We were on our way to a food garden nearby when we passed by Selfies and decided to change our plans in favor of this stylish Spanish tapas bar that would not feel out of place in Palermo or Roma Norte. We shared most of the vegetarian tapas options, with a glass or two of sparkling wine. All of the flavors were exceptional. The light flavor of quince in the membrillo paired well not solely with the fried cheese, but also with the pieces of patatas bravas that fell to the wayside of the (also-delicious) aioli. And the tangy tomato salsa paired with the roasted scallions was divine.

Yummy, good prices. Unfortunately the shrimp salad was so salty I couldn't eat really eat it, but the Fresca salad was super yummy and the papas dish with fried egg and veggies, and rustico sandwhich. Prawn dish wasn't the best, but not bad. Would come back, just wouldn't order shrimp salad today

    Disgusting Octopus. Chewy and gross.

Very unhappy with both service and food quality. I ordered their grilled octopus which was chewy and gross. Got there early and was told by one employee to go inside, another employee kicks us out immediately because she was cleaning (about 3 minutes before opening time). Seated outside to wait and then we are told we cannot go inside because wits all reserved.... we had smokers next to the table so it was completely disgusting and disrespectful on their part for not letting the group know beforehand. Will never return or recommend this joint to anyone. San Juan has many amazing restaurants, go to any of those. Not worth the trip, money or time.

Great neighborhood tapas and vino/drinks. The staff is accommodating and friendly. Eat like a local. Visit the Taberna Selfies.

Best Spanish food in town! Great ambiance & safe location right next to Ciudadela! Must visit if you're in the San Juan area.

It's small, loud, a little gritty, and completely inviting--exactly what a true dive bar should be. The walls are covered in graffiti and stickers from years of visitors leaving their mark, and honestly, that's part of the magic. You can't help but look around and smile at all the personality packed into such a cozy space. One of my favorite details? Look over to the right corner of the bar and you'll spot what looks like a vintage cash register straight out of the 1800s. Then right in the middle of the bar you've got the modern point-of-sale devices. The contrast is hilarious and perfect--old-school charm meeting modern bar life. There's a pool table, plenty of seating for such an intimate spot, and yes, a restroom inside (always appreciated in Old San Juan!). But what really makes this place stand out is the service--the staff is fantastic, welcoming, and they pour seriously strong drinks that are also refreshingly affordable. This is the kind of place where you come for one drink in the afternoon and suddenly the whole evening disappears in great conversation and good vibes. If you're wandering the streets of Old San Juan and want authentic dive bar energy, great drinks, and a place full of character, this is absolutely a must-stop. Highly recommend.

Always a good time here. Love the grunge vibe. The Pina Batida was delicious! Service was friendly!read more

Love-Love-Love this place!…read more I was geeked to go here because for one I was on vacation on a beautiful island with my beautiful woman and two they were right down the street from where we were staying. Upon entering you are welcomed by a set of stairs that lead you to an open floor plan that is decorated simple yet somewhat of a beach theme. There wasn't any employees anywhere to be seen except the patrons enjoying themselves so we were somewhat confused on what to do so we walked over to the register and were greeted by a gentleman from the back. He said we could sit anywhere we'd like and he'd come and explain how things work. He explained to us that they use a wristband and the taps have a sensor and we scan our wristband and it measures how much we get each time and we are billed by the ounces we pour; what a great concept. We enjoyed many of their beers, each one just as great as the last. My personal favorite was the peanut butter porter, delish! The ordering for the food is by QR code which I hate, but it is what it is. I feel like if you're paying for food and giving a tip you should at least bare minimum have someone taking your order and tending to your needs. We ordered: Fish tacos 5/5 Croquettes 5/5 The one employee who was working was kind and courteous and great, so we left him a nice tip on our beer and food, which were separate bills. We will see you again the next time we are on the island. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Thanks again :)
