Went for breakfast on a Saturday morning.... The food is awesome and the coffee -even the decaf!! The biscuits are made in house as is the super salsa that I felt like drinking. So yummy! I've been to this restaurant about 5 times & I've been back because I expect it to be better but no luck.... The food here is not worth it at all. I rather drive somewhere far than eat here. The service is okay but the restaurant itself does need some cleaning. The chairs are super dirty they need to change them or power wash them! I came by for breakfast one weekday since I'm new in town. I was welcomed by the friendly staff and loved the warm cozy vibes. The menu had lots of comfort classics so I went with the egg sandwich. I was a little disappointed because it had a lot of mayo and was on regular sandwich bread, you know the kind you have at home. I think that fits the vibes though so I shouldn't have been surprised. chips we're burnt when I asked for some different ones I was told that was all they had. I ordered queso and what came out was nacho sauce? quality of food was awful for the price. Staff- rude and uninterested in serving us, look I get it but if you have a job as a server and you don't like your job then you are in the wrong business. Breakfast is amazing! The food is home cooked and you can get a good meal locally for a fair price! The biscuits and gravy are the best and the chicken fried steak is great! The lunch food is hit or miss for me, but they do have some good options. I've tried the taco salad for example and it was not very appetizing, which stinks because their salsa is amazing and they give you a good portion to top it with! Small town country feel with amazing homestyle cooking! Javier's is located on the town square and the whole area has a Hallmark movie vibe. The country fried steak is the real deal, not processed and frozen. The entire menu is amazing! The staff are all friendly but a little slow. If I'm in a hurry, I call ahead for take-out. First time customers here, party of 2. We chose our own table. It's a rustic ambient setting with old fashioned decor. Chairs could use a good cleaning. We noticed steady customers coming in our entire visit. Our waitress brought menus and drinks quickly. We both ordered the chicken melt on rye with a side of fruit, also brought quickly. This was definately made fresh. We highly recommend. We asked about desserts, they are not made in house so we passed. This place is okay. Been here twice, the inside is somewhat cool - decorated with old fashioned guns and tools. The chairs are cloth type and could use some serious cleaning along with the walls and ceiling. The chicken fried steak and gravy lacked seasoning. The eggs they used for my scrambled eggs did taste like real eggs instead of the boxed stuff they use at other places. The hash browns weren't bad, just add a lil salt and peppa. The best thing I had here was the lemonade! The service is good, friendly staff and food is cooked quickly. May be back if I'm in the area and want something quick and inexpensive but definitely wouldn't be my go to. read more

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and it was pretty Busy but we got a table right away and our drink orders taken . Waitress came back 5 minutes later to take our food order and was very helpful and nice. They could use a couple more lights the corner table we were in was kind of dark and blinds were closed on the storefront windows so no natural lighting . Food came out pretty fast I ordered the veggie omelette with hash browns , and toast with a short stack of 2 pancakes and a side of salsa. Everything was delicious the salsa was very authentic and fresh tasting made my omelette even better then what it already was. The pancakes were fluffy and cooked just right . My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast after many times of passing and wondering how it was. Inside is cute and quaint with a old rustic theme. we were seated then realized the table was dirty but our waitress came over immediately to assist. Food came out at a decent rate and was pretty tasty. I got the skillet (fyi, does not come in a skillet..odd) and it was a little bland with the potatoes but no where near bad. Service was a bit slow considering we were one of 3 tables in the entire pace but it appeared to be only 2 girls in the front, I never saw anyone else,. This place was a neat little spot. My boyfriend and I were driving from Dallas to Galveston and decided to stop for lunch. We both had the bacon cheeseburger and it was delicious, the meat tasted very natural and all the condiments were on the side so you could make it your own. The theme of the restaurant was more cowboy and kind of unexpected from the name Javier but definitely something neat. There's something to catch your eye in every corner. Went yesterday, Friday September 16th, and had a bad expierence. It's usually great food, and last night was no exception. I got the fish which I love. And it was great. But they have 1 waitress working... one! So she's running around with her head cut off. Service was ofcourse slow. Where I was sitting, I was getting dripped on buy the French drain system or whatever from the ceiling. So we moved the table a few inches. Well, The table was lop sided so when we moved it, it tipped over and our drinks spilled everywhere. The tea tasted exactly like coffee. And the table next to us said the same thing. When we paid out, we told Javier (the owner) himself about the tea tasting like coffee. He said "oh I'm sorry, they must of not cleaned out the container".... that's something you want to hear at a restaurant... esp from the owner. Probably won't go there for fish anymore.
