The restaurant is pretty, inside and out but if it was like yesterday, you're gonna deal with the lack of breeze if you sit outside. Our group of 10 or so started outside but it was hot and there wasn't any breeze, so we relocated inside. Our server, Fadi, followed us and provided excellent service. He was personable and really set the tone for friendly and professional service. My husband enjoyed their pinot noir and I loved the Don Julio 1942. We each had salmon - it was juicy and well seasoned. I had the spinach as the side and both were good just know that the spinach is generously dressed with oil. We split carrot cake with our friends - we ordered a slice for each end of the table and people who didn't want to have any were having fork fights with others! The cake is served with ice cream and whipped cream. Definitely have a bit with the ice cream. Their espresso is fresh and strong. We both wanted to lick the inside of the cups but restrained ourselves! Just know that the ambiance, service and food quality ain't cheap. Let's just start with the location, right on the intercoastal! Boats cruising by, super fun! When you walk in, the open space is very inviting with an unobstructed view straight through to the wide open outside area. Now we can skip to the food! We had an eggplant appetizer that could have served as my main! Three thick eggplant pieces, fried with mozzarella and tomato. SO GOOD! We also got some of the must go-to; fried calamari. It looks great and I thought it looked better and different somehow from what I saw online. We got there early so they were not busy. The bread was served warm with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I liked that combination. Our entrees came out pretty fast. Maybe 12 to 15 minutes after we ordered. I absolutely love Italian food and am usually pretty forgiving if the food is not "amazing" The sauce was not good on this dish. I have never tasted anything like it.. The pancetta did not have much flavor. I sampled the chicken parmigiana and the spaghetti. The chicken parmesan was pretty good. It was cheesy. The sauce for the spaghetti was mediocre. I forgot to mention both dishes came out really hot which was appreciated. I ordered the limoncello cake and this was phenomenal. I thought it looked too yellow when it was placed in front of me. The taste was so delicious. It was not overly sweet, just perfect. I loved the whipped cream. My friend ordered the Ice Cream Sunday which is vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. I sampled this too and it was ok, nothing special. Without the excellent service, views and just beauty of the restaurant this would have been 2 stars. I came for my formal dinner- as a widow it's always difficult to actually ask for a table for an early dinner. I try to only eat before they get busy. I ordered my usual Chardonnay and wanted the Ribeye with sautéed spinach instead of potatoes. Ask for it Pittsburgh style medium rare. I had to ask them to cook it a bit more for me and they quickly accommodated. The cooked it a few minutes and It came out perfectly. Thank you. Great outdoor views of the intercoastal! We like to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Today was a little cold, but there are also heaters. Up first, I had a wedge salad. It was a monster for $14. I liked it. For an entree I had the $29 Baby Back Ribs! Super yummy! The meat falls off the bone, moist, and there wasn't excessive sauce. Extremely good considering we aren't in Texas or Kansas City. Mom had a $20 Margherita pizza. She got it well done which is much better than not well done. It seems like a lot of you are disappointed with the food that is served here. We were not. We went in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised , pretty quickly . Now I did have another gift card that I won once again from Instagram, which helps my wallet , but doesn't change my palate. I made a reservation for 4 , on the outside patio for 7pm Saturday night. We were running a little late , so I called and let them know. They were very accommodating. We had a great outside table. We were greeted right away by our server , Morgan, who caught our vibe right away. We had a couple of cocktails before we arrived, we ordered a bottle of wine and a carpaccio, to start out. Morgan was very attentive and engaging. We did not wait long for our orders to arrive, I even told her that we are in no rush. The carpaccio was very good, as was the wine. I ordered the lobster ravioli , my wife ordered the chicken marsala, and my friends Mark and Maureen split a veal chop. I loved my ravioli, and I tasted the other meals as well. HUGE disappointment!! After reading several negative reviews we decided to try Miraggio anyway; boy did we make a BIG mistake!! We had reservations at 7:00 PM on a Friday night and when we walked into Miraggio the place was almost empty, on a Friday night?? There was a large party in the front of the restaurant and then about 3-4 tables occupied on the patio. That should have been our first clue, but no, we decided to give it a go. Making Italian food this bland really takes some work. My Italian grandmother would have been embarrassed to have this food called "Italian". The best thing we had during the meal was the two pizzas we ordered for starters, which were really good. For entrees, our table had: Chicken Marsala - probably the worst I've ever eaten, absolutely no flavor, a few thin slices of mushrooms, and a sauce that was more of glob of congealing mess. Chicken Parmigiana - thick breading with little flavor wrapped the unseasoned chicken and cover with Mozzarella, served with Pasta and Pomodoro sauce that was very bland. Linguini and Clams - the linguini was encircled by 9 very small clams (type unknown, but they had strange shells), nice thin slices of garlic atop the pasta along with some diced peppers and coved with olive oil. This was the best entree at the table. There are so many great Italian restaurants all along the coast and this isn't one of those. With the lack of patrons and subpar bland food I'd be shocked if they are here in a few months from now. So if you'd like to try Miraggio's I suggest you get there soon. read more

Great food. Nice atmosphere (if you're sitting on the outside deck on the water). So why only three stars? We'll start first with the food. Absolutely five stars for anything that came out of the kitchen. We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. Crispy on the outside and juicy, not chewy on the inside. Made exactly as it's should be made. From there, we moved on to our main courses Penne Alla Vodka and a house specialty called Penne Gigi. Both were made to perfection. Both featured Penne pasta cooked to the edge of El Dante topped with a sublime Penne ala vodka sauce. Special mention has to be given for the bread which all agreed was absolutely fantastic. Drinks? We stuck to the sparkling water but our guest did enjoy the espresso martini and rated it a ten. We finished our meal with a supremely smooth tiramisu and two homemade cannolis which had crispy shells and creamy filling, each dipped in dark chocolate chips. These were the best cannolis we have had in years. So why only three stars? Service... One star was lost because of the service. More specifically the lack of service. Our server provided at best food delivery that wouldn't be considered a service. Our "server" forgot to bring one of our deserts, we asked several times for bread, finally received it when we asked one of the bus boys, and his general indifference and ability to hide when needed, made it a real challenge for our dining enjoyment. Ambiance... One star was lost because of the decor. If you're dining on the outside deck on the water, it can be a pleasurable experience. Sitting on the water as the boats cruise by while dining on excellent food is a nice way to spend an evening. HOWEVER... the inside dining area (the area we were placed), needs a lot of help. It's enormous. If you like an "intimate dinner" with a multitude of other people at your side spread across a giant room, you'll like this dining room. If you enjoy the last wedding reception you attended or miss those days dining in cafeterias, you'll love this setting. In our case, we were a party of three in a gigantic, mostly empty room. They need to break this giant dining area up, add some plants, whatever, to make it more appealing. Miraggio's is not a place you'll drive by and stop in. It's hidden off the main Atlantic Blvd drag. In summary, this is a place of contradictions. Absolutely GREAT food, provided by poor service, while dining in poor ambiance. If you want great food and can deal with poor service, make sure you reserve a table outside on the water deck and enjoy. read more

We had a very nice lunch here. It was a glorious day, so we chose to sit outside on the back patio overlooking the intracoastal. The water was sparkling. It is located just south of the Atlantic Boulevard Bridge in Pompano Beach, so we also got to view the openings and closings of the bridge and the boats -- of all sizes -- pass by. There was a light breeze coming off the water and it was quite comfortable sitting outside under the covered terrace. We parked right outside. There's a large free parking lot. There were a few other parties seated outside, as well, and a group of folks at the outside bar, too. But the inside restaurant was pretty empty -- only one group of business folks. They have a special lunch menu, and we ordered from it. My husband chose a pasta dish, and I chose a sandwich. Both lunch specials came with a choice of soup or salad. We were brought rolls and dipping oil soon after we ordered, as well. My husband chose their Caesar salad to start. It was quite a large portion. For his pasta, he opted for their spaghetti pomodoro. He added a bit of cheese to it. The portion for the pasta was large, too. I had the soup to start. The minestrone was a large bowl packed with veggies and pasta. It was served piping hot. It was good. For my sandwich, I had their fish sandwich which was grilled mahi on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, and onion, and a side of fries. It also was good. Service was wonderful throughout the meal. We were greeted on being seated and offered water(s). The server asked if we had any questions. After we ordered, she repeated it back to us. She even asked if we wanted the soup and salad first, which we did. We were given rolls right away to keep us busy while we waited for our meals. And she brought our drinks out pdq. When we got served our salad/soup, she came by to offer pepper and grated cheese. And when we got our entrees, she again offered grated cheese for my husband's pasta. We were not rushed at any point and the pace of the meal was exactly as it should have been. We were curious about the restaurant itself and wondered what had been there previously. We found out that the place had been built from scratch and took a number of years to do so -- including Pompano's tedious permitting processes. They used to have a place in Boca Raton and one of the gentlemen told us he used to work there so he was familiar with the background and gave us the scoop. This place is fairly new and I did not know it existed as I did not make our lunch plans. It's a beautiful restaurant with great indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is right on the Intracoastal and is lovely. They have a regular menu and lunch specials menu as well. The lunch menu items come with either a choice of a salad or soup. Well, it took like seven years but I can finally review the long awaited Italian Grill, Miraggio, here in Pompano Beach. When you first arrive, you are clearly greeted by signs correcting you to the complimentary valley parking. Then as you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the sparkling clean open kitchen and the modern touches of the interior. Now, I brought four friends from NY to the dinner and repeatedly I heard, "this is gorgeous" in here. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The waiter took our drink orders and left us to look over the extensive menu. We started with fried Calamari that was very light and fresh. We also had shrimp cocktail which were plump and delicious. For dinner we enjoyed the Lambchops, seafood Pomodoro(actually fra Diablo but we asked for it not to be spicy), and the lobster ravioli. As we finished our appetizers the food arrived fresh and hot. The Seafood dish was loaded with mussels, clams, and shrimp over pasta. One of my friends asked for a bit more sauce and it was served without an issue. My lobster ravioli was in a cream sauce with lots of chunks of Lobster served over the lobster ravioli. We were way too full for dessert but reserve the right to return and try it again. Before I sign off, I want to mention the patio area. It has its own bar, is spacious and on a windy night, it was warm and not windy at all. It took over seven years for Miraggio to come to life and if dinner is any indication, it'll be around much longer than that. read more

I read the reviews on Yelp prior to coming here. However, my son really wanted to come here for his birthday. His school bus passes by there every day and he thought the restaurant looked interesting. There were six in our party. Three of them ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer and they all loved it. Thank goodness, the bread was good, because the"Italian" food was horrible. The first clue should have been how quickly the meals came out. I don't think anything was really made fresh. My son and I both ordered the chicken Parmesan. Honestly, they were not exaggerating on previous reviews when I talked about the blandness of the food. It literally felt like they opened a can of tomato sauce and just plopped it on the food. I saw absolutely no green. No herbs, no spices. There was not a bit of basil, no oregano, not even the hint of garlic on that food at all. My sister ordered the lobster ravioli. She said the ravioli was good, but she didn't enjoy the sauce. It may have been the cognac that they put in the sauce, she doesn't drink any form of alcohol and she seemed to taste a little bit of alcohol like it wasn't cooked down enough. My daughter ordered the pepperoni pizza. She said it was pretty OK, but the pepperoni were a little bit too salty. We even joked that maybe I should pick her pepperoni off the pizza and put them on my pasta. The best entrée of the night was not even an Italian dish. My two nieces ordered the ribs. They both loved them. The only complaint one of them had was the potatoes had an overwhelming lemon flavor and she didn't eat them. My other niece ordered french fries with hers instead of the lemon potatoes. The ribs were supposed to come with coleslaw, but they were out of coleslaw. Actually, they were out of a couple of things. Someone at the table next was wanted a Mojito, but they were out of mint. They were also out of the crispy brussels sprouts Two members of my party shared Lemoncello cake and they thought it was pretty good. My daughter had the tiramisu she loved it. My son ordered the cannolis. He said the filling was great on the inside, but the cannoli shell itself was a little too starchy. But, the filling didn't reach all the way to the center, just the two ends of the cannoli. It does seem as though they cater to an older population with the blandness of the food. If this restaurant looks interesting to you, but you are a person that loves flavor. You should pass! The one complaint I do not have is the service. Our server was a nice young lady, and she was very professional and did a great job. Miraggio offers multiple dining areas including a huge outdoor bar with tv screens. Hostess greeted us pleasantly and we were seated within minutes. Our waiter, although pleasant seemed to be on fast mode and reminded me of a wind-up toy. He was very busy going back and forth to many tables. I wondered if Miraggio had enough staff to accommodate the huge dining areas. When asked about bread for the table, found out it was " on demand. " No salt and pepper on the table. No manger or waitstaff stopped by to ask if everything was ok. We enjoyed the Miraggio Salad, Seafood Tagliolini Fra Diavolo and Lobster Ravioli. All dishes were very tasty and comparatively priced. Although the ravioli dish was good, the sauce was different than expected. The pasta in the seafood wasn't cooked well enough. Miraggio is beautiful. Although the menu isn't extensive, what is offered is plenty to open with. I believe given a few months, my rating of Miraggio will increase. read more

Beloved and I stopped by Miraggio for lunch. Miraggio is the newest restaurant in Pompano, located right smack on the East side of the Intracoastal a mere one building south of the Atlantic bridge. It's also huge. Without a doubt the biggest restaurant in Pompano. Knowing the area as I do I don't see how they are ever going to fill it. It's also brand new from the ground up, so sparkling clean and well laid out. We wanted to sit on the patio on the water's edge but since it was raining we had to sit inside. As Miraggio is an Italian restaurant, I started off with some calamari, garlic marinara sauce which was very good but nothing outstanding. I also had a beef carpaccio with shaved parmigiana, cracked pepper and EVVO which was outstanding. For my entree I had their papardelle bolognese which ragu sauce was one of the best. read more

The patio is absolutely gorgeous! This restaurant has such a lovely view inside and out. It's interesting to watch them slice meats in the front and the open concept kitchen. You are greeted with a smile from everyone you pass. This is rare! The lighting in here is gorgeous. I will say you want to dress up a bit more than casual, as it gives a fine dining feel. The server, Dave gave some great suggestions and I got the lobster tail mussels linguine with scallops instead of shrimp. It tasted even better the next day! I was really disappointed with my experience at Miraggio Italian Grill. The service was honestly terrible from start to finish. It took forever just to get drinks and the staff seemed completely inattentive and disorganized the entire night. We constantly had to flag someone down for basic things and it felt like no one cared whether we were having a good experience or not. As for the food, it was nothing special at all especially for the prices. Everything tasted very average and lacked flavor. Came here with some friends for lunch. There were some lunch specials & then a dinner or all day menu. There were 6 of us. 2 servers handled the table. Apparently they are still learning. It took quite a while to enter our orders. The food did come out quick. I ordered chicken Caesar salad & was told it came with a soup. I asked what kind- it was minestrone. They were no other choices. That brings me to the ambiance- there is a beautiful outdoor patio on the intracostal. However, it was pretty chilly yesterday. They provided us with a heater above us which really helped! My soup was good & hot. I was the only person that ordered a salad. Everyone else had pasta or sandwiches. They said that everything was good. I will come back soon to try other items on the menu & see if the service improves. I know this restaurant is fairly new. They need to work out some of the kinks. I will also set up a group lunch with my ladies group soon as well. read more

We went to Miraggio for Valentine's Day dinner and this place did not disappoint. We did make reservations, which I recommend if you want to sit on the patio for sunset. We were seated just inside and still had a beautiful view. The calamari was perfectly breaded and fried- a great appetizer. We saw many pizzas heading out of the kitchen and my husband to order the meat lovers flatbread pizza and said it was excellent. I tried the chicken Marsala with buttered spinach and it was one of the best chicken Marsala I've ever had. Serena was are server and she was an absolute delight. Even the bathrooms were beautiful. They will be adding a breakfast brunch buffet and I look forward to going back. What a great addition to Pompano Beach. read more
