta that was topped with a gorgonzola-based sauce and sun-dried tomatoes. We also decided to split a cheese board because cheese and because Italy. The sandwich was really good - not overly stuff with fresh ingredients. I enjoyed the cheeses as well - I'm a fan of cheese to begin with but they offered a good selection as well as a few complements. Service was good - food came out promptly and overall I had a great experience at La Prosciutteria. While I think it may be overshadowed a bit by the aforementioned spot down the street, this place should not be slept on and I would definitely consider returning next time I'm in Firenze.

Had the porchetta sandwich with burrata. Was on the dryer side and wish the bread was toasted a bit longer. Nice that there's no line though!

The line for Antico down the street was crazy and I needed a sandwich. I had noticed La Prosciutteria in passing a few days earlier and it looked intriguing (I love the boars head above the door!) so I tried it that day. I have also noticed La Prosciutteria's in other Italian cities so they seem pretty established. Their business card lists 10 total locations, mostly in central to North Italy. They are obviously a competitor to Antico and are worth a try. La Prosciutteria call themselves a wine and Prosciutto bar but all I noticed was the many racks of meat hanging from the walls and ceiling. It looks very yummy and I feel like buying one of those hanging racks of meat! They seem to feature the porchetta which is always good on a sandwich. I had the Schiacciata La 2 sandwich for just 9 Euros served on a focaccia roll with a seasoned spread on it. Great food and lots of other choices. I still like the Antico bread better but this place is a great one to try and also have super delicious sandwiches.

Seven hours of walking in Uffizi museum left us super exhausted. Deciding on this restaurant was the best decision made. It was an absolute lifesaver and truly an unexpected highlight of our Florence trip! Its location is perfect, just a short, easy stroll from all the major attractions, including the Uffizi. We began our meal with a fantastic cheese board, offering a delightful variety of cheeses alongside two delicious small portions of jam - a truly great start. However, the highlight was the cheese fondue. We've enjoyed fondue before but what we experienced here was on an entirely different level. The flavor was unbelievably delicious. It was rich, creamy, full of flavor that we'll never forget. To balance the richness, we also savored a fresh burrata salad, which provided the perfect complementary freshness. We started with a simple idea of having few glasses of wine and something to munch, but we ended up enjoying the hot delicious cheese fondue with a whole bottle of wine. The entire experience was terrific!!!. The place seemed like an ordinary place, a very basic setup but its holds the most delicious fondue & incredible wines. The service was also fast, friendly & attentive. For anyone visiting Florence, I cannot recommend their fondue highly enough. it's an absolute must-try!

    Excellent selection of charcuterie!

So much food worth the money. Excellent selection of charcuterie! So glad we stumbled to this place... like a whole in the wall gem.

Great sandwich spot right near Palazzo Vecchio. Meats are cut to order. Bread is great. $7-8 euros for a sandwich.

We loved every minute in Florence, Italy, and La Prosciutteria, while it was a quick stop, was so satisfying. It is the quintessential sandwich shop in Tuscany! Countless tasty breads, plethora of delicious meats - all with a variety of flavors, and more toppings, cheeses and spreads than you can count. This is my kind of stop! We favored quick stops while exploring Florence over a sit-down tablecloth experience and La Prosciutteria is worth a stop!

Every visit we have made to Florence absolutely requires a stop at this spot and this past trip was no exception! It's a small and in the cut spot with locations throughout Italy (but this Florence location in my favorite) with all things delicious and a fantastic wine selection. We got the house wine and I so wish I would've ordered something different because the rose looked really good. We like to keep it simple and order a board for two and the only thing I dont partake in is the pate. My favorite is the blue cheese truffle spread - SO yummy! It's a cute place to grab a bite, a glass of vino and people watch!

Fantastic food! We got the Gourmet board, literally everything on it was delicious. Perfect size for 2 for a dinner meal of charcuterie. We also drank a bottle of the Classic Chianti, which was great. Ambiance was nice for a hangout and place to chill and chat. Not sure it'd word for small kids. Would definitely recommend.

There are many many interesting facts about Florence. They kickstarted the Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci was born just outside of town, gelato was invented there, it is the first paved city in Italy, and Ezio from Assassin's Creed is from there (and if you played the game that shiznet is deadly accurate to the actual city). On top of all that, Florence is the original location of La Prosciutteria, an Italian chain of bars that serve charcuterie and wine. Uffizi what? Duomo what? It's all about the vino. I first encountered the chain in Rome and so when I saw the same name pop up on my Yelp app, it was like reuniting with an old pal. The wife and I ended up having our last sippy sip in Eataly here. Again, since they do not have a license to be a full restaurant, you need to order first and pick up your food and drink from the counter. This time, when I ordered, I told the worker Tomas that I had been to their Trevi Fountain location. He said that they were the original and that he would prove it. I ordered a medium size plate that came jam-packed with a lot of meats, cheeses, and spreads. Being the last night, we ended up drinking two full bottles of Super Tuscan wine. I think as I said goodbye to Tomas, I was a little buzzed and may have sounded like a messed up Super Mario. Mama mia. * La Prosciutteria is located next to the awfully overrated All'antico Vinaio so it's not hard to miss.

Great food and service. Loved the fondue and pork with Gorgonzola sauce and a good wine list too - reasonable prices

La Proscuitteria is located along a street filled with lunch spots very similar. To be honest, a lot of them are overrated - meaning, you do not need to wait in a 30 minute line for great meats, cheeses, and sandwiches. You can stop into La Prosciutteria to have a great lunch. What sets them apart is that they will create custom meat/cheese boards and sandwiches for you based on your tastes that day and what they have fresh. We found a seat and started with a board for two (at a very low cost) and then moved onto a panino to share. The ingredients they used are of the highest quality - this is a must try at lunch or for a mid-afternoon snack.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. The most memorable dish we had was the appetizer we order - fried polenta with mushrooms and chicken liver pate, the polenta fried crispy, the mushrooms creamy and the chicken liver pate so smooth and savory. We also ordered 2 pasta dishes - wild boar sauce pappardelle and spaghetti alla carbonara. So tasty and with depth of flavors. Paired well with the house white wine we ordered as well. On top of the pain of securing a reservation (they only take these over the phone; no online system), the only slot I could secure even as a solo diner was as soon as they opened, at 6pm, and via a bar seat. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by several of the staff, all warm/kind. One of them offered me a table, even though I humbly mentioned I'd be fine with whatever was convenient to them. I looked around and saw what seemed to be majority American tourists so I had very standard expectations. Well, what commenced...my god. I'm getting chills now thinking about the entire experience. Just the absolute perfect dinner my first night in Florence. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and I was even tempted to order 2 Primi (pastas) but my server discouraged it, said they were quite large. Instead she guided towards the "must" appetizer, the "onion flan with pecorino cheese and truffle" followed by their signature pasta, "pappardelle with wild boar ragù" The appetizer literally brought me to tears as soon as I took a bite. I didn't think I liked truffle but this was life-changing. And the pasta was served piping hot and also to die for. I complemented the meal with a delicious glass of white and red and ended with the utterly divine tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this meal for years to come. So epic.

We ate here on our first night in Florence and spent the rest of our trip talking about it. In fact, we came back to Florence a night early from Cortona and tried our luck at getting another table. You might get lucky if you show up right when they open, but Florence seems to get busier every year and I wouldn't count on it. The atmosphere is exactly what you hope for when you picture a fun night in Florence--great music, laughter, conversation, shared tables, excellent wine, and people genuinely enjoying themselves. It's lively without feeling touristy and somehow manages to feel both energetic and intimate at the same time. Our server, Lorenzo, was phenomenal. He helped us select a bottle of 2021 Vigna del Sorbo Chianti Classico, which ended up being my favorite wine of the entire trip. We started with buttered toast and anchovies. It sounds incredibly simple, but it was one of the most memorable bites we had in Italy. We shared the duck ragù pasta, lasagna, osso buco, and lamb chop. Every dish was excellent, but the duck ragù and lamb were standouts. We finished with a raspberry tiramisu that was the perfect ending to the meal. The zucchini flower and saffron pasta was bursting with flavor and the pasta was so perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough! The duck ragu pasta was also hearty, rich, and delicious. The sauce was so good, my family soaked up every last bit with our bread. The ricotta spinach ravioli was also amazing!! Again the sauce was such a standout. The ravioli was so fresh with the perfect amount of bite. The green pepper sauce steak was soooo good. Cooked perfectly, with such a unique sauce that the whole peppercorns added perfectly to in texture and spice. Finally, the raspberry tiramisu. We were so full, but when they set these down our dessert stomachs were ready. They were amazing! Not the strongest raspberry flavor, but still such a delicious end to the meal. Side note, you MUST have a reservation to eat here, and they only take reservations by call. Because I didn't have a way to call them, I asked my Airbnb hosts who did it for me (also amazing people).
