We stopped by The Place while on vacation. The restaurant has a nice chill vibe. TVs to watch sports/news. Menu was good. My wife and I tried the Skirt Steak plate with rice and beans and tostones. Everything tasted great, but it took about an hour for our food to get to our table even though they were not busy. The server was nice and touched our table a few times, apologizing about the delay on the food. I ate here eight years ago and wanted to see if they had improved. Alas, they are even worse. My house burger was so bad I had to stop eating it halfway, and I love burgers. My onion rings were old and soggy and they have "trick" price listings for beer on the menus. It was also hot, the fans were not working, and there were few customers, while other places were packed. Servers were able to assist me navigate the menu to avoid allergies. It's an open restaurant. No air conditioning if that's going to be a problem. The restaurant has birds & cats roaming around. Didn't bother us but may bother others. It's an open wall facility. There were fans and when I went past there another time, there was mist spraying to help keep patrons cool. We came here because we had some time to kill before we could check into our rental. And came back the next day to watch the end of a college football game. The space was great. The service was spotty. Our first visit, our server was awesome and attentive. The second visit was less so. We had to go up to the hostess stand after sitting for 10mins to have somebody come by and bring us menus (the Q.R. code outside was not properly setup). We had high hopes for this place because of the menu, but our server was so excruciatingly inept he could not manage to get our drinks (2 drinks) even 30 minutes after we ordered them. He just threw the bar staff under the bus over and over. Meanwhile, other tables were getting their drinks. He brought my food (an app which I said I wanted when the others got their entrees) out 15 min before the rest of our food came out, saying he didn't want it to get cold. When the other food arrived, the burger was a burnt puck and the cheese on top was not melted. How do you even do that? We decided to leave and asked for the check. First off, I'd like to give a shout out to Zoe, our waitress, last Friday. If anybody from management is reading this, she was great. Friendly and attentive. Made the experience better. The menu consisted of either a build your own burger, build your own pizza, or build your own fish tacos. I have had their burgers before so I went with pizza. I went a bit conservative with a regular pepperoni pizza. I also added some mushrooms and jalapeños for an extra kick. Overall, the pizza was good, but I felt the crust was a bit bland. I would still order it again, just though it could be more flavorful. They didn't have a kid's menu, so we went with the smallest burger (sans bun) and a side of fries, which were excellent. I've been here 3 times and find the food to be average. The burgers are fine and the pizza is okay. There are better places to get those things in the area. The reason we have kept coming back is because we always have a good time. The atmosphere is what makes this place worth it, especially if you come with a group. They have several TV screens to watch sports and a stage for live music. My favorite part is the beer garden in the back. It is spacious and, with the long tables, is perfect for groups. This is a good place to come with friends or family and enjoy some drinks (very nice beer menu) and appetizers. The buffalo wings are really good. Stopped by 'The Place' for lunch on a weekday per a recommendation from another guest at our hotel. The spot is fairly big and has an indoor/outdoor vibe - aka no air conditioning and it was hot AF. Since we wanted to have a quick bite and get back to the beach, we sat at the (empty) bar. We ordered drinks and our food fairly quickly. We each did build your own burgers and got a side of fries with one of them. It took FOREVER for our burgers to come out. Their grill/kitchen is open so I was able to view just how slow and inept their kitchen staff was. There was one cook grilling patties and other worker who seemed to be assembling the burgers. The assembly chef was USELESS. He kept on walking around, back and forth, chit chatting, standing around doing nothing, when there were several burgers off the grill waiting on the shelf to be put together. FINALLY our food came and I was so hungry that I failed to stop and take a photo. The burger was OK - overpriced and the side of fries was puny. Waiting for 45 min the waiter asked if we got our food and we responded no food nor the beer, just as we had decided to leave another staff member came to ask if we had been served and we voiced our disappointment. They rushed our order we had asked for ranch ( which they do not have) we ordered blue cheese to go with the wings and they only brought only small sauce dishes of dressing. We asked for a few more and finally we were able to eat with only 20 min left before closing time. I enjoyed my experience at The Place. If you're just looking for food alone, I would probably just walk down the street to Buns burger shop. It's a bit cheaper, the burgers are pretty comparable, and the wait won't be as long. That said, if you're looking for a trendy spot with larger groups + want drinks and other stuff, The Place is probably a better option. I waited about 30 minutes for my burger on a Sunday night at 8pm. I'm guessing bigger parties probably had closer to 45+ plus. The menu is very American. Burgers, sandwiches, fries, and more. I enjoyed my burger- it was a make your own. I would say that the value is probably not quite there (expect to pay about $9-11 for a burger, depending on the toppings) + extra if you want any side dishes. Again, if you're looking purely for food, I think there are better options. That said, there are a lot of options + TVs + drinks here so it's probably better for larger parties. read more

Went here last night for an early lunch. The server was friendly and took our orders, not minding any customizations. We ordered a pizza, 4oz burger, and fries. All of the food was hot and cooked perfectly. The pizza has thin crust, though I didn't care for the taste of the sauce that much. Toppings were really fresh and were generous.
