I didn't have a complaint about my food but I am vegetarian so to get the whole spectrum here you would have to order meat dishes. Service was above average when I went with a small group. They do offer music on Friday's and Saturday's starting at 8pm, some people have warned that they charge cover, I can't verify this. I found prices to be right. Came for dinner on a weekday. Mixed feelings on the food, quality, authenticity, and cost. The service was good. They came to fill up waters, were very nice, just that they were a little slow. The place is nice and they must have live music because there is a small stage at the corner setup for a musician, maybe a band of 2 people. Now the food. Overall expensive for what you get, except for a couple of things. The appetizers were actually good. We had croquetas de bacalao (cod fish croquettes) and croquetas de Chistorra. The chistorra croquettes were quite good. Each order brought 6 small croquettes for $12 each. So each bite was $2. Fried calamari were ok but way too pricey at $14 for the quality. Maybe acceptable if it was from Dominos pizza at half the price. The grilled octopus was good but at $24 for one 8-inch tentacle, it's a bit much. Overall, appetizers were good. For entrees we ordered Sardinas fritas at ajillo. These were good and for $14 I think the price was fair. Fabada Asturiana for $13 was not good. It felt as it was made a day ago. The fabes were overcooked and mushy. The morcilla was not of great quality. It had a piece of pork belly fat that was not very appealing and it didn't have neither the taste or traces of lacón (ham hock). The Callos à la madrileña were also a letdown. Not enough broth. It was made with garbanzo (chickpeas) which is not traditional. It has chistorra instead of chorizo. And the tripe did not taste great and at $18 it was even worse. Lastly we also got the grilled chicken with potatoes. $24 was a bit much. This was probably worth no more than $14. The chicken was cooked ok, but they left a lot of the nerves, fat, and cartilage so it was not a great experience eating it. We are of spanish descent and eaten great Spanish food. This restaurant unfortunately was not a great experience in the food quality. Some things were good, some just bad, and overall was way to expensive for what it is. We weee a group of six celebrating Mother's Day. The place is old world Spanish tapas restaurant. We ordered the seafood paella for six. Lobster tails, mussels, claims, large prong shrimp and crabmeat. All cooked together with Spanish style rice. It was delicious! Excellent service attendance! El cordero, un pelin fuerte para mi gusto, mejor si fuera mas tipo lechal o pequeno, pero aqui en USA es muy dificil encontrar cordero lechal, lo traen de Australia y Nueva Zelanda, un poco fuerte de sabor, pero con la salsa, estaba muy bueno. Ademas, este plato si que era generoso, dos porciones grandes. Daria para dos personas este plato. El unico plato que fue "generoso" en tamano. 7 sobre 10 - Postres: Tarta vasca" Bueno, no era tarta vasca que deberia de estar bastante cruda y cremosa por dentro... esta era una tarta de queso casera, no estaba mal, pero te mata las espectativas de una tarta vasca de verdad. 5 sobre 10 Flan: Estaba bien, casero. 6 sobre 10 Y no pedimos vino pero nos cobraron $35 de descorche, que me merece la pena pq un DOMINIO DEL PIDIO que yo traje cuesta en store unos $70. The waiter did not serve the paella however I had to serve by myself which was ok with me. I am a patron who has been coming ro La Taberna de Ignacio for 10 years. Today is my wife's birthday and she wanted to eat there. I'll get straight to it. The waiter who sat us only brought 2 menus to the table when there were 7 of us. I had to wave him down and ask for more menus. During the meal, he never came to our table to see if we needed water. My son ate a corvina and when he got to the middle of the fish realized that it was undercooked. I looked at it and it was pink inside. I called the waiter over to complain and inform him that the fish was undercooked and he didn't even apologize or give us an option. I was very disappointed. I made a giant mistake by not requesting a specific table, as they sat us in the worst table in the restaurant. We were blocked from clearly watching the show, by a much larger table. In my opinion, they should have shared this knowledge with me, seeing how I was the first reservation. Anyway, the food was ok, the show was better. Temperature inside the restaurant was warm and the service slowed down once the place got packed and the show started. Their shows are great. This place always puts on a great show and doesn't hesitate to satisfy my tummy every time I come out. The singers and dancers are always festive and play the part well, and the food and wine is delicious. NPS = 4 I will not be returning to this establishment any time soon. The concept of service does exist here. Countless times, our party ran out of water and it took several asks to get the water refilled. One of the things that bother me the most is that my sister asked for a "Cafe bonbon", it took over 20 minutes to come out. Worst part of all is that once it came out, the server took it to another table where the person sitting there wanted to take pictures of it, the person took photos of it with their phone, and then the server brought the coffee to my sister. This upset me because I personally do not like receiving food which was taken to another table first. Overall, the experience took 2 hours and we were not impressed.
