    Torta asada (steak)

The food is fantastic! Their torta asada is fabulous, the service was friendly and quick, and they had plenty of open seating.

Excellent place. Looks odd as supermarket and taqueria are next to each other, but this comes with a convenience...you can get additional products you want on your tacos or dishes and add them right there. Saw a gent add a full fresh avocado to his 3 tacos, nice trick! Tacos are excellent portion size and service is quick and friendly. Good prices too. Place is clean and inviting, on the informal side but plenty of tables and good chats with other customers. Ample plaza parking and quick service. At peak hour noon on weekdays service can get slower but it is still pretty quick. I'll be there often. Make sure they read your order back to you, as I got tripes and carne asada when I ordered barbacoa, but my replacement tacos were still very good. I've been there a few times now.

Hidden gem. Great authentic Mexican "fast food". Ordered the tacos - both Pollo and Chorizo ($2 each) - and they were freshly prepared and tasted fantastic. Unique selection of soft drinks. The table sauces were a great compliment to the tacos. No frills kind of place - which makes for a great lunch spot.

Kentucky Taco Company remains in its own class for tacos but for authentic Mexican tacos these are the best I've ever had. Pastor has come out of nowhere to be my favorite taco meat but this lomo taco is now a legit contender. See you again soon The Rosita. Tacos went up about 20 cents a piece but still cheap and delicious.

Came as a farewell lunch for a co-worker but can honestly say it will not be Farewell for LaRositas. This place is a sit dow restaurant inside of a Mexican grocery store. The flood was fantastic. I watch my co-workers devour the tacos which were some of the best I've ever seen. I personally enjoyed the carnitas burrito. I requested no beans but my request went straight out the window. Even with the beans, this mama-jamma was the best I've had. I will definitely be bringing my wife back to check it out. The grocery side was great too. We do street tacos on our boat a lot and I will be coming back for supplies! Until next time Larosita! Update. Came again for lunch and still great! Probably my new go to for authentic food!!

I love La Rosita so much. This little taqueria inside the market has some of the best tacos I've ever had. They're authentically made and they have a ton of different meat options. I got a chorizo taco and carne asada taco, and my friend got the pastor and chicharron tacos! Both of us loved them and they are SO big for only $2.50 each! The two salsas they had on the sides were also very tasty. I've gone back multiple times since my first time going and am mad it took me this long to discover them!!

Such wow! Louisville has some legit taco places. Up until now my favorites have been taco luchador and el molcajete. But after doing some Yelping, I came across this gem and had to try it out. Price: $2 or $2.50 per taco. This is substantially cheaper than my other 2 aforementioned places. You might think that the difference between $3 and $2 is negligible. But 3 is 150% of 2. VERY substantial, especially if you're like me and eat a minimum of 4 tacos per meal. Food: Excellent. Exactly what I was craving. Hit all the right spots. Maybe the cuts of meat aren't as quality as other places (had some chewy and tendony bites), but I'm not complaining. The flavor was massive. The sauces were great. And they serve lengua. They cook it up right in front of you too so you know they've got nothing to hide. Ambience: in a Mexican grocery store. As authentic as it gets in Louisville. People at counter spoke little to no English. They also serve Mexican Coke. FYI: it's basically counter service. Don't expect to be served complimentary chips and salsa or water.

I rate this fine establishment 4.5 I have read some reviews about "authentic" Mexican food and have not been impressed. Well.. hold on to your ass's and prepare yourself to take a trip to the streets of TJ for mad street tacos. Three sure signs that you know your Mexican food is authentic. 1. There are multiple trucks with ladders parked outside when you approach around lunchtime. 2. Said restaurant is in the middle of a Mexican grocery store. 3. The cashier can barely take your order because of a language barrier. The excitement in me built as I haphazardly placed my order in broken Spanish. Let me say.. I was not disappointed. First off.. the cook is blazing away on the grill right behind the counter... the carne asada comes straight off the grill.. into tortillas and onto your plate. The tacos themselves are huge and filled with all the right complimentary ingredients.. tons of cilantro and onions. The lime wedges are quarter limes... This just keeps getting better and better.. The food came out in less than 5 minutes.. There are two squeeze dispensers filled with chipoltle and green sauce.. and a stone bowl of salsa which was outstanding... an excellent blend of tomato, pepper, spicy and salt.. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys legit Mexican food.

This was another gem I never would've found, heard of or tried if I wouldn't have seen it on yelp. It took me about ten minutes to find (it's in the same parking lot at Koreana behind Popeyes). I got a steak burrito and it was fantastic. Huge and only $4 something. Muy bueno.

Authentic Mexican food! Real tacos with real flavors and no holds barred! I tried to devour this whole restaurant just to get all the flavors inside. Lengua taco! My first one in Louisville! 'Scuse me I'm getting a lil choked up here... okay.... whew! So it was perfect! The meat was tender and the taste is exactly what I was expecting. Cut to the perfect size cubes that I appreciate for my lengua! If you have any qualms about eating lengua... don't. You've likely had more more controversial things in your mouth over the course if your life so this isn't so bad. It's actually a favorite for me and I have been craving it for MONTHS! I went to another location and they didn't have it that day and here I was and my face lit up like a cherub when the sweet lady said "yes" to me... they had it... and I was going to eat it. It came out too hot to hold and scorching to bite into! Fresh Double corn tortillas the way I've had tacos in so cal for most of my life... a generous portion of lengua and topped with cilantro and onion. My sweet hostess presented me with double sauces in red and green much to my delight. Christmas colors and definitely a gift for good behavior. And now the haunting dilemma. Which sauce to use first... red... or green... or both...? If I use the wrong one will something detonate? I squirt the green. Take my first bite of this piping hot taco and YES! I had chosen well. Steam is coming out of my mouth, it's so hot. And delicious!!! Second bite I go red sauce... and I'm plucking amazed! It's a dark red sauce and it's got a fantastic smoky taste to it. I can't describe it but if I told you the ingredients would you know it's flavor? Probably not... you have to try it. It was spicy... smoky, and fantastic. I immediately thought that this should be something this restaurant should bottle and sell if it's not already. And if it is being bottled and sold, it should be a household hot sauce. Children should transition from breast milk to this hot sauce to imbue the rest of their lives with fortitude and chest hair of the furriest kind. The other two tacos are a blur that I consumed in rapid succession; nearly losing a ring finger to my own chomping. My joy of lengua overshadowed all else but it was all good! My destruction included three tacos and a half a torta. I wish I had ordered a carnitas or al pastor torta, but I went with chicken and it was still quite delicious. Sauces were sprayed everywhere in a X-men Wolverine like frenzy... I became a Tasmanian devilish tornado leaving a deep dark void where food used to lay at my table. I'll be back... maybe tomorrow I hope. It's not the finest place I've ever been to, but dude... authentic lengua tacos, yo... Eat with your hands and face if you dare. Watch your fingers.

Authentic Mexican sandwiches, tacos and various other lunch items. Definitely a place for locals

We come all the time with our crews for lunch. Everything is made fresh on the spot. Authentic Mexican Sandwiches and of course tacos for the commercial crowd. Worth the trip, stop by at La Rosita. Some may view it as a hole in the wall, but give it a chance

Preston highway is loaded with some of the best taquerias. They all have something to offer. This spot behind Popeyes is a grocery and taqueria. The grocery has a lot of great Latin items , a meat counter and fruit and vegetables. Use due diligence when buying produce here. Some of it was noticeably around the bend. The taqueria has some great and very inexpensive eats. Be warned, no English was spoken on my visit. If you are into this cuisine as I am you can learn the few phrases to get by. My waitress was very patient with me and I received pretty much what I thought I ordered. Do yourself a huge favor and learn to pronounce this sentence: Quiero dos tacos de lomo con ceballas y cilantro por favor. You will be so glad you did. The lomo is ribeye steak. It is a filet larger than the tortilla folded over. It is seasoned perfectly and comes with a salsa verde and rojo. Learn these simple words and eat your way down Preston highway.

At Webb's you can get your dry goods, but otherwise it's a very pleasant departure from that model. First and foremost, there is the deli counter in back and the lunch patio. They serve both breakfast sandwiches as well as deli sandwiches. If you pick up your breakfast or lunch to-go, they make everything to order and it's always very quick. Deli smoked sausage sandwich? $2. Country fried steak sandwich? $3. Biscuits 69 cents. Hot wings, beans, chili, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, cornbread. Want a can of beer with your lunch? That's $1. Webb's is also reasonably stocked with decent produce, which is great since there is no supermarket in Phoenix Hill. So if you want to pick up a couple of tomatoes or onions or bell peppers, you generally can count on getting them here. Webb's received a federal grant to provide equipment and support to carrying healthy items as part of the city's "Healthy in a Hurry" program, and this is the result. (The last time I looked in the produce section, they did have a bunch of girl scout cookies stuffed in there as well, but hey, you need to wash down that lettuce with something, no?)

So its a basic market, nothing fancy, selling everything from dish soap to chicken broth, but in…read morethe back they have a counter for plate lunches and sandwiches. For TWO DOLLARS (yes kids, not a typo) you can get yourself lunch. You will want to pony up an extra dollar though, for cheese (50 cents) and "dressing" i.e. lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc (50 cents). Still, even with chips and a drink, that's a five buck lunch. And where can you get that kind of a deal anymore?? I got a turkey sandwich, with american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mustard on wheat bread. And I'll tell ya, its nothing sophisticated but it was pretty darn good. I would definitely come back - they had fried chicken and fried cod that looked delicious! Oh one other thing - Webb's does accept credit cards, but you need to have at least a ten dollar purchase, otherwise they add 25 cents onto your bill. Maybe you care about that, maybe not. Just thought I would put it out there.
