Another one of those places I have been eating at for years but never reviewed. This is a gas station taco joint (the lease space from the gas station). They are friendly people making good food. They cater to the working crowd, so service is quick and efficient! They make homemade style street tacos and they know what they are doing. This is the second time I've been here, and decided to take a friend here because we were nearby. When we entered the gas station, there were already a lot of people waiting for food. There's limited seating so everyone was mainly standing around or sitting in their car waiting for the order. He ended up ordering two carne asada tacos, but I wanted to try something different this time. I ended up ordering 1 of each Champinojes (Mushrooms), Pastor-Queso, Rajas con Queso (peppers and cheese) taco. Both of us ended up waiting nearly 15-20 minutes for our order. From my last experience here, this seems like a normal wait time because it's always packed. Since there was nowhere to sit, we ended up getting takeout and coming back to our own places. My friend indicated that he really enjoyed his meal. I definitely appreciated the cilantro, onions, and radishes in the foil pack. The sauce was delicious and had the right amount of spice as well. I really enjoyed the Pastor-Queso taco. The pastor was really well complemented, and I wished I had bought more. The Champinones tacos was alright, nothing special. Our favorites so far is the Buche (pork stomach), Chicharon (pork skin) and Al Pastor (pork). I did not care for the Maciza . I will skip that next time. Pricing per taco was good. Great gas station tacos. There's almost nowhere to sit. A good snack or dinner to go, and good selection of menu items as well. Not the cheapest tacos around, $2/taco for standard street taco double corn tortilla size. I ordered 5 tacos: Faji-Queso, Al Pastor, 2x Lengua, Surtida. The first 2 were my favorite, but none were bad. If you have a preference for street taco meats then follow that preference. I would give 5 stars if there was somewhere to sit. Lately, I've been obsessed with Taquerias and finding the best street tacos and tamales. This place served some really great street tacos... unfortunately, no tamales were found at the scene. This spot is located in a convenient store and, at first, may seem a bit odd. However, outside of the Quickie Mart feel it's definitely doable. I ordered 4 tacos (listed from least fav to best): Tinga de Pollo (Seasoned Chicken Breast), Al Pastor (Seasoned Pork), Asada-Fajitas (Beef Skirt), and the Carnitas (Sweet Seasoned Pork). 2/4 ain't bad. The one thing I disliked was the fact that they charged an extra $0.35 per flour tortilla and $0.25 for using a credit card. ‍ All and all, I enjoyed the experience for what it was worth. After being away from Texas for over a week, I was craving some tacos. I stumbled upon the reviews here and it was close by so I decided to check it out. The place can be intimidating for some as it's in a gas station that is not marked with any signage noting there is a taqueria inside. Though it's a small kitchen, the menu is quite expansive and they are pretty quick at turning out your order. The food was delicious, probably one of the best I've had in Dallas. My only angst is that they don't give you a sampling of all their salsa. The salsa rojo which it came with was flavorful and spicy. I would've loved to have tried the salsa verde but I assumed both were given and didn't notice till I got home. Service was very curt. It appears most of them would prefer to speak in Spanish but sadly my Spanish is not up to par. I'd give this place a 4.5 if I could but I can't manage a 5 given they appear stingy on the salsa and they aren't the friendliest. But taste wise, definitely amazing tacos! read more

I rarely come across a place that really warrants a full five stars but damnnnn! This place is inside a small gas station, next to a Taco Bueno, and there's no sign or anything distinguishing there is a taqueria inside. Walk in and to the left is where you'll find it. The menu is pretty extensive for such a small kitchen area but I've never had anything here that I didn't like. The veggies and salsa always taste fresh, and the meats do too. This time around I got an al pastor taco, suaqueso (suadero with cheese!) taco, and a cachete (beef cheeks) quesadilla - all with corn tortillas. E got a chorizo taco, chilango taco, and an asada taco - all on flour tortillas. The food was ready pretty quickly and was very warm, had to wait a minute for it to cool down. The amount of veggies they give you with your order is awesome. Plenty of grilled onions for me to add into my delicious tacos, and big fat lime slices to squeeze onto them too. The orange salsa (I neglected to find out what kind) is spicy and just right; the salsa verde isn't as spicy but also adds a great layer to the flavor combo. We took a mini road trip from Bedford all the way here, if that tells you anything at all. FYI there's no dine-in space, so we just get our food and find a nice shady/scenic place somewhere to sit and enjoy. Highly recommend, and will definitely be back many times, haha! read more

Took a flyer on this place given the reviews on Yelp. It didn't disappoint. Had the cabeza tacos, lengua and tripa fritas. All were excellent! A little further out of our way than our other go to taco place, La Paloma, but well worth the drive. We got lucky and scored two bar stools at the counter, but like others have said, very little counter space. Having grown up on a farm down in South Texas, my family made these same tacos from scratch, from meat raised on our farm. These tacos brought back great memories and were truly authentic. Been here multiple times. It is one of our most favorite taco places. It is in a suspicious looking gas station. But no worries, grab your valuables, lock your car, and walk in the store. The store is nice and clean. You will see the restaurant because there will be a long line of customers. There is a couple of small 2 seat tables and a long bar table that is able to fit about 10 people. We have ordered all kinds of food here and you will not regret any of them. Barbacoa Gringa - 5* greasy cheesy barbacoa...yummm quesadillas - 4* tacos - 5* We have ate the above with chicken, steak, al pastor, barbacoa, lengua, etc. They are all amazing. First time here today. We ordered 6 asada tacos and 3 chicken. For extras we had pico and grilled onions. Definitely top 3 we've had so far in DFW. The meat was seasoned perfectly, and the tortilla had a slight crisp that made the tacos so much better. They had the sauces ranging from mild to extra hot. They were thick sauces with lots of flavor. Thank you for thicker sauces, there's nothing worst than watery sauces. If the customer service was more welcoming it would be 5 stars for sure. A run down gas station that offers some delicious tacos! taking my food to go would have made more sense, but I ended up eating on the little strip of counter they had. The sliced league strips was great, but the back strip of lengua is way better by ten fold. It was like the tenderloin of the tongue! Soft with full of beef flavor. The pastor here is pure pleasure. Marinaded with charisma, plenty of fat to coat the tongue, and some charred edges for the delectable maillard reaction. The chuleta was like the criminally ignored hot cousin of the celebrity we know as pastor. The pork chop flavor is so seductive, it brings me back after every porky bite. The blood sausage was like a gamey chorizo that offered a good mix between a game and pork taste. The cachete was like barbacoa, but not as greasy. Definitely more about structure than fat. By no means was this in anyway dry. It's just the most way to describe the texture. The jalapeño sauce was like puréed chutney chunks that felt as fresh as can be. The avocado was t boning with flavor, but it was quite cooling. The red sauce offered a hot tangy tap on the tongue than any type of roaring heat. They have so many different options, but everything I've tried has been great. Only one I didnt love was the chicharron which was just a bit too fatty for me. My oh my. This place is absolutely amazing. So the place is inside a gas station, which can be intimidating to some, but trust me GO! They have very little seating so keep that in mind when choosing to eat there or take out. The price of the tacos is so fair to be in the US. It's difficult to find a place that has delicious fair priced tacos. The suadero, pastor, cabeza, and cachete tacos are to die for. They are juicy and taste like you're in Mexico. I made the mistake of ordering them the first time in corn tortillas. Corn tortillas in the US tend to be factory made and just aren't good, therefore ever since then I get them on flour. The tacos are mouthwatering and they have such a variety of items that are hard to find here (like flor de calabaza quesadillas). This place is located inside the gas station in front of El Rancho supermarket. There are about 4-6 places to sit down maybe, so we took ours to go. I had the cabeza tacos (meat only and cheek meat). The cheek meat tacos were pretty good. I've never had this type of meat before and it was a bit slimy or chewy like lengua. The cabeza (meat only) was very good and they got devoured quickly. Their red salsa provided was pretty spicy and tasty as well. They have a lot of items on their menu that I have never heard of, so I will be returning to try more of this mystery food.
