They're plump, tender, and swimming in a mild garlic sauce that begs to be soaked up with their warm homemade bread. Pure comfort. On a most recent dinning experience, the staff at La Veranda was fantastic, especially jovial Selso (spelling?) who greeted us upon our arrived and never failed to impress throughout our stay. He was especially instrumental when told one of us was celebrating a birthday and desired their best Tiramisu ever. We got just that along with cannolis and birthday music while waiters and fellow patrons sang along. It was a truly memorable experience. Our patio table was nicely situated in the courtyard adorned with trees and Bougainvillea. Their Clams Posillipo in white sauce, along with toasted bread and garlic was a good start to our meal, followed by their wonderful tasting Brazino and the Cioppino Di Pesce which included scallops, clams, fish, calamari and giant shrimp in a garlicky light fish broth. The chef is amazing. Some of the best authentic Italian eats I've had. So glad I found them and came on my week in FL. I'm still dreaming of the pillowy gnocchi. The Ceasar salad is perfectly dressed, mini croutons that are soft and don't tear your mouth, and brown anchovy to balance that saltiness you need. You get a bowl of pepper flakes and grated parm for your own garnish needs (plus in my book when I get a bowl of cheese with my meal) The wine was great! Paired so well with my veal dish! Best thin cutlets of veal I've had, velvety and flavorful, the proccuitto on top was the best salt content with the melted mozzarella and the Sugo was fantastic. The gnocchi is a must, house made, large bite, melt in your mouth with an amazing red sauce. The focaccia bread was made in house and was crispy on the outside but so light and fluffy on the inside, great oil and seasonings. The staff Sarah and Chris were so amazing and so accommodating to me, and even told the chef to come out and meet with me. I was blown away by the beautiful atmosphere and wished I was there to see someone play on the beautiful stage they have. The patio was grand and I loved the lighting for a sexy/intimate night. If you are looking for a cute date night place or a family night with excellent meals, this was definitely a great experience. I thought it was very cool how an italian restaurant had decorations with various artists such as Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix! They had live music with entertainment directly from the owner of the establishment. The pasta is made from scratch and the chef is from Italy so you are getting the authentic experience! You are served garlic bread upon entering and much attention from your server. I tried the cheese ravioli( I'm addicted to cheese lol) and it was very fresh and delish. With live entertainment with some really talented acts, including Jamie King Colton playing piano and singing. Also the owner of the restaurant join in singing, and he has a great voice. They we're also welcoming people on stage to Sing, and play music with them. What a great experience! Love the decor and the style of the restaurant with their cool vintage artwork of musicians that came before. And they're beautiful patio area with trees and vines so vintage looks like Italy. The food was exquisite here with their homemade pasta, and sauces. The pasta they make in house, so it's really fresh and cooked al dente. Their sauces are so flavorful. I have dairy allergies so they made me a dish that was completely dairy free, and it taste so great it had a wine sauce with garlic that tasted so buttery and light and fresh full flavor. I am very happy with it. I got the "Oreccchiette Broccoli Rare and Sausage " definitely recommend this dish. My family got the "Ravioli Veranda", she absolutely loved it! Huge, raviolis, nice and puffy full of stuffing, and great sauce very fresh full flavor. Also we got the "Pappardelle Boscaiola", my family member loved it!!! Pappardelle homemade pasta with marinated Porcini mushrooms, in a hearty Bolognese sauce with mascarpone cheese! Really good portion well balanced, cheesiness with meat and sauce. On Easter Sunday, we had a reservation for 4 at LaVeranda Restaurant in Pompano Beach at 6 pm.We chose to eat inside. although the outdoor patio was Lovely and inviting; it's just that the music was a little loud. Our entrees were Chicken Parmesan, Seafood combo, Chicken Marsala and Short Rib Pappardelle. We asked for bread and it was delivered along with 2 glasses of wine and 2 coffees . Our server, Christopher, outstanding, very attentive and frequently stopped by to ask if we needed anything. We all agreed our food selections were delicious and servings generous. This place apparently is a staple and well known place in pompano beach. They say they are under new management and you can tell. Part of the restaurant is a dark classy dinner place. The other part is like a lounge? I'm not sure what it is but they play live music and the decor is very much different. The food however was so good and be prepared to eat because the portions are so large! Even the desserts. The drink was good, except that it was so strong so the added more juice. The service was also great! I cannot remember our server I think it was Chris was but he was phenomenal. We pass by this place all the time and it always looked nice with great reviews, so we finally gave it a try--and wow, why did we wait so long? This is a wonderful family-owned restaurant with family recipes that really shine. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by Celso the host, and our server Ariel was excellent--super friendly and helped guide us through the menu and specials. My wife and I like to split dishes so we can try more, and everything we had was fantastic. We started with an appetizer special, then shared a pasta, and for our main dish went with the yellowtail snapper for two. It was perfectly cooked, generous in portion, and we'll be enjoying leftovers for days. The restaurant has been around for years and has such a nice, romantic vibe. Visited La Veranda for a Saturday night dinner. It wasn't crowded and there was no wait which was appreciated! We sat outside in the patio which provided beautiful ambient lighting and ordered calamari for an appetizer. They were just ok and we had to ask for lemon to boost flavor. For dinner, we ordered the fiocchetti and lobster ravioli, both of which were delicious! Service was great and attentive and food was mostly great as well. Would recommend! read more

Just moved to Florida, we ended up at the Veranda with some friends (their first time too). We were very impressed by the food and the service. My husband and I had the Carbonara, our friends had the Lasagna and some spaghetti with seafood (can't remember the name) the best carbonara I had in a long time, I forgot we also had the house salad with the best lemon and oil vinaigrette. To finish we had cannoli and a Chocolate almond cake with ice cream. I recommend the cannoli "awesome " I can eat it everyday. The place is more for adults, with live music on the weekends. The only complaint is it's too dark and you need your phone to see the menu . We had a great waitress, Meghan . She was very attentive, nerves missed a beat. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and it was such an amazing evening! He drank a Meomi and I had the white Zinfandel which was a great recommendation from our server. I had the pappardelle and started off with the Antipasto which was spectacular. It was very filling and had leftovers the next day. By the time we got home, we knocked out! The people who work there are so genuine and kind, our server Jennifer made our night! She was so energetic, sweet, and attentive. Went here while on family vacation in pompano. The vibe of this place was awesome, we weren't expecting what we walked into! The comfy suede chairs, ambient lighting, all of it was great. Now onto the meals- we're a big Italian family so we were ready to see what this place was about! My family got a mix of pastas, seafood specials and filets. No one had a single complaint about the food and honestly, it might have been the first time everyone was quiet stuffing their face. Was just exploring the other night and came across this interesting restaurant. The outside had this purple lighting splashed across the front of the building. The inside was cozy. Decided to order a drink; wow, it took forever to get my drink and it wasn't even busy. Didn't order any food so can't comment on that area. Other reviews seem to be mixed, so I'm wondering the reason for the uneven experiences. The only thing I can come up with was that their standards are uneven across their staff. It was okay for me because I just had a drink; for folks dining it could be a disappointment. This restaurant has a lot of potential for great things; just have to up their game and standardize across their entire staff. They have the ambiance down, so the rest should not be a great hurdle. Wow! Just wow. When you walk in you are taken through a small quaint what looks like an Italian alley way. Into the restaurant. The restaurant takes you back to someone's backyard but also to someone's cute romantic intimate stage restaurant. They do have live local bands Fridays and Saturday's. Service: The service started off a little slow but once we were attended to it was beyond amazing. The waitress presented us with all the options available and even helped us pair a wine with our food. Food: The bolognese was sooooo good! It was meaty and the red sauce tasted like it was made from Scratch. My boyfriend tried their pear pasta which was in a white sauce. SO DIFFERENT BUT DELICIOUS! who would've thought pear and cheese go so well together. It was like a stuffed ravioli. Ambiance: We went on a Thursday around 8pm. I hadn't been to this restaurant in more than 15 years. Tonight was the night that I finally went back along with 3 other guests. The food was not exquisite, it was average. The table assistant kept trying to clear my plate while I was still eating...literally, fork in hand, other hand holding my plate....he still took it! Of course, he brought it back when my husband yelled at him but it was too late by then. I had enough. The excuse....he doesn't speak English. Oh...he apparently doesn't speak sign language either. I had the Chicken Marsala. It came with a side of mashed potatoes. If you want pasta on the side at this Italian restaurant you must order it separately along with the salad. Hmmm. Ok. We parked in the rear parking lot and saw the vespas. Then we walked in and saw the pay phone and knew we were in for a unique dining experience. We were seated quickly and given a table with a view of the alfresco supper room. Our server is Italian and welcomed us with water and basket of bread. We noshed on small bread bites and cut & airy, focaccia bread with hints of garlic dusted with parmesan cheese. Our server went over the specials in great detail. We were overwhelmed and realized we were not in Kansas, anymore. We started off with the burrata special. The pouch of mozzarella revealed a center of stracciatella and clotted cream that I last had at my local formaggiaio in Philadelphia. The burrata was resting on spring mixed greens, dashed with EVOO and chopped basil, surrounded by sliced wedges of tomatoes in red and yellow with a generous serving of reduced balsamic vinegar, thick and tasty. With each bite, my taste buds exploded with buttery, milky, and sweet deliciousness. Main course was salt baked branzino, served with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and sautéed broccoli rabe. Our server impressed us by cracking the salt shell open right at our table! The salt layer insulates and flavors the branzino from the outside while fresh herbs flavor from the inside. The fish, drizzled with EVOO, was melt in my mouth tender bites, full of flavor and NOT salty. The potatoes were creamy seasoned with garlic. The asparagus was grilled perfectly tender with dash of salt & pepper. The broccoli rabe sautéed with just the right amount of garlic chips. The chef checked on us to confirm our satisfaction but it did not end there...dessert. Our eyes widened to the choices. We wanted to sample all but resided on the Cassata Siciliana, "a sweet pastry with ricotta filling, almond and citrus essence with chocolate chips". In all my years of eating, buying, and preparing Italian foods, I have never tasted such creamy delight. It was a blend of almond, citrus, bite of cacao with a hint of sweetness. Had reservation, seated right away close to the music as requested, however didn't realize it'll be too loud to have normal conversation. Owner happened to stop by, Hubby asked about table numbers in the back for next time, and he moved us there instead. Very unexpected and appreciated! Hubby: Lasgna Della Mamma Me: Paccheri Shrimp/Vodka sauce We savored every bite, tasting each other's dish and finished the bottle. Parking lot located behind the building with direct entrance just East of the building. Very Tuscany, dark and romantic. * Weekend they have live music after a certain hour, turns it a lounge/bar. Sadly, Maybe it was just the slow vibe on a Tuesday night but our waiter showed his boredom with his 1 tone for the specials, and a bland table talk. Our table had the bolognese, chicken francese and the pasta i calarmai. The pasta calamari was supposed to come in a spicy marinara but they missed the spice to the grain of salt. With additional disappointment we shared a $40 bottle of Josh Cabernet . In walegreens in a $7.99 dollar.... Everyone else's meals seem to have been enjoyed. I would recommend the chicken francese. I did not say anything about my meal as the other entrees were fine. I assumed this is the way it came and was very disappointed.
