Me and my family stopped here on our way to San Jose. You pass many winery's that seem hard to get to as they are right off the freeway. You gotta be alert for them. We ended up finding this spot just on Apple Maps and it looked really cute. When you get there, there will be the cutest black and white dog roaming around. Her name is Noe! She is part of the winery and comes to great you at your car. What great service! The inside of the winery is very simple and cute. They have a big patio to sit outside with your drinks. I will say, I am usually a sweet wine person and we were told there were no sweet wines at this facility. Nonetheless, we did a wine flight just to try! The wines were very smooth, none were really my taste though. Again, preferring sweet wine this was a bit to adjust to. However, my family who got red wines and actually like red wines loved it! The star of the show for me was actually a peach cider they have! I usually don't like ciders either, but this one was so delicious and refreshing! I wish I had just got a couple of those. Overall, service and everything was great! The man was very knowledgeable and friendly. Noe was an exciting part of the experience. And the cider was so amazing! I love this winery. The owner/winemaker Jeff is almost always in the tasting room, so the experience of visiting is always informative and fun. The wines are delicious. Jeff also holds seminars and workshops, so there is always an opportunity to learn more about wine in a comfortable setting. He is conveniently located right off 101 near the Outlets. read more

Such a nice place! There's seating area on a lawn of grass. You grab your flight at a main station and take it to where you want to sit. I had the pleasure of enjoying some outdoor music. That was such a cool treat! I love that there were so many options you can choose from to taste. I tried the 2017 Aubade, 2015 Serenade, 2016 Syrah, Stage Right, and the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon. You get 5 tastings for $10. Really reasonable! Then you can waive your tasting fee if you get a bottle. I actually really liked the Stage Right so I took that one to go! Staff were nice. We were looking at houses in gilroy and we wanted to stop by a winery to taste some wine afterwards so we found this place. The owner said we could drop in and it was a quiet day. There was only 1 couple inside but later another couple sat inside. A lot of outdoor seatings around the tasting room. I don't think we will ever need a reservation here. $15 for 5 choices of wines. There's a total of 10 wines to choose from. We got to try all the wines since I got 5 white wines and my husband got 5 reds. For whites, I liked the sauvignon blanc, viognier, chardonnay, and grenache rose. For reds, we liked the Pamela's Vineyard Carignan and Stage Right. They have a lot of Rhone wines and a few California wines. Most of the wines are from Santa Clara Valley like 10 miles away and 1 wine from Lake County. The winery dog is so cute and friendly. It doesn't let the football leave her side. I believe you can picnic here. There's a fridge with other drinks and food like charcuterie, cheese, cracker, chocolate for purchase. No Reservations Required! The winery property is so big you can sit and enjoy while easily distancing during this COVID time. Enough about COVID and on to what is really important. The WINE. Jeff specializes in Rhone varietals and makes delicious wine. The Grenache is my favorite and we always have a bottle in our wine fridge. My husband loves the Reserve Syrah. The Aubade is a very tasty and a unique blend if you like whites. Forte is a Syrah dessert wine that is just right. Jeff, the owner, is very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. And he actually has 2 different labels served here. I really liked the white blend (Adube, I think?) but I wasn't a fan of the rosé. I visited LaVie Dansante today for the first time today. My brother lives in San Jose, and when I visit we explore the Santa Clara Valley wineries. Today is the Friday before Memorial Day, so things were a little quiet, but that turned out to be great because we got to talk to Jeff the winemaker and learned so much. We tasted about 6 wines and really enjoyed them. You can taste the labor of love that went into these wines. My personal favorite if the day was the 2015 Nocturne, so took a few home to enjoy in Massachusetts. As I'm away from home, I also miss my dog, and got to meet and pet Noelani aka Neo, who loves her ball. I love spending time in the Santa Clara Valley drinking wine. read more

A hidden gem in Gilroy! Went to this winery today for a tasting with my mom and fiancé. Once we got out of the car, we were greeted by ambassador pup Noe! My fiancé and I started with the reds which were robust in flavor but easy to drink. Even my mom who doesn't normally drink wine enjoyed trying them. We were curious about the white wines so we got a second flight to try them. My fiancé and I don't normally like white wines but the Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache Blanc were so good! Ended up getting a bottle each of the blancs, and a bottle of Serenade (red). Overall had a great time here and we learned so much from chatting with the owner Jeff. I'm looking forward to trying the frozé's during the summer so we will be back very soon! read more

My daughters were up from LA for Christmas so we thought we would visit some wineries. We went to La Vie Dansante as it is local (my wife and I live in Gilroy) plus it is family owned. I thought about it and there are several reasons to visit a winery 1) The wine of course. I liked the whites, very soft. The owner explained to us how they are different from other wineries but to be honest I can not remember the explanation. All I remember is they were good. 2) The people that work there. The owner was very personable. My wife works in biotech so she chatted with him about biology and wine growing. My daughters and I just talked about the wine and what it was like running a winery. Oh, there was a sheep dog that the owner has. It would retrieve a football . Never saw that before. Fun throwing the ball between tastings. 3) Chatting with family and friends. Well of course I liked visiting with my girls. The atmosphere at La Vie Dansante was very opening and relaxing which made chatting pleasant. read more

Jeff, owner & winemaker master, has introduced me to many, many varietals that I never knew existed and has blended them into liquid luxury. You won't find the usual Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc or Pinot Gris, no. What you will find is the enticing Rousanne, Marsanne, PicPoul Blanc and Grenache Blanc. And that's just some of the whites! Jeff, the owner and winemaker, was pouring, and the wines were delicious. This place is basically a co-op for winemakers to share space and showcase their wines, and we also enjoyed the Mederios wine that was poured.
