I am submitting this complaint regarding an unprofessional and unacceptable customer service experience I had with Bag O' Crab in Vallejo, California. On 4/14/26 at 6:45pm I placed an order with this establishment. After receiving my food, I encountered an issue with my order. I called the restaurant to address the problem and seek a resolution. When my call was answered, the employee did not initially identify herself. I had to ask for her name, at which point she stated her name was Jasmine. I found it unprofessional that she did not provide a basic introduction when answering the phone. I then requested to speak with a manager regarding my complaint. Jasmine refused to provide the manager's name when I asked, which immediately raised concerns about transparency and accountability. After insisting, I was eventually transferred to the manager. Once the Manager came to the phone his introduction was bag o crab, I asked for his name. The manager refused to provide his name when asked. For appropriate customer service and documentation purposes I needed to know who I was speaking with but he continued to refuse. Shortly after I requested his name again, the manager rudely refused and hung up on me.This behavior was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. At no point was I provided with assistance, or any effort to resolve the issue with my order. This experience demonstrated a complete lack of customer service, accountability, and professionalism. Refusing to identify oneself as a manager and hanging up on a customer attempting to resolve an issue is unacceptable. My order was horrific. I would like to submit a complaint regarding the service I received at your store. One of your female employees was rude to me and rolled her eyes at me. I understand that we made a mistake because we accidentally took food that was not ours. However, I politely offered to pay for the food. She took the food back and told us, "Next time, don't touch the robot or the food." She then walked away and rolled her eyes at me. We were happy to visit your store and were looking forward to having a good time, but unfortunately, the employee's attitude completely ruined our mood and experience. I understand that mistakes happen, but I believe customers should still be treated with courtesy and respect. Their kitchen has changed cooks. It's pretty apparent from the taste of the seasonings in the boils. Thankful for Hazel, the food quality person. She was very attentive and made sure that the kitchen got our order right and the seasoning fixed. I truly appreciate her willingness to make it right. We had the combo # 1 with mussels and head off shrimp. I like mixing the garlic butte with the lemon pepper. Add a side of steamed rice and you've got the perfect combo. Filling and flavorful. For the first time we tried their Cajun fries. Delicious! Hot! Fresh! And half off during happy hour. Our waitress was great as well. Cool vibes. I really like this place! We usually order 2 pounds of the shrimp (head on). The shrimp with the head is a lot larger than the ones without the head. The combos are reasonably priced as well. The garlic noodles is a good option for kids. I typically get the atomic sauce, mild. The mild option still has a kick to it though, just FYI. They also have good cocktails, but be prepared to pay almost $20 for one. The service is pretty quick because they have a mechanical robot serving the food along with your regular server and waitstaff. What I like about this restaurant are the huge TVs everywhere so it's a great place to watch your favorite sports game, enjoy a cocktail, and eat your seafood boil. PRO TIP: buy extra sauce and freeze it and whenever shrimp goes on sale at the grocery store VIOLA!! You got yourself a fast "home cooked" meal! read more

The butter garlic combo 2 wasn't what I expected at all it had a little spice but you can tell the difference between fresh and frozen seafood. The chowder was terrible I can't describe it at all. No chowder I am use too. The food was delivered by the robot in the pic. The waitress Singh provided us with good service for in helping the robot. The two young ladies with lashes working as hostess were not welcoming and friendly at all. As soon as my family and I came in, they rolled their eyes at us and sighed, handed us a tablet to put in our information. As soon as we got seated it took over 20 minutes for a server to attend us. Someone eventually came, got our order wrong and was not able to correct it due to it being 9:30pm at this point. We got handed out receipt as soon as our food came out and was constantly reminded by the server to close the tab. Our crab was cold, sauce was too thick and salty. The Louisiana sauce is bomb ! This is the second time I've ever done any type of seafood boil and I am now a seafood boil lover. My"10 years ago I tried it out and didn't like it. But now I'm a believer ! Plenty of parking nearby. My friend ordered all the items as she's an avid seafood lover from Mississippi. I was too scared to try the crawfish I couldn't even pick it up without being scared as the head is on. My friend didn't like it she thought the texture wasn't right so we did return that. Service is out of hand. I think either they're short of workers or they just gave up. This is my absolute favorite spot and I frequent this establishment quite often. I do a pickup often and I absolutely love the Cajun fried wings, Cajun fish with salad and combo #1. With that being said, they need new management. Because my wings were terrible, super soggy and wet unlike the usual crispy wings and whoever was in charge of bagging literally shoved everything in a brown paper bag with a hope a prayer. It was bad. My Cajun fish meal container was smashed in and it was just weird and soggy. So not the usual!!!!! No one picks up the phone during business hours no matter what. If you have a complaint, save it for the next day. It's gotten really bad at this location. read more

January 2025 update: I came prepared with my own implements (kitchen shears and plastic crab sheller/zipper). We thoroughly enjoyed our seafood boil of Combo 4 (mild Louisiana flavor) with the addition of more corn & sausage for the table. We also ordered fried shrimp, garlic noodles, and rice for the table. We order two extra Dynamite sauces for the spicy eaters at the table. PSA: Do not throw away the sauce; take it home to cook more seafood in! Service was attentive and ambiance was very pleasant. I took my son and a group of his friends (total of 7 of us) to Bag O' Crab for his birthday. We were originally told the wait would be about 25-30 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 50. The staff was super sweet, though, and even sang my son "Happy Birthday," which we really appreciated once things slowed down. The food itself was alright, but definitely on the pricier side compared to other seafood boil spots I've been to, and the portions felt a bit small for the cost. This used to be our go-to spot until I heard about the chef incident. After some time passed and hearing there was a new staff and that the chef was no longer there, I decided to give this place another try. We live on the other side of the bridge, so before heading over we checked the business hours on Google, which showed Friday closing at 10:00 PM. We arrived around 9:10 PM and were asked if we wanted dine-in or to-go. When we requested a table, the host mentioned--more than once--that they close at 9:30 PM. We got the hint and, wanting to be respectful since it was close to closing time, we switched our order to to-go. On the way out, I checked the business hours again and it still showed a 10:00 PM closing time. I understand restaurants may stop seating earlier to allow time for cleanup, so I didn't make an issue of it. However, once we got home, we realized the bag felt unusually light. After opening it, we found the order was incorrect--our crab was missing the head, and we received mussels instead of clams, which my fiancé doesn't eat. After spending nearly $100, paying bridge tolls, and making sure to be mindful of posted business hours, this experience was really disappointing. I almost didn't say anything and considered just going back to our other Cajun spot ( Cajun Crackin), but I wanted to share this feedback so I could at least say I tried to be a return customer. read more

So I don't usually leave reviews, but I've visited this restaurant several times with my family and felt the need to share our experience after seeing the backlash this restaurant is facing. I'm not a people person & could honestly care less about this certain topic, but this is the one seafood restaurant in our area that I enjoy dining at. We can be a lively, sometimes complicated group to serve. Yet every time we visit, the staff has been nothing but attentive, polite, and welcoming. On our most recent visit, Our server was a friendly Hispanic woman with curly hair, and she was absolutely wonderful. She made sure we were all taken care of, and when some of my family had a bit of trouble deciding what to order so we could share, a manager kindly stepped in to help us out in deciding. We ended up ordering the C3, two Combo 2s, and some cocktails. Everything we ordered was amazing. What truly stood out was the service. We even tipped on top of the gratuity because it was that good, and I usually never tip anybody. My family and I are very loud and blunt people of color. So sometimes we're met with hesitation and micro- aggressions when dining out, but eating at Bag O' Crab, it all feels like one big happy family. Everybody is included and feels at home. The service, the food, and especially the staff made for an amazing night out with my family & I'm never one to say that ever haha. Probably one of the best seafood boil I've had in a long time. They have a robot assistant that delivers the food to the table too. Service was cool the first time, not too busy and she was attentive. Came on a Sunday night and it was packed! Service was not as attentive (couldn't even get a refill of water), but the food was still good except the corn. The corn on both occasions were overcooked and not edible. Everything else is bomb though. It's a great spot for anybody, big groups or small. It's a casual vibe with plenty of screens. Loud music, but good music. And a full bar! We got there at 8:30 at night and I know that they close at 9:30 but it was my birthday Tuesday, December 9 so I was expecting an experience after even informing the waiter that it was my birthday. They rushed to get our food out then they were just giving us anything. Then I seen that they charged my tab garlic noodles, which I never gotten or received and I already knew not to eat my food there because I wasn't going to enjoy it properly. I got home Wednesday and decided to reheat my food and I seen that I had a yellow kiwi sticker in my crab boil, and it was never opened up until I finally felt comfortable eating it, and then I realized there was a sticker in my food. I am so upset and this is the second time from a different place, but the same franchise that are not clean when it comes to having seafood. They have my contact number and I still have not received a response from this place doordash then gives me a credit of only $15 after I had informed them I retired the entire order. I called and was told I would get a call back and I have not gotten a call back from doordash either. So now I am disputing the charges with my bank. read more

UPDATED 1/31/25 Unfortunately while my partner and I were eating here , mid-meal we saw a roach in the booth. Literally crawling next to her shoulder. We politely and discreetly asked our server to take care of it as we didn't want to cause a scene and our server helped us shift towards the tables next the window. We told the manager on duty we've been coming here for awhile now but we were very disappointed , and disgusted by seeing this. The manager gave us 50% and politely apologized for this experience.
