This place is pretty small but most restaurants in Ferris are small. It's a still a decent size. I have gone in a few times with my family after church and the service and food were always amazing. We always roll deep, so there were about 10-11 of us going in on Sunday. They always put some tables together for us no problem. The service is awesome! They treat us very well even though we were always a big group. And they always got our orders right. The tacos are AMAZING with the green salsa and the torta is really good too. And the parrilladas are super packed and come with nopales! Loved it! The last time I went I tried the hot Cheeto burrito. I just had to. Let me tell You that thing was delicious! I really liked it. It was packed with rice, bisteck, guac, sour cream, onions, cilantro and the hot Cheetos to top it off. It was also HUGE. So if you are an adventurous eater and decide to try it be prepared. Boo. Driving through on route 45, and saw this place on Yelp. Needed a place to stop for an early breakfast, and didn't want to stop at some crappy fast food place. Saw that they were open at 7, so pulled the moving van off the highway, bypassed about 10 other places, and got here about 6:45 (It's a Wednesday, so both Yelp and the sign on the door say open at 7am) Figured I'd wait the 15 minutes. Lights were off inside, but I figured they might be in back prepping. Now it's 7:15, and the lights are still off. WTF?? This place is the real deal! It tastes like a Mexican grandmother is in the kitchen cooking. The tortillas, homemade, of course, are fantastic. The corn tortilla is thick and chewy (in the good way) while the flour is light with just the right crispness. Don't miss the complimentary hot sauces. The habanero is hot, the roasted sauce is really tasty (DH fav) and, my favorite, the avocado had just the right amount of heat. I enjoyed the fresh chile relleno with tasty grilled chicken and Oaxaca cheese. DH said the chili cheese enchiladas were the best enchiladas he's ever had and I can't disagree with him. read more

We were looking for a place to eat on our way from Dallas to Galveston. Found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it. We all shared queso. It was good with plenty of cilantro, which I love. They also bring out three sauces for you to try. I had sour cream chicken enchiladas, hubby had barbacoa tacos, and our son had the nachos. The barbacoa was very good (I always taste his food :)). My sour cream chicken enchiladas were okay, but the star of the show was their avocado sauce. OMGEE, I wanted to just drink it straight out the squeeze bottle. It was sooo good! I literally smothered my enchiladas with it which made them phenomenal. I also mixed the salsa, queso, and avocado sauce and almost killed myself with the amount of chips I ate just to get that sauce in my mouth. Good service, good food, GREAT AVOCADO SAUCE. On the way home to Houston from Dallas, and we wanted something just outside of Dallas. This place is a quick drive off 45, and a definite recommend. Small town restaurant and we really enjoyed it. We started with big nachos, which was decent, but for the price ($7.50), we enjoyed it. I had chicken enchiladas, which was plentiful and yummy. Rice was a tad overcooked, but I was fine with it. I'm not a big fan of refried beans, but I really liked theirs. The star was my hub's combo fajitas. The beef was seasoned so well and so delicious. The chicken was flavorful as well, but the beef was great. Hole in the wall for sure but food was good. You order at the counter and pay and then they serve your food. I had the tacos and husband had enchiladas. Felt like authentic Mexican. First, I dont do reviews but this place deserves its shine because it is a family owned business in a little quaint town right off 45. We went here earlier in the week as we were traveling from Houston and wanted some breakfast from a local spot. I remember this place from a few years ago and decided to go there again. Thank God! The staff was very friendly and attentive. The little place was clean, and the food was fresh. We ordered two breakfast specials of Chato's favorite and we were stuffed. We each got a sweet tea and it was fresh too. All in all, the experience was great. I wish i lived closer so I can go more often. read more

I found the menu to be a bit Limited, offering enchiladas, tacos, gorditas, Etc (no chili rellanos) . I ordered the mixed grill and it was fantastic. The usual beef and chicken fajita strips grilled onion and bell pepper. But it didn't stop there. The plate also included shrimp as well as smoked sausage cactus strips. All this tender flavorful it was served with a Ramekin of sour cream and another of shredded cheese on a plate with refried beans and rice and the salad. I chose their corn tortillas rather than flour and they were almost melt-in-your-mouth tender overall the meal was great. Not only did I have a great lunch but I had enough left over to take home for dinner later. I wish the waitress have been a little more friendly or would at least have smiled a little. The menu had baby choices of food and also fresh fruit cups and authentic Aguas frescas which was very refreshing drink. The service was very friendly and you can tell it's a small family restaurant. My wife and I came here on a hot date. The food was exceptional and service was lovely. I had the Guiso de Res which is a beef stew. Super tender and tasty. My wife had the shrimp Ranchero. They were very generous on the shrimp and the tortillas were homemade and hot. This place is cute and quaint it has 7 tables. They serve chips and salsa while you wait for your meal. The salsa was homemade (which I could drink it's so delicious). They also serve 2 other delicious Mexican sauces to go with the chips and your food. My rating... this place doesn't deserve 1/2 a star!! Tried out this place due to good reviews. First of all it is NOT authentic Mexican food. For starters it smelled like sewage when we walked in. Our chips were cold & stale. The chicken on the Mole plate seemed like it was pieces of rotisserie chicken that sat under a heating lamp for 2 days and then poured the mole sauce over it. The chicken was dry, crunchy and tasted old. The rice looked and tasted like it came from an instant package. The so called real Mexican enchiladas that come with queso fresco inside covered in homemade Chile sauce, were not made with queso fresco as stated on their menu. My enchiladas were filled with mozzarella cheese. My husband couldn't even eat the Mole the taste was so awful. So, he ordered a quesadilla plate which was better but they STILL charged us for the terrible Mole plate! read more

We stopped here in Ferris to check out a little antique store. Saw the sign off I-45 and decided to check it out. Afterwards we were hungry and found this little place on Yelp. It was great!! On the weekends they serve breakfast until 1pm. Had a breakfast taco ($1.50) with a side of pancakes ($2.50). The eggs were cooked perfectly and not overdone!! The pancakes were heavenly. Freshly made... really good! My husband had the breakfast burrito ($5.50) which was huge. Also very freshly made. Great value, super nice family. Stopped in with my elderly parents for breakfast a few weeks ago. First thing I ordered was water and coffee. The teenage girl said she does NOT recommend drinking the water there!! Then we wondered what they make the coffee with?!?! So fine I paid $2 for a bottle of water. Ordered a ham and cheese omelet. Got a cheese omelet. Don't serve biscuits. It was one thing after another which we could have dealt with but the young ladies bad attitude was very unacceptable. She has a serious chip on her shoulder. Must be the owners kid or I don't see how she keeps her job. Or going back-we will go to Javiers where the girls are so kind and hardworking. read more

Great food at good prices!! They have hand made tortillas that are so yummy! The reason for the 4 stars has been the ceremony. The general service wasn't the ideal. My family and I walked in, and it is our first time eating at this institution. We waited what seemed like 5 minutes to be seated while all the waiters and supervisors were standing by the kitchen talking. We did not know whether to sit or wait on somebody to sit us. Our waiter was friendly and took our orders fairly fast. He was great I wish I would have gotten his title.
