i love love love La Vie :) !! this review is long overdue since i've been coming here for so long. the ladies are always super welcoming and attentive, they have a wide variety of colors to pick from ( gel and regular polish ) they even offer an extra massage for a little extra charge which i love after a long week at work since I'm always on my feet . its a calm vibe inside which i like since mani pedis are my relaxing time, they always have up to date music playing and sometimes the neighbors adorable dog stops by which i love ! shout out to niko . overall this is always a great spot to try out if youve never been before . see you next time lisa ! read more

They should just name it express pedicures, because the speed at which she did my pedicure should truly be studied. Maybe I'm spoiled because I've been getting dry pedicures where they take their time and really get everything off your feet. I swear start to finish 30 mins, if that. I'm truly disappointed in the rush job they did on my feet. read more

I have been coming here for a year or so. Lately I find my nails are just ruined from the gel or gel-x and I think it's because they grind down the surface of your nail so far to get the grip the polish needs. Once removed, the remaining nails are so soft they just peel away. Not even hard enough to break. I will ask them next time I go to not grind down or buff down my nail so much. We will see if they can. UPDATE: I got the gel that is supposed to protect your nails in mid-March plus gel pedicure; $150. PLUS TIP. OK. Then I and went on vacation until mid-April. By that time of course it was lifting and pulling my hair out when I touched my hair. I garden and there was dirt under them. So I told them to take it off (and redo the gel pedicure). By the time they took off the gel that was supposed to protect my nails, three were peeling/split and one's corner was broken. I had to cut them all off when I got home. That service, plus the gel pedicure, $100. PLUS TIP. I do not want to pay $100 or $150 a month to get my nails done anymore. Need a new salon or will be doing them myself. read more

I get acrylic with gel overlay along with gel pedicure--in and out in less than an hour. Lisa and her team have been taking excellent care of me for all these years. I am clear in my requests, often bringing in photos of what I want, and I have no problem voicing what I like and don't like. I'd recommend doing the same to ensure you get what you're after. This nail shop caters to white people and full service to tourist but locals they rush us. Our service is being rushed tacky and she doesn't care and if you don't like it, you don't have to come back. That's her attitude. If you tell them about a mistake that they made or didn't do correctly they get upset and began to talk there language about you. I have translated them without them knowing it and they have called me a black woman that's never satisfied that I better take what I can get in their language was translated from my phone and they never knew it. I do it every time I go in there.. I feel that I do not get the proper service as the white people that come in there the tourist. read more

I had an amazing experience on Sunday. I came in as a walk-in for simple gel nails, and they were able to squeeze me in after a short wait. The salon was small but very clean. I called la vie on my way to a play and they fit me in as a walk in and did a gorgeous job in 30 minutes!!! Beautiful shaping, excellent attention to detail and careful about an injury I had on my hand. It's truly one of the best nail experiences I've had, even considering the rush I was in. Thankfully they took me as a walk in but I wouldn't really chance it if I were to return in the future. I got a decent pedicure, no bells or whistles, but for $27 plus tip, I couldn't complain. During the time, I felt like it was very rushed and they finished very quickly, but that was fine since my nail shape and color turned out pretty well. Okay for a walk in if you're in a pinch, but pricing is not transparent. Be sure to ask about the prices of your services so you won't be shocked at the register. I was charged $30 for polish change (even though its on the pricing menu at $15) because the manicurist asked me if I wanted 'to cut". I said yes, and was charged $15 extra dollars. I got a pedicure here last week ($25) and I loved it! Pretty small space, only 5 chairs, but they are so fast here it probably won't be too long of a wait :). I did call ahead to make an appointment. They really helped me cut my toe nails in a way that solved an almost ingrown toenail situation. And when it came to painting the color on, she literally did it in 1 minute. Came in for a mani AND pedi. Spoke with the workers and their selection for colors is slim. Found a color and this is in no way a review of how they did my pedicure - it was good but I will not be back. When I walked in I told them i wanted a gel mani and pedi. I only got my pedi done because evidently they forgot that I said I needed my nails done even after I told the woman with the lady I needed to new nails as well on top of the fill. So when i ask when I'm getting my nails done she says I only came in for a pedi. Does that really make sense? Looking at my nails I'm three weeks out for a manicure. Also, I know what i said. Essentially they wanted me to wait AGAIN until 1:30 although I was the first customer of the day So screw this place. I won't be back. Yep, this is also a very personal review. Contemporary Nail Salon and came here to try out their Gel Shellac ($25) process! They have up to date nail machines and it is surprisingly fast to have the gel nails hardened! The color, unfortunately, wasn't the one I wanted! I picked bright coral color and it turned out orange. Other than that, there is always a next time around! They were very nice and courteous. This is my favourite nail salon. I so enjoy walking through the doors and seeing the seats filled with other nail salon enthusiasts. Lisa does a wonderful manicure. She has done my acrylic nails for over a year and i have not been disappointed. She does a fantastic french manicure, which I love very much. There is a huge selection of polishes. I have never tried gels but see many people having it done. The pedicures are luxuriously done by the most wonderful woman. Technique is tender and soothing. My feet have never looked better. Stopped by cuz it was close to my hotel, the worst acrylic set i've ever had, the lady did my nail ( young lady in the salon ) she rushed on my service, the fullset acrylic was not the same length, each finger has the different length, no clean underneath, not clean the cuticle at all, the gel was not cover the nail, the shape was bad. She was rude during my service, like 55$ for this fullset, sr never comeback again. I'm really not picky about nail salons but this was the worst experience I've ever had. This was the ROUGHEST pedicure of my life. It was truly painful. My toenails are in pain weeks later and now I have to go to the doctor to see what's wrong. My fingernails also chipped within like 2 days of getting them done (and it was dip powder). Surprised I've never written a review for them so here it is! The price is unbeatable for gel, regular mani or pedis. They use high quality shellac and it tends to last me over 3 weeks no issue. With regular it lasts me nearly two weeks with hardly any chips. They have flip flops for those who don't bring them and need a pair home and they also provide other waxing services on top of the nails. The staff is great and listens to you, so talk to them!
