Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked on us throughout the meal without being intrusive. The chips and salsa were also a hit. The chips were thick and crispy, and the salsa was fresh with just the right amount of kick. I ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, which were served with Mexican orange rice, refried beans, and warm, tasty flour tortillas. The portion was big, filling, and delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. Overall, this was an excellent meal with satisfying portions. It's official my favorite Campechana in SD is here now. A bit pricey, yes but worth it, it can feed 2 people that's how much they give you & the broth of it is amazing & yes I finished it by myself because I'm a Big Back. Food here for the most part is flavorful & good, portions are good on some items & some are ok. Like the tacos I wish they were a bit bigger & yes they can be a bit pricey here but good. Fish & shrimp Chiveche very flavorful as was the 7 Mares. And they have very good Chips & Salsa. Shrimp Fajitas were a big hit too. Shrimp Enchiladas plate good but for the portion a bit pricey. Customer service was great, right when you walk in they attend you, place is clean & has a good vibe, they have in & outside sitting. They make good Micheladas too. Like I said some items can be a bit pricey but portions are pretty good on some of those items & food is good. So yes I would come back especially for that Campechana, they have a fan in me. This was our first time dining at La Sinaloense Mexican Seafood Restaurant in Chula Vista, CA. The restaurant opened five years ago in the middle of the pandemic. As soon as we walked in, the servers were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant has beautiful Mexican pottery with plants and ceramic plates as decor. We tried the following dishes: *Molcajete Cielo, Mar y Tierra. Plate comes with rice and refried beans. The dish for some reason did not come in the hot stone "molcajete" like in the picture. My dad was looking forward to that presentation and was a bit disappointed but said he really enjoyed the chicken, steak and shrimp. The shrimp comes in a delicious creamy chipotle sauce. *Mojarra Frita Al Mojo De Ajo: Fried Tilapia in garlic butter sauce. The plate also came with rice and refried beans. *Fried Fish taco *Fried shrimp taco *Kids quesadilla plate *Michelada beer All of the dishes were delicious and good portion sizes. They gave us a taste of their homemade menudo in red sauce. The meat was very tender with a nice tasting broth. I'm definitely coming back for that soup and also try their breakfast menu. We have visited this restaurant a few times in the past and always had a great experience, which is why I confidently recommended it to my family. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and extremely disappointing. Our waitress, Yesenia, provided very poor customer service from the beginning. She was rude, inattentive, and made us feel unwelcome. Some guests requested water and never received it. Our food did not come out at the same time, and several dishes were cold when served. I also specifically ordered hard shell tacos and instead received soft tacos. One thing we did enjoy was the shrimp cocktail, which was delicious. However, two people ordered it at the beginning of the meal, and only one received it on time. The other person did not receive their shrimp cocktail until about 15 minutes after everyone else had already received and started eating their meals. That delay made the dining experience even more frustrating. What made the situation even more upsetting was how mistakes were handled. One of my friends mentioned to Yesenia in Spanish that the service had not been good, but there was no apology or attempt to improve the situation. Later, while packing up uneaten food to-go, she dropped the food all over the floor and did not apologize or offer to replace it. I also spoke directly with the manager about our concerns. At first, he did not seem to understand me, even when I spoke in Spanish. Eventually he understood, but unfortunately there was still no apology, concern, or effort made to correct the situation. To make matters worse, our bill was approximately $172, and a tip of $24 was added despite the extremely poor service we received. It was embarrassing to bring my family to a restaurant I had spoken so highly about, only to have such a terrible experience. My favorite restaurant for Mexican seafood in SD (the meat is also great, I just don't eat much anymore). I love their fish platters (the Veracruz is my favorite), tostada de pescado, and aguachile. They also make a great shrimp with chipotle crema burrito, which is perfect when you just want comfort food. My husband and friends love the meat molcajete.The portions are huge - the plates definitely feed two people, so be prepared when you order. They have a lot of seating and a nicely-sized parking lot, making it very convenient to stop by. I like to sit outside since the music is always very loud, but sitting inside looks fun. The staff have always been really nice about lowering the volume on the patio when asked. Lastly, the staff genuinely cares about their community and is a great place to support. I couldn't have asked for a better dish. & honestly, wished our experience was better so I could continue to support this local business. THE DOWNFALL - To begin, again, the music... Couldn't even hear my own thoughts. When the waiter was asking for my order I told her, "I can't hear you." She had the NASTIEST attitude & it showed. It was an older blondish curly haired lady. Not my goddamn fault you guys have everything on volume 100. She proceeded to point to her electronic ordering system while rolling her eyes. I literally ordered it on the system myself. When we went in, we asked if the bill could be split PRIOR to ordering anything & they said YES. Cool, easier for everyone. After they were so unorganized & obviously did NOT know how to handle a large party, they got orders confused & ended up putting everything on ONE bill. They proceeded to later tell us we could not pay separately making it even more complicated when they already seemed to be flustered. Keep in mind, this was AFTER they told us we could split the bill by parties. While looking at the receipt, there were items that no one ordered being charged. We spent 30mins trying to figure out the bill. Had they done what they originally said they were, it would've been a breeze. They ended up willing to split everyone's bill per party, therefore making things even WORSE. Because they did not know who ordered what. My husband & I shared the steak platter, a jamiaca, & two micheladas. Our bill came out to no more than $70. We were first in line to pay; my husband gave them cash & they did not tender any change. IT IS NOT UP TO YOU TO DECIDE HOW MUCH WE WANT TO TIP BY KEEPING OUR CHANGE. If they were concerned about tip, they should have their own policies about large parties, gratuities, & enforcing split bills. My husband didn't say anything & I was outside because everything was giving me a headache. Had I been inside I would've asked for it back myself. But my husband let it go. Whatever, if they need it more than us. Lol. That's why you get paid hourly & it's not a requirement to tip. Although we always do, even if service is SHITTY. But again, not up to a waiter to decide. If you don't like your job or rely solely on tips, find a different job paying more! Once we paid, we stood outside in the parking lot waiting for the rest of our party. I'm not sure what happened after we went outside since we were the first to pay - but the other black-haired waitress, also older shouted profanities outside to us while inside the restaurant & we were standing in parking lot. Couldn't hear her clearly to make out what she said. Loved the food but not somewhere I'd be willing to spend money at after the horrible experience.
