I've driven by this place so many times- I finally decided to try. As a former NYer, I am very finicky about pizza here! So- brought the hubby who is also finicky! But knows his stuff! It was lunch time. Not very busy- we were seated at a booth . Service was quick, we were given menus & when we ordered our drinks- I was amazed that 4- yes- 4 garlic rolls showed up at our table. Smelling of garlic & looked so yummy. I usually avoid these but couldn't resist! It was yummy indeed! Hubby ordered a bowl of Pasta Fagioli soup. I tasted it- was really good. Lots of flavor. Went to Zuccarelli's after a long day out on the boat. Service was familial and very friendly from start to end. The plaza is currently under construction and so parking is a little limited although we were able to get spots with no problem. We shared some warm garlic rolls (complimentary), ceasar salad, spinach ravioli, and a small white hawaiian pizza. This was plenty of food for 2 people and we had leftovers! The pizza was very good! I appreciated the no sauce version of this classic pizza paired with ricotta cheese. Delicious! The spinach ravioli was just ok - the sauce was too thick for my taste and could've been thinned a little to make the dish less heavy. The wait time was 50 minutes and to say that it wasn't worth it as an understatement. The place is popular apparently because it's inexpensive with the biggest offense is that when we go to their website lead you to Google related reservation system that estimated a 30 minute wait; not only was it wrong, but the host at the restaurant devoured any knowledge of it which makes it a scam. Food came out cold. Not warm but cold. 90% of our group was sick all night after so not saying it's the food, but it's the food. A local amongst may Italian food restaurants in the area, this East location was noticably 90% capacity between seated and pick up business. I am not a seasoned Italian food eater, but I know quality ingredients, preparation, and service. I wanted to go to just my second Italian food restaurant that severs more than just pizza. Oddly enough, I ordered a calzone, which is not too far from that. I was made in an apprent rush because the chees was clumpped up in one end of the fold (I think fetta), the meat sparingly inside and the other cheese throughout. As a cheese lover, I had to admit it was too much, and I didn't finish or take it with me. The tomato sauce for dipping had no stamd out flavoring but may have been fresh, which seems good. The house salad ro start was okay. I also ordered a mocha and cheese cake for dessert, which was average. Locally known for comfort food, I think it may be known more for its pizza and a good budget sit down where you can have a glass of wine and "belly fill". We cant get enough of this restaurant. Been there several times and never leave hungry or disappointed. This last time was as good as ever. We go early, before 6pm to beat crowds and get a booth. The service is excellent, servers are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is that of an older Italian restaurant, nothing fancy. For me, very comfortable and familiar. I ordered and really enjoyed my eggplant rollatini which was prepared without breading and had lots of ricotta cheese filling. My boyfriend loved his chicken parm dish with side of spaghetti cooked perfectly and the chicken was also fresh and tender.. Their sauce is really good and that is hard to find. We are both Italian so very critical of the sauce. (I happen to make a good one but love that i can enjoy a good Italian dinner without having to always cook it myself) The broccoli rabe was tender and fresh with plenty of nicely sautéed real and fresh garlic . The garlic rolls were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with again, fresh garlic. They dont have an early dinner menu but dinner prices are very fair for this amount and quality of food. I had a decaf Cappucino for my dessert. It was a little weak even for decaf, BUT i enjoyed it with the sugar crystal stirrer, a nice touch. Parking is easy in the lot. I ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp and minestrone soup (cup). I asked the waitress is the minestrone soup had pasta in it and she said no. But it does. I can't have the pasta. My salad was so so. You don't serve warm shrimp with the Caesar salad part (It should have cooled off). There was sea bass as well as chicken parmigiana at the table which people liked. They brought garlic rolls to the table which people liked as well. The service was pretty good. We need refills on water a lot and that was a bit difficult. I've been eating at Zuccarelli's since 1985 when I lived in North Lauderdale and his restaurant was a few blocks away from where I lived. After a number of years they moved the restaurant and I was disappointed. A few years later I moved to Boca Raton and right on 441 about 2 miles from my house I saw a restaurant in the corner of a strip mall and there it was ZUCCARELLI's I continued eating there for the rest of the years until he retired and sold the place to someone else but he included his recipes in the sale. I continued eating there and as fate would have it I was told about a fantastic Italian restaurant in west palm beach by the name of Zuccarelli's and I had to go there to see if it really was the same place as the one I started eating at in 1984. It turned out that papa Zuccarelli's daughter took over the reins and created a restaurant that was exactly like her fathers and even extended the menu to include many other dishes that were as delicious as all the other dishes. Now I live in Boca Raton Florida and Blairsville Georgia. We came to Florida for the holidays and see our children and grandchildren who live in pompano beach. We were getting hungry so I looked for someplace to order food from on Yelp and there it was, ZUCCARELLI's how could I not order food from there? It was so good and brought back memories from 1984.
