Baked pasta sampler / pistachio crusted trout
    Dana D.

Food was great! We came here after hiking almost 7 miles and it was definitely worth it. We ordered the cheese dip for our appetizer and was very tasty. Then we split the pistachio trout and Baked Sampler which was amazing. Haley was our waitress and she was very sweet and so helpful. Could not beat the view of the outdoor tables. Would definitely go back again.

Taking a day trip to lake lure and stopped in here on a whim, this place is amazing!! Brittany, our server, was sweet, kind, efficient, knowledgeable. The eggplant parmesan was bigger than my head! Definitely a must for coming down to this area!!!

Food was delicious. Service was personable and friendly. Food came quickly, was made on premises. Great pimento cheese. Had the chicken BBQ pizza which was great. Ambiance was relaxing and romantic.

    Lasagna with meat sauce

Good food, great service. Seating/environment was fine. A nice experience, truly. Nothing to necessarily rave about though.

    Purple haze (and the ring)

Post proposal dinner (she said yes). I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Very clean and updated. Staff were very friendly and proactive. Beautiful view from outside looking at the mountains. I don't remember ordering garlic rolls, but we got some anyway. They are delicious, just be careful not to get any of the butter on your clothes. We split a purple haze, and it was awesome! I had chicken Alfredo, she had eggplant parmesan, both were delicious and big portions. We both took ours home for another meal. For dessert we split the cinnamon cheesecake ice cream, which was both huge and delectable! Everything was fairly priced as well. I would definitely eat here again.

5 STAR Service for SURE! From the time you walk in by the hostess to our super nice waitress! My husband had the Beef Tenderloin and they were just that, TENDER AND DELICIOUS. Can be cut with a butter knife. I had the Meat Manicotti which was also delicious. Adding a side salad is 5$ so my meal was 21$ for 3 manicotti and a side salad which is very high. Calamari not recommended as the rings are extremely small, so more breading than calamari. They don't give any bread which at an Italian restaurant is kind of to be expected. But I did she garlic knots you can purchase that look really good. TIP: BRING CASH OTHERWISE YOU WILL PAY A 3.5% CREDIT CARD FEE

This family own d restaurant is an institution overlooking Lake Lure. It started in Charlotte as an old school Italian expanding and moving to the Lake Lure location with an expanded menu. It is a large restaurant with a bar as well as indoor and outdoor seating. It is known for pizza and traditional Italian food. We ordered the baked La Strada special with three classic dishes Chicken Parm, Fettuccine Alfredo and Lasagna. It was very filling and enough food to feed an army. Definitely large portions and old school feel. It reminded me of family style places from the 1980s. Great family atmosphere and pretty views of the lake from the patio. It gets very busy and is very popular!

This little independently owned shop has limited hours on limited days of the week, there nothing like an owner who opens when he wants to and serves up a great selection of novelties, this almost always ensure you'll get quality products and it also means you'll probably have to pay up a little although I found the moderate pricing to be reasonable. The menus are posted everywhere once you climb the flight of stairs to the porch level - like more traditional ice cream stands there's a ordering window and a pickup window this to me signifies this place can get pretty busy although today that wasn't the case, of course I arrived a few minutes after opening. This place seems to offer unlimited flavors of ice cream and as I reviewed all the postings the only distraction was a couple of teenage boys seating on the bench beside the railing - one was crunching on his cup full of ice while the other was sucking on lemons he retrieved from his empty cup of lemonade, both were a little annoying but I was here for ice cream so it's wasn't hard to ignore the ill-mannered children although they arrived here in a early 2000 mini truck that hadn't seen a car wash in months. We found a picnic table under a big oak tree that provided shade to enjoy our treat and far enough away from the ice cruncher and lemon sucker to relax and suck down our shakes, I was bound and determined to do a little straw sucking to get some payback but unfortunately the two departed before I got to the bottom of my cup. We ordered a Banana and North Carolina Peach Shake in separate cups of course the smooth ice cream was filled with freshly sliced bananas and delicious peaches that kept clogging up the straws (that's a great sign for me it reminded me of my childhood when you had to pull the straw and do a reverse slurp to clean the fruit from within). The owners were friendly but focused and the little windows only provided a small portal to the inside which I thought was rather comical - a hand appeared to take the payment then it appeared again to hand over the product. It was a great experience over-all and the shakes were delicious, this is definitely a gem in the mountain forrest and deserves a visit again and again when in the area...

I must say this is the best hidden gem restaurant I have ever come across. The staff were also very nice and friendly and were willing to help you with the menu selections. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating even to accommodate groups. The dining room is filled with old nostalgic Coca-Cola, Pepsi, antique gas pumps, and local state memorabilia. They even have a wood fired pizza oven in the corner of the dining room. While there on this quiet Saturday evening we tried the homemade baked lasagna and Chicago deep dish style pizza. The lasagna was 100% homemade including the homemade in-house sauce was very fresh, one of the best lasagnas I've ever had. The entree also came with a side of garlic bread and a small house salad. The Chicago pizza was cheese and we added, with mention from the owner, fresh mozzarella slices and fresh basil. This was a game changer and it totally changed the dynamic of the pizza. This may be the best deep dish Chicago style pizza outside of Chicago. This also came with fresh house made sauce and fresh sliced mozzarella cheese. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis. This is my new favorite Italian/pizza restaurant.
