FINALLY!!! We moved to Fairfield 3 years ago. Being Italian it is hard to find a place for me that meets the expectations of what a true Italian food should taste like. I've seen the sign when driving by a few times. Decided tonight to give it a try... I wish I did it sooner. Perfecto! The ambience and decor is very old school Italian restaurant. The wait staff is dressed as such. The dress code is casual (in case you are wondering). Let's get to the staff. They are VERY attentive. The was never a miss with them. Our server checked on us so often. It was nice. I wish I knew her name because she needs recognition! She was AMAZING! My Arnold Palmer was never empty. The support staff made sure our waters were the same way. The ONLY hang up is that bread refills were $3 (something we didn't know). It might be on the menu somewhere. We don't blame them for that but it's good to be advised. The food came out really quick as well and piping hot. Now let's get to the food that is just perfection. There is no kids menus but the portions are so big that the little ones can share off of you. We got our little guy a cheese pizza. I had a slice and it is really good. My son is normally picky but he was not with this pizza. We also had the bruschetta (I should have taken a picture... my fault). They make it on their sourdough. It was a nice twist. My wife and I ordered both fettuccine. She ordered the Alfredo and I ordered the La Strada (both of us added Italian Sausage). The kitchen was moving! It came out hot and perfectly on time after we finished our bruschetta. It was creamy with so much flavor. Even our 3 year old wanted some (good thing the portions are big). We loved it but we wanted room for dessert. Our server boxed it up our food. We ordered the crepes and spumoni. The crepes were so good! At the end of everything was done. My wife and I agreed. Was looking for a small intimate place to celebrate our dad's 80th birthday in American Canyon. We've never eaten here but it's located in American Canyon on your way to Napa. I visited a week before to check out the restaurant and inquired in their private dining room that fits about 12 people. I made a reservation for 10 people for a Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. No deposit or anything required and they said we can decorate the room. I just brought balloons and a cake, and cut it myself. The food and service were great! We didn't have to wait long, we were seated next to the bar which got kind of loud but wasn't an issue. We got 2 samplers that came with calamari, bruschetta, and caprese mozzarella. We get complimentary bread and my dad wanted garlic bread. I ordered the crab ravioli which was so thick and with shredded pieces of real crab, so good! Items ordered were lasagna di carne, eggplant Parmesan, tortellini, seafood pasta, chicken fettuccine Alfredo. They don't have a kids menu but recommend ordering side orders of things so we got my nephews spaghetti noodles and one meatball and a sausage. They ate all their noodles. And we even ordered a ton of desserts- key lime cheesecake, chocolate cake, crème brûlée, and an affogato. 20% gratuity it was added and our bill for 10 people came out to a little over $500 which I would say was a pretty good price for our large group and we all were very full. After a long day at work, laziness kicked in and the idea of fast food just wasn't appealing. So my husband and I headed over to La Strada. This isn't our first visit. In fact, we probably dine here every other month or so, so we're pretty familiar with the menu. One thing we always appreciate is their fried calamari -- exactly the style we like: lightly breaded, a mix of rings and tentacles, and always fried tender. Then there's the bread. Danger disclaimer. You can easily fill up before your meal if you have zero restraint. The seasoned dipping oil is delicious, and my husband has a ritual where he scoops up the oil with the garlic and spices, spreads it onto the bread, and lets it soak in for a bit before eating it. He insists it enhances the flavor even more. Whatever you say, love. We did listen to the evening specials, but my husband couldn't resist his usual ribeye, medium rare, while I defaulted to my go-to salmon piccata. Both dishes were well executed, flavorful, and generous in portion. Each entrée came with polenta and vegetables. I'm personally not a big polenta fan, but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it. I do wish there were options like garlic mashed potatoes or even pasta, but it wasn't a dealbreaker -- it just meant more polenta for him. To finish the evening, we ordered affogato and spumoni, both of which hit our sweet spot perfectly. Service at La Strada has always met our expectations, and tonight was no exception. Went for our 4 year anniversary and since we've been watching The Godfather trilogy we were both craving Italian. What a beautiful experience this establishment was, wasn't packed and service was quick, friendly and very informative on the specials. We started with the Sampler. Calamari, caprese and bruschetta. Those three alone were delicious I chose the Crab Ravioli, my partner chose the veal masala. The ravioli was creamy, good chose in crab meat and delicious, I should have saved some of the bread for the sauce. Her veal had a slight brown sugar sweetness to it I almost second guessed my order but both options were DEVINE. We recently had a party at La Strada, and I just want to say thank you for the incredible service provided to our entire group. Everything that was served looked amazing and tasted even better. The pastas and meats came out steaming hot, fresh, and full of flavor! One of my favorite items was the bruschetta -- it had a slight kick to it that made it even more delicious. I love bruschetta and often make it at home with Trader Joe's products, but theirs truly stood out. The crème brûlée was absolutely delicious -- not overly sweet, with the perfect caramelized crisp on top. Truly one of the best I've had. The atmosphere was beautiful as well. They currently have a huge Christmas tree shaped like an ornament in the center of the dining room, and it brings such a warm, festive touch to the space. Service throughout the evening was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and well-coordinated. Highly recommend La Strada for anyone looking for great food, beautiful ambiance, and outstanding service! read more

Ate food here and also got food to go and had bad impressions for both options. I dined in with a group of four and the first thing I noticed was a foul smell, like old carpet and cleaning spray. I ordered the veal cannoli which was overly heavy and greasy. The three others I dined with had an artichoke fettuccine which seemed enjoyable, halibut, which was decent, and a vegan veggie pasta without oil. The veggies in the vegan pasta were like the grocery store veggie frozen bag. We also got the crepe for dessert, which was okay but the flavor of the berry compote was a bit off. For the food that we got to go, we ordered wings, garlic cheese fries, calamari, and pizza di carne. Nothing stood out and we had critiques for all. Fries were frozen crinkle cut and didn't have any garlic or cheese Calamari was dry and a bit stale and fishy Pizza was also like a frozen pizza Wings did not have much flavor I enjoyed the complimentary bread the most, which should tell you enough about the restaurant. The food is not fresh and the food is very pricey. I've gone to the San Pablo location and the food was better, so I don't understand why there's a drastic difference. We haven't been here in years and finally went back last night with friends. It was outstanding. Better than ever! We always loved La Strada because it was old school simple Italian. It's still old school in the vibe but the menus has really stepped up. It has a broader array of all the Italian classics. And everything was spectacular. Our server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the lasagna and my husband ordered the steak. It was okay but I've had better of these exact entrees elsewhere. The inside of the restaurant has a quiet vibe and it isn't very bright inside. A very nice ambiance to have a date night. We threw a graduation party at La Strada and it was the best decision ever! It was a party of 50 people and we were seated outside. This allowed us to have karaoke and space to mingle with one another. This allowed us to not worry about cooking or cleaning but truly be in the present moment with family as we celebrate. The service was top tier, they took care of every single guest. The servers and waiters were very caring and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! The pricing was very reasonable. La Strada is straight from the vine, an imaginative palate might say. A delightful little joint off the beaten path. After several flights and a stiff hotel bed-it was time to indulge! Wandering in to a feverishly scented atmosphere-a royal smile from Orelia invited me in. The wine was red, that's about the extent of my wine knowledge...but Orelia lead me down a fruitful path with my request for depth and velvet. How this Goddess pairs wines with food to a none the all (opposite of know it all) whilst simultaneously carrying the weight of an entire restaurant is beyond me. Literally the person you NEED when the planes going down. The human you run to when the boats taking on water. Saw this place pop up on Facebook and we'd been looking for an old school Italian place. It far exceeded our expectations! Everything from the main course to the desserts were perfection. Many restaurants tend to be overly seasoned and sauced, but everything was exactly right. And restaurants tend to taste like restaurants but the vision is had was someone's Italian grandmother back in the kitchen. We live in Vacaville, but that won't keep us from coming back. Felt like we were in a restaurant in the 60's and old Sinatra songs in the background just added to the ambiance. Don't skip putting this on your list of restaurants to try. read more

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but my experience here was truly disappointing. 1. Customer Service I made a reservation over the phone and was informed there might be a slight wait, that we might end up being seated between 8-8:30pm but that complimentary champagne would be provided. Our reservation was at 8:00 PM, yet we ended up waiting over an hour to be seated--without any champagne in sight. 2. The Food & Wait Time The service was painfully slow. After finally ordering, it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the quality didn't make up for the wait. * The garlic fries were cold and dense in the middle--clearly frozen. * The garlic bread was burnt. * The stuffed pork chop was underwhelming. * To make matters worse, my husband's pork chop plate was served a full 25 minutes before mine, so he had to start eating without me. 3. No Dessert, No Patience By the time we finished our entrées, it was already 10:30 PM. We decided to skip dessert because we didn't want to endure another long wait. 4. Cleanliness Issues To top it all off, two out of the four forks at our table had food residue on them. Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. We were greeted warmly when we walked in, only waited a minute the table to be ready. Our server told us the specials for the day & gave us a minute to decide. Drinks: San Francisco Sunset & Blue Moon beer Appetizers: Pizza Margherita & Bruschetta Entrees: Crab Louie (shared by 2), Lasagna de carne, Linguine w/clams & mussels Everything arrived piping hot and delicious. For the linguine that I ordered, I think next time I would just request for clams only, the mussels had a slight grittiness & "ocean taste" more than my liking (if that makes any sense. La Strada in American Canyon is such a great place to go. It's nice enough for celebrations but casual enough just for dinner on a night out. I love the chicken Cordon Bleu and I always get that unless they have the Osso Buco. It is a special and then I get that because it also is bomb. The atmosphere is lively and the service is impeccable. If you haven't been here, you should go. Don't confuse this with La Strada in San Pablo. We had an early dinner on Thursday. Typical Italian interior. We were seated immediately and served water, bread, and seasoned olive oil. The bread was delicious! So good we asked for more. We split a crab Louie salad. The lettuce was crisp and cold; refreshing when it's 96 degrees outside. Next, our seafood entrees with a glass of red wine. When I'm in town, I come here because you just cannot get a bad meal. There is an actual personal owner that makes sure that all of the food and Services just right. The guy's name is Adrian and he really takes his business seriously. If you are in the area or within 50 miles of here, it is worth the drive to try the food and the drinks. The bar serves great drinks and the food is always solid. The pricing is incredibly reasonable for this level of food. If you order any of the Italian classics, you cannot go wrong. Right when you walk in, you cannot ignore the ambience of calmness and Italianess if that is a word. My favorite dish that I've discovered here is the calamari steak dinner. Make sure you have them add the capers, it makes all the difference. read more

We just got done with dining at this retro yet authentic Italian restaurant in American Canyon and as was previously experienced, we weren't a bit disappointed! This place has a warm ambiance complete with white tablecloths and napkins but the food is what you came here for in the first place. We ordered Linguine with clams and mussels but in my own version of the sauce, the aurora sauce while my partner ordered Veal Cannelloni and both were superb in taste and a treat to your tastebuds! We are from Sacramento but went to Napa for valentines weekend. It was our first time at La Strada and they were packed! We got a quiet little table in the corner and the food was delicious. The food portions were generous and tasty, service was friendly, and the free bread they give you is extremely quality. They give you a french bread and a focaccia. If you want a no BS Italian food that tastes good and reasonably priced. La Strada is the place to go. The lamb ossobuco is a must if they have this on the weekend. It's very tender and tasty. My husband absolutely loves this dish. You won't be disappointed. I have tried the chicken Marsala the most and also the seafood linguine. Both were very tasty. The beef carpaccio is a must try as well. Service is always fantastic. There's immediate complimentary bread service and the dipping oil is wonderful.
